Great review Paul! I personally think your custom helmet is MUCH better than the hasbro edition of the artillery trooper helmet. I thought the weathering on the hasbro one was really lousy and didnt even look weathered at all and just looked like the stripes were painted over in white. If your going to make a weathered version you can’t just paint it over in white to make it looked scratched and leave the rest of the helmet looking like it’s never seen action. Your weathering around the other parts of the helmet added some character that I don’t think the hasbro one had at all. The voice changer part on the side of the helmet didn’t look fantastic and the battery pack and speaker on the back really holds me back from buying any hasbro stormtrooper helmets. If I were you I’d display your custom helmet not just because it looks much better but because of the work you put into it. Loved the review!

I much prefer your custom....I missed out on the original TK.... It's weird, I was walking past 'Forbidden Planet' comic store for months......and glancing through the window without really zeroing in on this....I guess I must've thought "that must be £1000 for a Stormtrooper helmet" or something...I don't know! But by the time I had heard of the Black Series collection I'd missed it.. But I have one of these and considering customising it to all white Great video...👍💯

They were never gonna update the bucket, probably because it’s literally an old stormtrooper helmet, stick some yellow paint on it, re-box it, here ya go it’s a “mortor” trooper helmet . I was holding out hope they'd do us proud, but ultimately, as you astutely pointed out, I figured they'd just slosh some yellow paint on the old mold and pump it out at a higher price... and that's exactly what they did. I'm happy for the repaint myself. I didn't have an Imperial Stormtrooper helmet. I missed the boat on the original and the flame trooper and now they're expensive online. Though to be honest, I would much rather have one of those other ones, I'm just happy I have an Imp Stormtrooper helmet now.
An excellent point, Mike, for sure. I was lucky on a couple of mine and have never had to buy at a secondarily inflated price. Have you seen what the Black Series Kylo Ren is going for lately? WOW! At any rate, this is a great helmet and and good example of a Stormtrooper helmet for display. I just wish they'd improved that silly battery pack and speaker. Have you considered buying another and custom painting the accents red to make your own Incinerator Trooper? It's not hard. I purchased this helmet 2 weeks ago . My first helmet $218 Australian. Have an affinity with artillery having fired a 105 pack Howitzer ( joke deaf in right ear) my only disappointment is the voice changer which is crap but , i knew this from reviews. My wife has got me Darth vader black series for xmas and it looks & sounds awesome. The Tie fighter is pretty cool looking . O.M.G . I think this could become very addictive & I'm 70 😂

Hey, Lt Wolf. Good question. I'm assuming you have let out the interior webbing as far as it can go. If so, and the helmet is still too tight, you can pop that interior harness out all together and and just use bicycle helmet pads inside, or any other type of padding for that matter, to place inside to give you more room. This also will allow you to place padding wherever you need to adjust the fit of the helmet. As a guy with a size 8 head, I definitely can empathize with your plight! Hope it works out!

Great review Paul. I wish on the voice changer they could figure out a cost effective way to utilize the chin vents as speakers instead of putting the speaker in the back, it really ruins it for me. By the way I’m up to 3 helmets now so I fear I might be slowly becoming a helmet collector but we’ll see, lol.
See, THAT'S a great idea, Brett! The chin vents would make a perfect way to camouflage a speaker, and the batter pack could be placed inside the helmet in a void space. Three helmets you say? Uh oh. You're sliding down a path from which there is no return, my friend! haha! They take a lot of display space. As you can see behind me, I display almost none of my 500+ figure collection because of all the helmets I have! And even they aren't all displayed... Display space: it's a never ending battle, am I right? haha! I can't wait to see helmets in YOUR background!

