People think average means bad, but that's not the case. Society just gets lazier and lazier, so of course the average person will be lazy and out of shape. Then someone with average genetics decides to actually put in hard work and effort and becomes strong/looks good and people just say "Oh, they have good genetics." which just strengthens the belief that average is the same as bad. We need more people like you to make people realize, there's more to it than just genetics.

when you said "bull shit mother fucker" I got pumped! You are literally saving people's lives by encouraging them to stay natural! I jumped on the prohormone train a while back, it did way more damage than benefits. Benefits were very short term. After about 5 years of low T, I am finally healthy with 600 T levels. But who knows what they were before damaging my body. I wish I had found your channel earlier or got good info about the dangers of hormone abuse.

Because it's true man, and if you set yourself low because someone say something you are just weak. You need to know what you can possibly do and can possibly not do and strive to find out in the physical way. Even if the majority of people can't be elite it doesn't mean they can't try to get there.

@M B Yes, I agree, he over exagerate things, and yes, AD body is very achievable by average genetics if they take time, but rlly now, elite standards are to high, not everybody can get 315 bench (I agree that most can) but he want to promote the fact that it's very very unlickely to achieve physiques in social media. He over exagerate because thinking this will compensate, intent is good, actions are poor, but most people realise what he tryna say.

20-25 lbs a year of gains in the major compounds after you’re already advanced is super common, you just have to work your ass off.
People DONT want to do that, and don’t have the mental stamina.
They convinced themselves that they can only gain 5 lbs on lifts per year, so it reflects in their half assed training and half assed knowledge

It's sad that we live in a world where in most commercial gyms the intermediate standatds (1 plate OHP, 2 plate bench, 3 plate squat and 4 plate deadlift) are basically top 5% lifts, where most people can't do basic calisthenics like bodyweight dips and pull ups for a couple of reps, from lack of strength, and most lifters stop making progress after the novice stage
As a society the standards have become so low that lifts that should be achievable to most people with sufficient training are seen as "elite".

I don’t listen to ANYONE who says I can’t lift this or do that, I’m 20, high rep calisthenics for 2 years, and weight training for only about 6-8 months, (no benching due to limited equipment), point is being, if I want to achieve a lift, I will, I don’t care what anyone says, why have doubts? Think of the long term not short, can’t OHP 225? Let’s say you’re at 130, let’s say worse case you add 5lbs a year, shit 20 years you got a 230lbs, just look at what you can do long term, set goals, and smash them, I was 18 stone 5.6-5.7, now I’m 11 stone 11 pounds, and I’m enjoying this shit! Breaking a pr? Getting a faster sprint? It’s like a real life video game! You are levelling up your character in real life? Some people put thousands of hours into video games, why not level your real life character? Some people grind for years for a couple stats in a game, why not the same in real life? It seems a lot of people just give up when they're struggling to progress and just make excuses and say other people have better genetics etc. What they should be doing is learning more and trying new ways of training/eating, and continuing to fail many more times before finally figuring out what works!

TLDR: OHP/BENCH ratios will also decrease as the weight gets heavier; Novices and Intermediates tend to have a higher bench/OHP (65-69%) ratio, while Advanced and Elite lifters tend to have a lower bench/OHP ratio (60-64%). www.livestrong.com/article/446756-shoulder-press-to-bench-press-ratio/

First and foremost, this isn't the first time Alphadestiny has strict OHP pressed 2 plates. In fact, he already did that in 2016.
And second of all, this goes against Alphadestiny's idea that strength is strength. Anyone who can bench press 405 should easily build a 225 plate OHP. Like it or not, the bench press still builds vital weaknesses that are essential to the OHP.
Lastly, he still did use specificity of training. Incorporating volume OHP as a third press, implementing a close grip bench/OHP with chains, and adding tricep accessories helped build his 225 OHP.
I have nothing against your goals, and a 250 strict press is possible... assuming you're a big guy that is. But judging by your comment; you are still relatively new to lifting weights and I can promise you 250 OHP is going to be very very very difficult for someone your weight.

