I’m so glad I watched this to remind me that I needed to practice. I started practicing my breathing every time I got a Braxton Hicks and it helped me to breathe by second nature when I was finally in labour.
The nurses were surprised that I was able to stay so calm.
I noticed myself having a few times where I was starting to lose it and I’d start my breathing again and it immediately brought me back to a calmer state. I managed to do the whole thing without an epidural which is something I’d really wanted for my labour

Update: I watched this video when I was 37 weeks pregnant I believe and at 39 weeks I was induced. It wasn’t any cause, I was healthy but just tired of being pregnant lol. Although it was my first time ever being pregnant, I can saying watching this video helped a lot and I’m glad I came across this page because I learned a lot which helped me have a successful delivery as well as prayer. Now I have a beautiful baby girl whose currently 2 months!!

But induced its not healthy..brings some consecuences that are still researching but are evident..psicoemotional speceally at future child adulthood...
Just to be " tired of pregnancy" ..lets be carefull what we share since other women feel is normal and good and its not. But the whole health sistem has been Programming us to think it is. Back to the roots ..read "You will delivery with pregnancy" of Merelo Barebá and Casilda Rodrigañez. Scientist and psicology with a lot of implicances research. Thanks God is safe your baby and you and thats in the end the most important..there is hipnosis for help to reduce those consecuences of being induced ..plus c section and others not natural intervention with only one century confronting milenials of natural bringing. The biggest war has being and still are for bringing humans being at not natural and armony way even if we want to convinced ourselves ...its not about guilty But about responsability for the world we are all cocreating. Blessings to all our families.

I currently have a 2 week old and just wanna thank you for the Lamaze breath that breath alone through out the beginning contractions and whole labor process got me through natural labor. My first labor experience I did not have any breathing technique at all and found myself tightening up and making cramps more unbearable for me I still went natural but it was unmanageable and I was so anxious but this time with the breathing process I was able to go natural again but manage the pain. PLEASE LADIES GET A BREATHING TECHNIQUE DOWN AND STICK WITH IT. When you’re doing it get out of your head about how you sound or silly it may be because man it’s worth it

It is the ultimate key to labour, I had a traumatic labour with my first because I was so out of control because no one would listen to me because I was young and I knew something wasn’t right but everyone just kept brushing me off and I panicked so much (I was right my son and I both nearly died). With my next 3 births I just went inside myself and focused on my breathing using some gas towards the end because my labours are only 2 hrs so they ramp up very quickly but it made all of them so calm and easy even with my youngest who was born on his side and was a 9 pounder so everyone started panicking a little but I just blocked them out and focused on breathing him down and out and 3 pushes later he was out and they were all in shock.

I had my baby on May 28. It was a difficult labor(my baby got stuck behind my cervix and was sideways coming out. I had the best OB who stayed hours overtime to deliver him!). I used the Bradley style breath through the whole thing and it helped SO much! Even the nurse commented on how great my breathing was. Focusing on the counting was difficult but I kept reminding myself to and I got through it! I HIGHLY recommend following her breathing techniques!!!

38 weeks pregnant with baby #3 & aiming for a natural, unmedicated birth (at a birth center). I've always heard of "gently breathing the baby down" but didn't realize what this entailed until I found your video. Now I am going to practice so that I can prepare for birthing my baby. I can also attest that relaxing the face & jaw in breathing out helps with contractions as well...for myself I found that deep inhales & long "mooing" or "moaning" exhales helped with managing my contractions during the birth of baby #2

Just found this video today. I'm going to recommend it to my daughter. Her first baby is due in April. I just mentioned this to her last night. She was like "Mama who does that"?. Poor Baby. She has no ldea. So l then informed her had l known how to do this with MY first baby, maybe l wouldnt have been in labor for 46 hrs. I learned more about it after the fact. Didnt worry so much before, because l have a high tolerance of pain. Lol yeah right. I later had a set of twins and another baby. Used the breathing and it was a much better exsperience. So it does make a difference. Thanks for sharing this video. It will help me, help her.

Honestly, the belly breathing style helps with the pain of the contraction the best because your actively stretching out your muscles while they are trying to contract and it makes them feel less intense. I am 39 weeks tomorrow with baby 3 and so ready to have him in my arms!

I started hyperventilating and freaking out! ☹️ I was given pitocin and the epidural and it did not help much :( next time I will try focusing on my breath and changing my mindset while having contractions. I wish my mommy was with me but because of COVID I only had my partner. He did his best to help calm me down but watching this vid made me believe I can have a better birthing experience next time ! 😅

    Yesterday morning, around 7am (aug 30th) I walked a peaceful 3 miles at 40wks and 2 days....I just gave birth at 2:22 am this morning.(aug 31)
Ladies do not fear the contractions. It’s pain with a purpose. It’s a marathon not a race. (I kept telling myself those lines) I was in the moment this tome (3rd birth, 2nd home birth) I rubbed my belly during contractions. I felt the uterus , I imagined it turning my baby.
I was fully 10cm faster then I could have imagined. I start having contractions at 7:37pm, by 10:30 pm my water broke, she checked me at 1 am and I just waited to feel the urge to push. She scared me (not on purpose she was checking the heart beat and felt he switched) by saying my baby was breeched and I tell you not, I though about going to the hospital but I pushed thru and kept saying I can’t wait to meet you. Then I felt like I had to poop. She tricked me and said sit on the toilet when I did that urge to push came so strong.
I got up and in three pushes he was out, head first.
You can do it. I didn’t have a man by my side. I had my mom for 3 hours along with my midwife when she arrived.
I watched this channel n really helped with the breathing techniques. Thank you guys for reading my essay. Oh yeah the after birth sucks, from birthing the placenta to the contracting and shrinking of the uterus. Ugh the worst. I didn’t tear by the way. Ok ttyl

I just combined these types of breathing with a little trick I came across today. The trick is to practice labor breathing techniques while holding an ice cube (to practice in a slightly more realistic setting, cause not all of us experience Braxton Hicks contractions and holding an ice cube gradually becomes more painful). I am thrilled for how long I managed to hold the ice cube and how empowered and in control I felt. I am 38 weeks along with my first baby so I don't really know what contractions feel like. Obviously I expect them to be muuuuuch more painful than the ice cube 😁 but I hope to feel at least just a little bit of this power over the pain during labor.

I was induced April 16th at 39 wks. VBAC:) 44 years old. Watched a bunch of your videos, prepared a lot, had lists of reminders of breathing thoughts/techniques, why to avoid epidural (did that last time), positions to assume when in labor and then during pushing, etc etc, mantras. Bought mood lighting, lollipops, etc:) I did do pitocin, so I did some serious screaming bloody murder lol, but as much as I could I tried to breath properly. I also, even when screaming, imagined my cervix opening up, and remembered that each contraction was progress towards the end goal and I exhaled downward through my tummy and out my vag. Not pushing, though. Anyhow, thank you for your videos. I had fun prepping and being in labor, being grateful for the moment to have a baby and not do c-section like last time. I has fine with it with first, but I decided I wanted it to be different for next birth.
