- I got lucky a few days ago and I was able to find a re-issued Hasbro Black Series standard Stormtrooper, or "TK," helmet for sale, brand new, at Amazon. It said they had nine (9) in stock, and as of the publishing of this video, there were still some available at the $110 price point.
Otherwise known as "TK" helmets due to the Stormtrooper designations in A New Hope, this helmet is a great buy for the price.

I got this helmet last year from Amazon for $70 and snapped it up! Seeing prices now...so glad I have one! It is fantastic for the money! Thanks for the comparisons...I'm still happy with my Black Series helmet.

Although more of a toy than a helmet, for the money, it sure is a great display piece and something that you don't have to worry about handling or passing around at the party for people to try on in photos because it is so sturdy! YAY!!! New helmet day. Have to love finding a good deal. I love the classic stormtrooper helmets, cant wait to see what customization you do to it. I enjoyed the comparison to the efx and anovos helmets. I am so disappointed in the sideshow helmet. I think the black series holds up pretty well for the price. Great video thanks of all the info.

Great helmet. That’s one that I actually did purchase. -but …. when I got home and opened it, found it all broken. it didn’t work. so I returned it and by the time I got back to the store they had sold out. so I got my money back and never found another one. heheh. ugh.

These are great helmets, maybe you can do a custom by weathering and giving it a remenat trooper look from the mandalorian or a sand trooper look would both look great. Another idea is a 501st trooper. Another great video love seeing you pop up on my page

Paul this video was both informative and hilarious! One day I may pickup a stormtrooper helmet so this sort of insight is massively helpful and it does seem that the BS helmet comes out on top. Hopefully I'll be able to track one down on the black market 🤣 I can't believe how impressive the BS helmet stands up next to the more expensive items and I'm not gonna lie, the $8k statue price tag stopped me in my tracks 👀

And I'm glad this helped in any way for you to make a decision on if, and which, Stormtrooper helmet you might pick up. And "black market!" I chuckled at that slip so much that I decided to leave it in and not edit it out! Haha! And yeah, that statue was a "grail purchase" but I often display the eFX helmet on it as opposed to the helmet it came with, and you can see what I might do that in this video. And yeah, I was (for once) smart enough to hold still when I squeezed that Sideshow helmet on my head so I wouldn't knock over my "$8000 statue!" Thanks for always checking in, Christian!

Gts from Australia 🇦🇺 Took your advice & got a TK storm trooper Hasbro black series square box when i saw it new in store $370 Aus . At the moment $1 Aus = around 65 cents US . I tend to like the variations of storm trooper helmets .

I hope they do a V2...My wishlist is an interior...moving the battery cover to the inside of the helmet and moving the speaker grills to the tear drop or rear trap.. would be almost perfect at that point.. Thanks for a great compariaon video. Great job as always

Amen to that! Missed this first time around but I have the Kylo Ren which has the same 'visually impressive' but don't look too close build quality. Looking at the Darth Vader V2 and now the forthcoming Scout Trooper helmet, they've really upped their game on the fit and finish of these helmets.
Hopefully they'll revisit this stormtrooper helmet and make the necessary improvements to interior finish and move the voice speaker grill to front, lots of places they can conceal it here without ruining the visual appeal of the design

This was the first black series helmet I ever bought, I remember been so disappointed with the so called Voice changer, but they do display amazingly well, and hold up next to higher end helmets, love a helmet video from our Paul 🤜🤛
Luke! Yeah.... the statue was a "grail piece" that I had wanted for decades. So it was worth the one time. It was hilarious when it was delivered because it came in a literal PALLET of boxes they had to forklift into my garage. One of my oldest videos is the unboxing and building of the thing. I think the $8000 was tied up in all the cardboard they sent me! haha!! And I've never even put batteries in any of my Black Series helmets, so I have no first-hand knowledge of the voice changer. I've seen videos of it though, and the thing sounds laughable! Luckily I, like you, only display the thing and don't try to "troop" around in it! How do the audio work on the ST helmets at Disney World?
I'm sorry, ZC, but I don't have any experience with any of those helmets that you get at Disney Land/World. That being said, I don't imagine the technology they use for the voice changers is radically different from what the Black Series is using. And the Black Series helmet voice changers are worthless. They don't do much of anything and are not worth considering when contemplating a purchase of one of these helmets. Hope that helps...
The black series stormtrooper helmet is a landmark product, based upon the R1 sculpt, still slightly undersized, but at the end of the day is a toy, now doubled in value 5 years on, there is a lot more accurate available for your money but still a very nice product

