So a quick update for both of you, I am not 9 1/2 months postpartum. I had a lot of complications after having my baby, I was bleeding heavily until I was 6 months postpartum and I stopped breastfeeding. I know typically if you breast-feed you are supposed to stop bleeding around 4 to 6 weeks and you’re not supposed to have a period until you stop breast-feeding but that was not the case for me at all. I had to make the choice to stop breast-feeding my baby so I can go on birth control to control the bleeding since I was becoming anemic due to losing crazy amounts of blood every single day for six months straight after having my son. After I stopped breast-feeding and went on birth control I stopped bleeding almost immediately and now my period is actually shorter than it was before I got pregnant.
During my pregnancy I watched your videos religiously, my baby is 2 weeks old and I want to thank you for all the great tips! I had a very positive experience with my pregnancy, vaginal labor and now recovery. Thank you!
By Clouser same here...I doubt it would have went as smoothly if I hadn't watched here videos! And taken her advice...I even avoided ppd! Now I can actually enjoy my baby boy. Although I had an awesome L&D nurse that caught my baby because the doctor was moving too slow! She and Sarah both has definitely inspired me to become a L&D nurse... Thank you Sarah!😭...hormones still alittle outta wack!lol🤗 Congrats on your new addition!!!
I don’t have a baby, haven’t had a baby, haven’t ever been pregnant, but pelvic floor physical therapy is LIFE. Best thing I have ever done for my body. I honestly think every single person, man or woman, needs to see a PFPT. Our poor pelvic floors get forgotten about all the time.
I feel like I should have done this. Had 3rd degree tears (so, to the rectum) & have to run to the bathroom all the time. Thought it would get better, but it has been two years & it's not. Any recommendations for how to find a good specialist? Ask my OB?
@@You.Tube.Sucks. ask your OB! They should have a recommendation. My OB is who gave me a referral. And update to my original comment: I did get pregnant and did have a baby and pelvic floor physical therapy is still life. I went to it while pregnant and after and everything down there feels completely normal and I 100% believe it’s because I’ve had great care with my PFPT
Thank you so much for your videos! My son is two months now and when I was giving birth I had the best experience because of all the advice you gave. I was actually able to relax during contractions and like you say “flex and flow”! My nurse was asking where I went for my labor class because I was doing so well. May god continue blessing your life because you have been a tremendously great help.

I just want to personally thank you... I came across your videos at 30wks pregnant with my second child and you really helped me alot. My son is now two weeks old and i definitely don't think i would've made it this far without you! You're an angel!!

This time going for a VBAC, and it's like it's my first time since I never experienced labor! Now binge watching all your videos and just want to thank you for them. They are so informative and helpful!
Thank you so much for discussing the importance of consulting with a pelvic floor therapist! Pelvic floor issues just aren't discussed often enough and they're so common. I'm currently 9 weeks postpartum and had no idea about prolapse/pelvic floor dysfunction. Ladies, listen when she says to take it easy! Pelvic floor physio should be a routine part of prenatal/postpartum care

I'm not pregnant yet but I've been constantly watching your videos on pregnancy for a while (over a year now) just to prepare myself for when I do actually get pregnant. I hope it will happen soon, I'm so readyyy 🤰🏽
Your videos definitely helped me out as my OB gave me no information on what to expect. Just had my boy on the 5th and healing from a 2nd degree tear. Thank you so much!
You are a blessing! I was crying last night, feeling so down because of the pain from my stitches, but you gave me hope. I also asked God today to give me more strength and I guess you are what God sent for me to be hopeful. ❤️
I am pregnant with my 1st and have always wanted to be a mom. Like I was one of those kids who said "a mom" whenever asked "what do you want to be when you grow up?" But at the same time I have always been so scared of labor, delivery, and recovery. I just want to take a second and thank you so much for all of the videos you have posted. I'm 10 weeks out from my due date and yes I'm still anxious about labor and delivery but I'm no longer really scared to go through it. You have helped me tremendously in this area and I can't thank you enough!
@@diane5893 we're doing great! Thank you for asking :-) labor and delivery was pretty rough. Long story short, I was induced then was in labor for almost 60 hours before needing an emergency c-section. I gave birth to my baby girl a week ago, I love your videos, they helped me alot through last month of my pregnancy and delivery. I felt very knowledgable and knew what to expect. You are the best!!!!!!!
1st baby, 3rd degree tear. I had to kneel in the tub and have the removable shower head running under me every single time I peed. I still cried. Twice my stitches pulled out, I just gave up. I lived in ice packed, witch hazel soaked diapers for days before I very slow downgraded to simpler pads. Lots of cooling/numbing spray. I moved very slowly and stood/sat even slower. 2nd baby, 2nd degree tear. Was braced up for as bad as it had been the first time mentally, but finding it wasn't as bad, I handled the peeing much better and was okay with frozen pads alternating with witch hazel pads in my diapers instead of "this is not a drill, get everything" mode. Still moved carefully at first, but I was okay.