Oh! That's a brilliant, diplomatic take, Genkiba! I could totally see that. I was too scared to weather my yellow stripe, and that's ALL Hasbro weathered. Together, these would make one great helmet. And stand by. They just recently introduced the Phase II Clone helmet. I get the feeling they will make use of that mold with several repaints! Hopefully, at least! Another great review video Paul. I really enjoy this trooper more than I thought I would, however I think it is cause the weapon they use, mortar shots in star wars....Yes please. At the end, however, I was kind of proud of how it came out. But I agree with you. Hasbro should have just left the yellow accents on this newest helmet solid and given us an all-clean, brand version of the helmet, as opposed to that silly weathering. And like you, this Artillery trooper is amongst my favorites. I love the mortar weapon (former Army Field Artilleryman here!) Did you notice his ammunition is simply the Thermal Detonator tube they wear on the back of their armor, in the small of their backs?! I loved that little detail! MdNsR, this is called "rubber blooming." The natural material used to make the rubber is migrating to the surface for a variety of possible reasons. I'd start off with a Q-Tip in some plain water and try wiping it off like that. If that doesn't achieve the desire result, you can add just a tiny bit of dish soap and alternate using soapy Q-Tips then plain water Q-Tips to rinse the areas after. And if that doesn't achieve the result you are looking for, you can, after the areas have dried, squirt Armor All into a plate until it pools up a little. Then dip the Q-Tip in Armor All and lightly go over the affected areas. Hope this helps! Thanks for checking out the video as well!

That's a good question, N7. I have never tried it, so I'm not sure. You could try nail polish remover or a light paint thinner on a dry rag. If so, start somewhere indiscreet on the back of the helmet to see how it goes. Also keep in mind, most items that will remove the paint will likely damage the plastic helmet as well. It may take a lot longer, and require more patience, but you might be better off taping off the helmet and spraying it with a nice gloss white paint if you're trying to make it a standard stormtrooper.
#Custom for display for obvious reasons as well as the fact it’s meant for that when you repainted it, and the #Hasbro is more of just a toy and meant for that.

Oh, nice to hear, WightMonk! And yeah, the classic stormtrooper is a great helmet. I think it'd be worth the trouble to custom pant one of these for yourself for sure. In the interim, keep your eye on Amazon and the like. I got one of the original stormtrooper helmets YEARS ago when it first came out as a gift. Late to the party, both with collecting the helmets and getting my hands on a stormtrooper. Personally, I may have a big head, there is no way I can wear this helmet or any of the earlier stormtrooper ones made with this mold. The New Order one fits me great, and is comfy, so I guess I am a New Order trooper now. Mandalorian will fit me great when/if I make my own padding instead of the rubber bands. Bo Katan fits me better(doesnt squish my nose as much as Mando with the standard rubber bands). Darth Vader is a hazard to my beard but fits snuggly. Boba Re-armored doesnt fit at all with the wheel adjustable band, so if I want to wear it I need to customize it. Wedge/Luke/Wolf I need to make some slightly thinner side and top padding, but works well. I have hopes for the Clone II (I haven't watched your review of that one yet, in fear you say it's smaller ( :P ), and hope that they get around to remodeling the Stormtrooper with better interior for the next version they eventually will make. All in all, great display pieces, but I wish they came in more sizes. #custom looks better
Well, Ralp, good to have you and welcome to the helmet collecting party! I must admit, I am shocked to hear that none of the Black series helmets fit you well. I too have a huge head (size 8) and so many of my helmets do not fit on my head. However, to date, the Black Series helmets have all gone on without any trouble. I too remove the interior head rigging and the padding idea is a good one. Thank you for weighing in and voting. That custom one is snazzy and I am happy with how it turned out. I ended up displaying it, disassembling the Black Series version, re-boxing, and storing it for use later.
@@PaulsCollectibles I just recently got my hands on the Phase 2, and it fit me great, I can almost have my glasses on in that one and my nose is barely touched. So now I have 2 helmets that are comfortable. I also did experiment with padding on the Boba helmet and at made it wearable, with some nose rubbing. I am more and more happy with the black series helmets. Now to wait for the scout trooper... If it fits, I'll have to get myself a few of those, to repaint into my favorite "non canon" trooper, the Storm Commando.

I feel that if commander cody still alive and serving the empire few years after order 66 he pretty much would be inside that stormtrooper helmet because of the yellow color but i mean he use orange but sometimes looks a little yellow.

That helmet above the Shock Trooper(?), to the right of the Scout-- What is that? It's in the revived Star Wars Galaxies: Legends, but it's from Bespin, which was added by the emulator's devs. Interesting.

I've been looking for a helmet to buy and I liked the shock trooper and incendiary trooper but can find them have they been discontinued? And is there any way of finding out what helmets are in stock and what ones are discontinued?