On my videos, I try to keep it high level for everyone because I understand that not everybody is so in depth in to the helmets like you and I. But every point and fact you make here is spot on! You've probably been asked 1000 times but what kind of display case are those and what mounts you using to hold the helmets?
Never were truer words spoken, Mean Arena! haha! THOUSANDS of times at least! It' all good though! I don't mind answering this one. I use Detolf glass cabinets from Ikea to display them. The stands are just 12" tall, brushed metal paper towel holders like you can find at any kitchen homewares store or on Amazon. I try to be creative, practical and innovative (at least as much as I am capable of) in displaying my collection to minimize cost and maximize visual attractiveness. Just bought one but it didn't come in clear plastic but white paper. 2 pieces were already attached and the top part wasn't attached but in the bottom.

I've never heard of nor seen the paper wrapping you received, but the Artillery Stormtrooper helmet I bought from them did come with only the dome piece apart like your Stormtrooper's did. I agree! this is a great helmet! And funny you should ask about Bo Katan's helmet! I had been eyeing a custom one at an Etsy shop for some months and finally pulled the trigger and bought it recently. Two weeks later, they introduce the Black Series version. So? Yeah... now I have TWO Bo Katan helmets coming as I'm not passing on that Black Series one for sure! haha! Thanks for checking out the video!

Del, I am using 12" tall brushed metal paper towel holders. The kind you can find at any home wares store like Bed Bath and Beyond and Costco. They work great and are inexpensive!

I can't argue with that, Ricky. Despite it's flaws, for the price, the Hasbro helmet is a really great buy. It's sturdy, displays well, fits on my head and doesn't break the bank. Thanks for checking the video out!

Hey man, this is gonna be a long comment and I don’t even know if you will ever see this, but
I really really love the stormtrooper helmet that you reviewed, but why are they sold out on Amazon all the time, My birthday was weeks ago. :( Do you maybe know where I can get one that doesn’t like arrive in April of 2024? All the other videos on this helmet just had a link to the one that isn’t in stock anymore.
And I also have a question:
Is there any way to darken the lenses? I have seen some different reviews on this helmet and you could see the eyes and head of the wearer and that kinda annoys me.

Hey, Quietkid! Thanks for asking and I try to reply to ALL my comments. This is a great helmet for the price, and I appreciate the kind words about the review video. Unfortunately, this helmet was initially release close to seven or eight years ago now, and when you run across stock somewhere on Amazon, it's because of a newly-found back catalog, or a limited re-issue. The rest you find are people who picked them up new, saved them, and are now re-selling them, usually at a steep profit. That's a long way to go to tell you that the only place you might find one of these ready to ship right now is somewhere like eBay or other local vintage/small toy shops that have snagged one from somewhere and are now selling it. That's why it's so magnificent that Hasbro is doing this re-release, because otherwise these are super-hard to find at a decent price. As for the lenses, I know of no reliable way to darken the plastic in them. However, you can buy darker plastic from various sources, like welding supply stores, cut a new, darker lens, take the helmet apart, and install a darker lens. This is obviously a fairly involved process, but if you watch a couple videos of other customizing these, take your time, and are patient, you can install a different lens. I hope this helped, and I'm sorry I don't have better news for you. And, your English is excellent! Thanks for stopping by and checking out the video!

I love the design of mine but it is the worst fitting helmet. And the microphone is garbage. The new sequel Storm Trooper helmets are so much better.
Totally agree with you, Forsaken! These older helmets had a very anemic rigging system inside making it uncomfortable to wear for any length of time. Plus, that silly voice changer with the battery pack and external speaker does more to ruin the look of the helmet that having any functional use. The new helmets Hasbro has been putting out are leaps and bounds better. My Artillery Stormtrooper helmet is on the way as I write this, so I am eager to see if they have improved upon the design. yeah, that voice changer is so annoying. I guess they just want to make it a little more for kids, but if they want to do that, than they should just put some voice lines from the movies, not a crummy voice changer.
also, the efx helmet looks a little strange.

I was going to pre-order the plain storm trooper helmet on the Hasbro website but it sold out before it was even in stock. Also it was a 8 month wait

Hey, DonutLover! An excellent question. I too have a gargantua-melon (Size 8) and find many of these Hasbro helmets do fit me. Specifically, this Hasbro Stormtrooper helmet does fit me, just barely, if I remember correctly. The good news is that if it is a little too small, you're still good to go. You can just pop out the head rigging inside and install bicycle helmet padding to your taste inside or Airsoft helmet padding in the same fashion. Truth be told, taking out that uncomfortable head rig inside there and adding your own padding is a much better option, regardless of whether the helmet fits as-is or not. Happy helmet'ing!