Thank you! Even though this is a different topic I am 60 years old, full hysterectomy, a trophy vaginitis, and a lot of pain. The herbal steam sitz bath is amazing! It’s like a sauna, I used chamomile mint and chamomile lavender tea.
Due with my first baby girl in April. Binge watching all of your videos for all of the knowledge. I’m a new subscriber and obsessed with your videos! You have such an amazing personality☺️💜
I’m sooo glad you’re actually saying vagina and not “your downstairs” or something annoying like that 🙄😂 About to have a baby in a week so thanks for this video ❤️❤️❤️

I didn't know we could tear around our uretra, but I did. Those are the stitches that actually bother me. I'm 8 days postpartum and they still hurt. I hope my body does its job faster 😭
Love your videos! Just had my baby boy on the 6th. This video is so helpful! I had a vaginal delivery with forceps and had a catheter placed after delivery because I lost a lot of fluid after. I didn’t get to wear any comfy clothes I packed. The only things I used in my hospital bag was my toiletries and snacks and so much water. But this is super helpful. I def was shocked by the postpartum recovery and didn’t know what to expect. The warm water soak in the bathtub is everything!
Me October 24th: **Waddling out the hospital with all my goodies- giant pads, stretchy undies, and a little human** 😂😂😂 💕 dude btw that squirt bottle was AMAZING, my stitches are dissolved but i still use it, it saved me from horrifying pain 😅😇 My first poop was absolutely terrifying, my hands and armpits were sweating 😓 but it was fine. Not painful.
I had vaginal birth, 2nd degree tear. I’m allergic to ibuprofen so only taking Tylenol as needed which doesn’t help at all. It’s been 2 weeks postpartum and my uterus is still hurting, but not so bad. Also my vagina (labia) feels heavy and hurts especially when walking around. Can’t wait to heal completely 🥵
You are so amazing and encouraging! Currently going on seven months. Another one of your vids was shared with me by my sis and I'm so grateful for your channel. I'm def hooked on all the great positive and real info ❤❤
Due in November and I have been more worried about the postpartum period than I have been about delivery. I thought it would be super complicated and time consuming to properly clean and care for my messed up lady parts but I feel a lot better about it now! Thank you for your videos!!!
After my first pregnancy I passed huge blood clots like the size of my hand and I would feel them coming down, but I was a teenager and I thought it was normal. I never told my doctor but I'm still here.
Thankyou for uploading this video. I'm eight 1/2 months pregnant and i think this video will be very helpful to me after our baby's arrival as this is my first time. My husband and i are little nervous and tensed but anyway we can't hardly wait for our sweetheart.
I start waching you when i was pregnant becouse i was hopping to have vbac after 2 csection lissening your advise and info andthankfully god i had secses possitive vbac now my zon is 2 week old
I had a fourth degree tear with my daughter just over a year ago. I spoke with my OB about having continued issues with incontinence and was only told it was common at that point or "that's too bad." I didn't know I had options until I got pregnant several months ago and began speaking to a doula. I wish that the two OB's I'd spoken with postpartum had told me to go to PT instead of making me feel like it was just something I'd deal with for the rest of my life. PT has already made some improvement and after my second baby is born, I hope to see continued improvement! It really should be spoken about more.
I watched all your videos and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on the 18th of June. I had such a positive induction and it was all thanks to you and being flexible in everything that went on
Hi Sarah, I’m a birth and postpartum doula and I love your videos. I love sending your videos to clients who are interested in specific topics. I know this is an older video, but I’d love to see an updated video on this topic using the medical terminology for the parts of the body. Maybe just my preference but as a professional, I don’t feel comfortable sending clients videos that use “vag” or “vagina hole” (vaginal opening?) etc. Also, sometimes this video seems to actually be referring to the vulva when using the word vagina - I know you’re a medical professional as well. :) Just a friendly request. Thanks for all the amazing work that you do! 🙏
A note: I had NO idea and never thought I'd need a c-section. The first bowel movement I had was at home almost a week after surgery and was traumatic. I was SO freaked out because... it was a narcotic bowel movement... did not go well... too much tmi to describe. When they say to take the stool softener--> TAKE the stool softener.