The Incinerator Trooper and Shock Trooper helmets might be found on eBay, Amazon, at specialty toy and comic stores (like Holochron in Austin, TX) or other online retailers. The Shock Trooper has gotten VERY expensive on the secondary market, though. If you keep watch though, some times helmets are re-issued. I got my Boba Fett helmet and Stormtrooper helmet when they were re-issued. Check the links I'll provide after for details. As for "in-stock" and current, the best places to catch current helmets at retail or on sale will be Entertainment Earth and Big Bad Toy Store. why is your custom helmet mat white? I think I'd pick yours if it wasn't for the fact that the mat and glossy clash a bit too much for me. It should be glossy all around the helmet and the colors added can be mat, because we know the helmets are glossy and reflective. Did it come this way?

So, the painted custom was originally an Incinerator Trooper helmet as you know by watching the video. For some odd reason, the Incinerator Trooper helmets came in a matte finish. It was so weird. And I agree, the shiny yellow stripe I put on it clashes. So, I was actually thinking of repainting this new Artillery Trooper helmet (since it has a shiny finish) with a fresh new yellow stripe and accents in shiny Marigold spray paint. We shall see! I actually absolutely agree with you, Simon. When I first started into helmets, I wasn't going to get any of the silly Stormtrooper color variations like the Shock Trooper, the Stormtrooper Commander and the like. And I damned sure wasn't going to get any of the "Skittle colored" Mandalorian helmets. Yet, here I am. I find myself unable to say no to new helmets, especially trooper ones, and I have no idea how that happened. You have a more "professional" helmet collection as I can tell from your videos. I love it! Point being, I totally agree with your position, but have no willpower! haha! At any rate, I always enjoy having you stop by and weigh in on my helmet videos. Great review Paul! I personally think your custom helmet is MUCH better than the hasbro edition of the artillery trooper helmet. I thought the weathering on the hasbro one was really lousy and didnt even look weathered at all and just looked like the stripes were painted over in white. If your going to make a weathered version you can’t just paint it over in white to make it looked scratched and leave the rest of the helmet looking like it’s never seen action. Your weathering around the other parts of the helmet added some character that I don’t think the hasbro one had at all. The voice changer part on the side of the helmet didn’t look fantastic and the battery pack and speaker on the back really holds me back from buying any hasbro stormtrooper helmets. If I were you I’d display your custom helmet not just because it looks much better but because of the work you put into it. Loved the review!

The product does not justify the price. It was made cheaply and it shows in every detail.
I much prefer your custom....I missed out on the original TK.... It's weird, I was walking past 'Forbidden Planet' comic store for months......and glancing through the window without really zeroing in on this....I guess I must've thought "that must be £1000 for a Stormtrooper helmet" or something...I don't know!

I missed the original run of the standard TK back when it first came out as well. Luckily I was gifted one. Then, like five years later, they were available on Amazon, so I snagged another. It's kind of like what is happening with the Boba Fett Prototype helmet right now. After years of being insanely priced on the secondary market, they suddenly are available at Entertainment Earth and Big Bad Toy Store again. So never lose hope! haha! There’s no question here!!! They were never gonna update the bucket, probably because it’s literally an old stormtrooper helmet, stick some yellow paint on it, re-box it, here ya go it’s a “mortor” trooper helmet .

I'm happy for the repaint myself. I didn't have an Imperial Stormtrooper helmet. I missed the boat on the original and the flame trooper and now they're expensive online. Though to be honest, I would much rather have one of those other ones, I'm just happy I have an Imp Stormtrooper helmet now.

At any rate, this is a great helmet and and good example of a Stormtrooper helmet for display. I just wish they'd improved that silly battery pack and speaker. I purchased this helmet 2 weeks ago . My first helmet $218 Australian. Have an affinity with artillery having fired a 105 pack Howitzer ( joke deaf in right ear) my only disappointment is the voice changer which is crap but , i knew this from reviews. My wife has got me Darth vader black series for xmas and it looks & sounds awesome. The Tie fighter is pretty cool looking . O.M.G . I think this could become very addictive & I'm 70 😂

Hi Paul my boba fett helmet has recently not been fitting my head as well as it used too is there anyway I can adjust and fix this?
Hey, Lt Wolf. Good question. I'm assuming you have let out the interior webbing as far as it can go. If so, and the helmet is still too tight, you can pop that interior harness out all together and and just use bicycle helmet pads inside, or any other type of padding for that matter, to place inside to give you more room. This also will allow you to place padding wherever you need to adjust the fit of the helmet. As a guy with a size 8 head, I definitely can empathize with your plight! Hope it works out!