I hope you keep talking about Greg Plitt... he passed too soon and doesn't get enough recognition these days. The fitness industry really needs him cause yeah, no one is believing in themselves anymore. I was in that boat too. I'd lost all my gains due to lockdown and questioned if I should even go back, but then I rediscovered Greg, I got back into the gym, and decided to even do his transformation calendar... Working out has become very clinical with so much science, RPE etc. so I had to really turn off all that noise in my head and just believe in the process. Supersets, dropsets, and failure every set is the bulk of the training. I've seen incredible gains but more importantly has been the self confidence gained. Also, I truly believe he was an elite natural and is someone nattys can aspire to. At least how he looked in his videos, his pictures are very photoshopped due to being a professional fitness model. He loved training and put his all into it. I think if anyone is crazy enough to make it in the industry as a natural it'd be him. But we'll never know. Whether he was or not, his speeches and life philosophy can completely turn lives around for the better. Anyway, great positive message in this video. Bro I happened to re-watch this video right after I started getting sucked into blackpill content. I'm 5'6", and that media I was consuming was starting to make me believe it was all over for me in the dating world, even if I got swole. In fact, I started to get the inkling that getting massive at my stature would simply be perceived as a compensatory mechanism for my height, and possibly make things worse for me, or at best, not benefit me. I started to consider $20k+ invasive cosmetic surgeries to increase my height, or moving to Japan (since I do know the Japanese language to an intermediate level), where my height is normal, to even have a chance. But at the end of the day, what was chewing me up was the idea that all my greatness, and everything I accomplished in life, would simply be viewed as "making up" for something I never had any control over, rather than being truly appreciated for the hard work and dedication that went into it.
Thinking about this got me so down that I actually skipped a workout day in my PPL routine for the first time ever (since I started taking my lifestyle choices seriously)! Then I re-watched this video and it started to instill hope in me, but what really hit me hard was 10:27 - 10:39. At that moment, I unsubscribed from all blackpill content, and told YT to fuck off on any blackpill-related recommendations. What I realized was that my negative beliefs were already manifesting themselves in my actions relating to the gym. I'm still fighting the negative beliefs that were instilled in me about my height, but what I did realize was that in this respect, blackpill content did me no favors there either. Even if we suppose that 99% of girls want guys taller than them, all that blackpill content did was limit my chances with the 1%. I may be a crazy man, but my mentality is not going to be what holds me back. A man's greatness is defined by the obstacles he overcomes, and I will be an overcomer.

I decided to change how I viewed my workouts especially since I only started lifting consistently since March, before that I did calisthenics every so often for a few months. I saw myself getting frustrated cause I couldn't lift what I saw everyone else lifting and I felt that I was starting really late at 19. I'm naturally a bit muscular, but I had no strength, nothing of substance. Then I decided to do exactly this, change my mindset and educate myself cause I didn't want to give in so soon into my journey. Really has been a game changer, now I smile everytime I fail with a weight cause I know that's just gonna be another victory later down the road and I've never enjoyed myself so much in the gym as I do now. Plus, from just these past 3 months I look so different and my strength has begun shooting up, it's nice to see all the hard work bear fruit.

So much fitness content makes it seem like unless you're juiced to the gills, you have to settle for mediocre results, but I think you're right--it's more about the mental game. Low expectations = mediocre results.

Greg Plitt was a MAN. I even did whole MFT28 program with 2 sessions a day and watched all videos both from UA-cam and video files from that program.
I was crushed when I heard about his death at that time.

Hey Alpha, great video, and I agree with the message entirely. However, you did not list 2 very important variables:
    1. The sport has so many more people participating in it and the genetic pool is wider, that explains the higher standards to a small extent.
    2. The equipment and knowledge being much more advanced and readily available.
    Much love from Montreal ❤️

Great video brother! This is exactly what I learned in my spiritual journey. When we ask ourselves who creates expectations and standards? Is science always correct? Generations/people/mentalities are changing. Change is inevitable. Use your life to experiment and push past any limitations. Like a kid that is oblivious to risks they just do. Self belief is the most powerful tool. Obviously we have to be smart and understand there’s risks to anything but just go for it. In terms of gym screw the genetics or test levels. I had cancer 8 yrs ago and that still pushes me to lift and keep training hard. I wonder whether my test is low but honestly I don’t give af. I’m making gains and staying healthy. We have to try everyday to question limitations and theories and push ourselves in every aspect even gym. 💪

Limits obviously exist, but the problem is we don't always know precisely where. Thinking about it too much becomes a massive distraction. We draw our conclusions about the nature of limits, and then we want to defend our conclusions when other people question them. Before you know it, months or even years have passed, and in the end we still haven't proven anything. That time would have been much better spent instilling self-belief and mental fortitude in ourselves.

Don't think like that I live in sweden were everyone is freakishly tall and I am 5'9 I am one of the shortest in my class and while it may be true that they are taller and can be more intimidating if you workout and they don't you will allways have a much better looking physique and besides that these 6'5 people admire your strength and body so don't focus on something that you can't control and realise that you're the hardest worker in the room

Yeah I completely agree with you I'm 160 pounds in my late 20s and I've been working out for 3 month's only and my bench isn't crazy but it's at 265 so when I hear people saying average people can't do 315 I'm like damn I've worked out 3 month's and I'm at 265.. So I can't do it in a year or so? Like it's not even that hard for me I try to max out once a month I add 5 pounds if it goes up easy I'll add another 5 pounds I usually won't go past that. But the fact that I'm literally only 3 months into this and I'm only 50 pounds off it's driving me especially for my size. So thanks for the motivation 🙌🏾🙏🏾

Mindset is literally EVERYTHING. Just casually saying things like "I sleep within 10 minutes" WORKS. Literally FAKE IT TILL YOU MAKE IT!!
There is something about lieing to others that makes me feel accountable and make me reach my goals. So here is my statement:
I can bench 140kg for 10 Reps, all of them paused. I can bench 140kg for 10 Reps, all of them paused. I can bench 140kg for 10 Reps, all of them paused.