I looked up so many postpartum videos throughout my pregnancy and now I’m more nervous about it since i can give birth anytime. But i am much more prepared this time around. Thanks for the amazing videos 🙌🏻🙏🏻❤️
tabitha l honestly, i felt a lot more this time around, but i would say it was still better! I was able to actually cope with the pain much longer than i expected & i was more calm. The breathing really helps along with relaxing music, and really reminding yourself this pain won’t last forever & at the end i get to hold my baby. It truly helped me! 🙏🏻
Girl thank you for this video! Your videos have been so informative to help know what to discuss with my midwives. I'm due in the middle of September with my first baby. So looking forward to meeting my baby boy 😍
I wish doctors would send a box of recovery items they used during women recovery...they don't send alot home and it's a pain.. I tore my vagina and tore my rectum not sure what level it is.
Tucks pads and peri bottles were key for me! I found it helpful to stock up on Tucks pads, stool softeners, and nipple cream before I went into labor so I wouldn't have to run to the store. My hospital provided a peri bottle, sitz bath, and dermoplast.
I took 20g of collagen (plain powder that I added to hot chocolate) per day starting around 32 weeks and then after delivery I switched to a powdered bone broth which had less collagen. I had an almost 9 lb and almost 10 lb baby and only 1 small 1st degree tear on both. i think the collagen helped a lot. The bone broth was very soothing after delivery… can’t say for sure if it helped recovery but I believe it did.
Here in malaysia, we have this postpartum rest at least 30day....some took the 100day....what mom do is only do some walk inside house...eating healthy food....rest...breastfeed baby....we use herb in our bath routine...to make body fresh...and some more stuff to help mama's health.and, no s3x until 60 days 😆..some choose to finish the 100days before having s3x.
I would say that if you take it easy, it it helps alot. Quick tip: for the peri bottle, add a little bit of witch hazel to the warm water. Its very soothing and helps keep the area clean.
I’m so happy I have found u at the right time I’m +3 months pregnant with first baby I’m so happy I saw ur this video hopefully will be watching all ur video thanks super women
I really wish this video covered more on the different types of tears not just the degrees of tearing. As well as how to tell which type of tear you have if you maybe were already discharged from the hospital and you don't know. For instance I was told my perineum was in tact but that my urethra was torn. I feel like a lot of this video covered recovery in the hospital not so much when you go home with the exception of the first week of recovery.

I LOOOVVEEE your videos. They’re helping a lot. I’m 39 weeks pregnant and I wanted to make sure I’m not only ready for baby, but that I’m ready for recovery. Your personality is A1, Easy to follow along, and I Love how your so focused on health. ❤️
I didn't know we could tear around our uretra, but I did. Those are the stitches that actually bother me. I'm 8 days postpartum and they still hurt. I hope my body does its job faster 😭
How did it heal up??!!
I just had my baby last week and your videos helped so much. I started watching your videos 1month before she was born. You rock!!!
Or ladies invest in some depends!! 3rd baby had to get me some! Wish i would’ve known bout them to use after pregnancy sooner 🥰
Just had my baby girl on the 11th 🥰❤️really needed this
Congratulations!! Due any day now with a little girl as well!
Congrats❤️❤️❤️❤️.
I had a baby girl July 11 too!
My baby is now 2 months old, I had a wonderful birth. Hurt like hell with a failed epidural but your tips helped me not be so scared!
definitely see a pelvic floor physio when prepping for delivery and postpartum, and ask ALL the questions. Totally worth it.
Me October 24th: **Waddling out the hospital with all my goodies- giant pads, stretchy undies, and a little human** 😂😂😂 💕 dude btw that squirt bottle was AMAZING, my stitches are dissolved but i still use it, it saved me from horrifying pain 😅😇
My first poop was absolutely terrifying, my hands and armpits were sweating 😓 but it was fine. Not painful.
38 weeks pregnant with #3 and it's amazing how much I forgot in 5 years. Thanks for the info!
I’m having my baby girl August 1st I’ve been watching your videos through my whole pregnancy you’ve helped me a lot thank you🥰
I'm getting induced this Friday, July 19! I'm so excited!!! 💙 I keep watching your videos on REPEAT!
How you feeling ??
Due my second baby in a week.. Scarred by my last post partum experience.. Thank god I found you! 🙌🏼❤️ Thank you xx
You are so amazing and encouraging! Currently going on seven months. Another one of your vids was shared with me by my sis and I'm so grateful for your channel. I'm def hooked on all the great positive and real info ❤❤
Yay thank you!!!!
Getting induced today and I am terrified! Thank you for posting all of your videos they have been super helpful!!
You got this!!!!
In the Philippines we use guava leafs boil it, put it in a ceramic pail then sat on it for steam
Oh interesting! Is this even when you are still bleeding or after bleeding?
Thank you for confirming about the padsicles, I was always worried that maybe it wasn't necessarily good for the vagina when it was so delicate!