Great review Paul. I wish on the voice changer they could figure out a cost effective way to utilize the chin vents as speakers instead of putting the speaker in the back, it really ruins it for me. By the way I’m up to 3 helmets now so I fear I might be slowly becoming a helmet collector but we’ll see, lol.
See, THAT'S a great idea, Brett! The chin vents would make a perfect way to camouflage a speaker, and the batter pack could be placed inside the helmet in a void space. Three helmets you say? Uh oh. You're sliding down a path from which there is no return, my friend! haha! They take a lot of display space. As you can see behind me, I display almost none of my 500+ figure collection because of all the helmets I have! And even they aren't all displayed... Display space: it's a never ending battle, am I right? haha! I can't wait to see helmets in YOUR background!

Oh! That's a brilliant, diplomatic take, Genkiba! I could totally see that. I was too scared to weather my yellow stripe, and that's ALL Hasbro weathered. Together, these would make one great helmet. And stand by. They just recently introduced the Phase II Clone helmet. I get the feeling they will make use of that mold with several repaints! Hopefully, at least! At the end, however, I was kind of proud of how it came out. But I agree with you. Hasbro should have just left the yellow accents on this newest helmet solid and given us an all-clean, brand version of the helmet, as opposed to that silly weathering. And like you, this Artillery trooper is amongst my favorites. I love the mortar weapon (former Army Field Artilleryman here!) Did you notice his ammunition is simply the Thermal Detonator tube they wear on the back of their armor, in the small of their backs?! I loved that little detail! The rubber chin on mine started turning white.. so as the brow trim.. any advice on how to restore them?
MdNsR, this is called "rubber blooming." The natural material used to make the rubber is migrating to the surface for a variety of possible reasons. I'd start off with a Q-Tip in some plain water and try wiping it off like that. If that doesn't achieve the desire result, you can add just a tiny bit of dish soap and alternate using soapy Q-Tips then plain water Q-Tips to rinse the areas after. And if that doesn't achieve the result you are looking for, you can, after the areas have dried, squirt Armor All into a plate until it pools up a little. Then dip the Q-Tip in Armor All and lightly go over the affected areas. Hope this helps! Thanks for checking out the video as well!

That's a good question, N7. I have never tried it, so I'm not sure. You could try nail polish remover or a light paint thinner on a dry rag. If so, start somewhere indiscreet on the back of the helmet to see how it goes. Also keep in mind, most items that will remove the paint will likely damage the plastic helmet as well. It may take a lot longer, and require more patience, but you might be better off taping off the helmet and spraying it with a nice gloss white paint if you're trying to make it a standard stormtrooper.
#Custom for display for obvious reasons as well as the fact it’s meant for that when you repainted it, and the #Hasbro is more of just a toy and meant for that.

Oh, nice to hear, WightMonk! And yeah, the classic stormtrooper is a great helmet. I think it'd be worth the trouble to custom pant one of these for yourself for sure. In the interim, keep your eye on Amazon and the like. I got one of the original stormtrooper helmets YEARS ago when it first came out as a gift. Late to the party, both with collecting the helmets and getting my hands on a stormtrooper.
Personally, I may have a big head, there is no way I can wear this helmet or any of the earlier stormtrooper ones made with this mold.
The New Order one fits me great, and is comfy, so I guess I am a New Order trooper now.
Mandalorian will fit me great when/if I make my own padding instead of the rubber bands.
Bo Katan fits me better(doesnt squish my nose as much as Mando with the standard rubber bands).
Darth Vader is a hazard to my beard but fits snuggly.
Boba Re-armored doesnt fit at all with the wheel adjustable band, so if I want to wear it I need to customize it.
Wedge/Luke/Wolf I need to make some slightly thinner side and top padding, but works well.
I have hopes for the Clone II (I haven't watched your review of that one yet, in fear you say it's smaller ( :P ), and hope that they get around to remodeling the Stormtrooper with better interior for the next version they eventually will make.
All in all, great display pieces, but I wish they came in more sizes.

Well, Ralp, good to have you and welcome to the helmet collecting party! I must admit, I am shocked to hear that none of the Black series helmets fit you well. I too have a huge head (size 8) and so many of my helmets do not fit on my head. However, to date, the Black Series helmets have all gone on without any trouble. I too remove the interior head rigging and the padding idea is a good one. Thank you for weighing in and voting. That custom one is snazzy and I am happy with how it turned out. I ended up displaying it, disassembling the Black Series version, re-boxing, and storing it for use later.
@@PaulsCollectibles I just recently got my hands on the Phase 2, and it fit me great, I can almost have my glasses on in that one and my nose is barely touched. So now I have 2 helmets that are comfortable. I also did experiment with padding on the Boba helmet and at made it wearable, with some nose rubbing. I am more and more happy with the black series helmets. Now to wait for the scout trooper... If it fits, I'll have to get myself a few of those, to repaint into my favorite "non canon" trooper, the Storm Commando.

I feel that if commander cody still alive and serving the empire few years after order 66 he pretty much would be inside that stormtrooper helmet because of the yellow color but i mean he use orange but sometimes looks a little yellow.

I've actually thought about doing that very thing, Mira. I live in the desert of Arizona and am waiting for the weather to cool down this winter so I can work in my garage again. I think this one will be amongst a number of customization projects for sure!

The Incinerator Trooper and Shock Trooper helmets might be found on eBay, Amazon, at specialty toy and comic stores (like Holochron in Austin, TX) or other online retailers. The Shock Trooper has gotten VERY expensive on the secondary market, though. If you keep watch though, some times helmets are re-issued. I got my Boba Fett helmet and Stormtrooper helmet when they were re-issued. Check the links I'll provide after for details. As for "in-stock" and current, the best places to catch current helmets at retail or on sale will be Entertainment Earth and Big Bad Toy Store. why is your custom helmet mat white? I think I'd pick yours if it wasn't for the fact that the mat and glossy clash a bit too much for me. It should be glossy all around the helmet and the colors added can be mat, because we know the helmets are glossy and reflective. Did it come this way?
Nice catch, Oberon! No one else has ever mentioned that about the custom. You read my mind, of sorts. So, the painted custom was originally an Incinerator Trooper helmet as you know by watching the video. For some odd reason, the Incinerator Trooper helmets came in a matte finish. It was so weird. And I agree, the shiny yellow stripe I put on it clashes. So, I was actually thinking of repainting this new Artillery Trooper helmet (since it has a shiny finish) with a fresh new yellow stripe and accents in shiny Marigold spray paint. We shall see! Agree, CwC. This one was a bit of a letdown for sure. Especially since I was holding out a shred of hope they'd upgrade the manufacturing and painting process this time... and this is one of my favorite troopers, hands down. But ultimately, I'll still pick up every trooper helmet they give us since I'm some sort of junky or something! haha! Thanks for checking out the video!

I agree, Christopher. This was a great moment for them to upgrade the helmet build and offer us more, quality repaints. That being said, the yellow does pop, as you mention, and it's why this guy is my favorite Stormtrooper variant! Thanks for your vote, as well. I'm interested to see how this turns out!
Great review as always, I couldn't invest in this or the incinerator, I would rather just get another sandtrooper, hero or stunt tbh. The colour schemes are garish to me, but it's still very cool that these things are available
I actually absolutely agree with you, Simon. When I first started into helmets, I wasn't going to get any of the silly Stormtrooper color variations like the Shock Trooper, the Stormtrooper Commander and the like. And I damned sure wasn't going to get any of the "Skittle colored" Mandalorian helmets. Yet, here I am. I find myself unable to say no to new helmets, especially trooper ones, and I have no idea how that happened. You have a more "professional" helmet collection as I can tell from your videos. I love it! Point being, I totally agree with your position, but have no willpower! haha! At any rate, I always enjoy having you stop by and weigh in on my helmet videos. Based upon your credentials, your opinion means a lot to me. Thank you!

It will, Caiden. It fits my adult-sized head, and the adjustable strap inside gets pretty small. So you should be good to go if you get one.

I can see that. I think if they re-introduced the plain white Stormtrooper helmet, they would sell out again for sure. People love that design. I'm not so mad they went with the Artillery Trooper on this one. I just wish they'd taken the opportunity to upgrade the little details of the helmet and maybe taken more care with the "weathering."