Your channel is so thorough and relatable - thanks so much!
I'm about to have my first baby and already looking into the how to recover process haha. Such an informative video and helpful. Thank you!!
Due in November and I have been more worried about the postpartum period than I have been about delivery. I thought it would be super complicated and time consuming to properly clean and care for my messed up lady parts but I feel a lot better about it now! Thank you for your videos!!!
Salt water rinses helps tremendously for healing 👀
Interesting like Epson salt, will try that one
After my first pregnancy I passed huge blood clots like the size of my hand and I would feel them coming down, but I was a teenager and I thought it was normal. I never told my doctor but I'm still here.
Thankyou for uploading this video. I'm eight 1/2 months pregnant and i think this video will be very helpful to me after our baby's arrival as this is my first time. My husband and i are little nervous and tensed but anyway we can't hardly wait for our sweetheart.
I start waching you when i was pregnant becouse i was hopping to have vbac after 2 csection lissening your advise and info andthankfully god i had secses possitive vbac now my zon is 2 week old
I gave birth yesterday to my beautiful princess, I tore really badly your videos re doing it all for me...I love you❤️
I had a fourth degree tear with my daughter just over a year ago.
C Eisenfeld Amen!!! And I'm so sorry about your obs 🙄 so glad you found help!
So true what you say !!!
I wish I could have seen you before I had my children not pregnant no more but definitely you gave the right facts !
How was birth? I am afraid any tips?
tabitha l honestly, i felt a lot more this time around, but i would say it was still better! I was able to actually cope with the pain much longer than i expected & i was more calm. The breathing really helps along with relaxing music, and really reminding yourself this pain won’t last forever & at the end i get to hold my baby. It truly helped me! 🙏🏻
Your videos are sooo helpful and good for so many women. Thank you Sarah!
Girl thank you for this video! Your videos have been so informative to help know what to discuss with my midwives. I'm due in the middle of September with my first baby. So looking forward to meeting my baby boy 😍
Me too
You are so thorough! Greatly appreciate it 💓
I wish doctors would send a box of recovery items they used during women recovery...they don't send alot home and it's a pain..
I tore my vagina and tore my rectum not sure what level it is.
Great video thank you so much!! I look forward to the essential oil spray recipe. Thanks!!
I'm sure I'm gonna need all these tips 😂 thanks for basically being a pregnancy genius and always making me feel less nervous about labor 🤞😂
Thnkx for this tips since I was need of them. Am now 2weeks since I gave birth and not recovered yet but hope will get through
Tucks pads and peri bottles were key for me! I found it helpful to stock up on Tucks pads, stool softeners, and nipple cream before I went into labor so I wouldn't have to run to the store. My hospital provided a peri bottle, sitz bath, and dermoplast.
Good idea I'm going to pick up some tomorrow
Adult diapers are way more comfortable than the pad and mesh panties 🙃
I agree,I used adult diapers too
Yes!!!!
Pruney 😂😂😂 I’m dying. Thank you for that! 2 weeks postpartum and I needed that laugh
Had my baby June 9th but I’m still gonna watch because I love your videos
I took 20g of collagen (plain powder that I added to hot chocolate) per day starting around 32 weeks and then after delivery I switched to a powdered bone broth which had less collagen. I had an almost 9 lb and almost 10 lb baby and only 1 small 1st degree tear on both. i think the collagen helped a lot. The bone broth was very soothing after delivery… can’t say for sure if it helped recovery but I believe it did.
I would recommend this video to others. Much success to you always.
Due in September and this is the part that worries me, after care😳 LOVE YOURE CHANEL❤
The first few days are tough, but the body is surprisingly resilient! You may feel mostly healed after two weeks. Best of luck to you!
I would say that if you take it easy, it it helps alot. Quick tip: for the peri bottle, add a little bit of witch hazel to the warm water. Its very soothing and helps keep the area clean.
I'm due in Sept due! Also here looking for new tips!
Me too! I am so scared, and I want to make sure I have the right information.
I'm due in September too. Learning so much
Check out the yoni eggs/jade eggs for use in conditioning the vagina.
Had my baby on the 4th July your videos are a life saver 💜 yay someone that talks about grazing
Add liquid witch hazel to your peri-bottle with warm water 👍👍👍
Oh man did this help!! I was so glad I had plenty of witch hazel on hand when I was healing.
How much WH did you add?
@@makeshiamullins4144 I don't really measure, but I would say that if you could use a bubble bath cap, then one capful.
I had my second son in May, I watched all your videos religiously. They are 9 years apart so it was a totally new experience.
I still watch your videos, it’s such great information. I recommend your videos to everyone that’s pregnant 🤣
Am due in 3days and watching your videos. They are very helpful Thank you!!
