He must've known he will be sentenced days before his sentencing and sent the letters so he will be freed due to the new evidence. Or, and this is my theory; he didn't commit the crime alone. Imo he asked the other person to write and send these letters so he can be freed. Also, murderers rarely unalive their victims in different ways so imo he stabbed two while the other person did the rest to the poor kid and because he wasn't mentioned by witnesses, the police and the court did not look for a second person

Evil has no age. If a 13 year old tries to kill his whole family, and succeeded with his parents, he should be trialed as an adult. There’s something very wrong with him, that needed more than one year in a psych ward to address.

I hate when it's said "he had a normal childhood and upbringing" and then right after "his dad shot the family dog in front of him". It's never normal and good. It's always bad in one way or another: neglect, violence, abuse. Crime is STRICTLY connected with bad parenting and lack of love. There's no such a thing as a perfectly normal and nice family that randomly produces a serial killer. There's always something when you look into it. Don't get me wrong, I don't understand killing at all. But it's almost like I understand serial killers MORE than I can understand this guy. At least with a serial killer we can gather that they're sick...depraved...have some underlying NEED to do what they do, and they can't control it. I look at it sort of like an addiction for them. It's a disease of their mind. But this guy Tim. WTF? Who just goes and kills an entire family once...for NO REASON and then just goes about living a normal life? Did he simply decide that killing wasn't for him anymore? Maybe they were on his bucket list of things to do in life? (Go skydiving-check, kill a family-check, visit Italy-check). I mean seriously.....WTF?
I have so many unanswered questions about Charlie (the last case)... I thought he shot his mom and dad? Did his dad survive? How did the sister running away protect the younger 2 siblings (minor question lol)? What about his children? How did they convince the siblings that their mom died in a car crash? I understand when they were young, but I'd think that they would eventually look into it for themselves when they got older. Did he just leave them in the house with a bunch of dead bodies? I'm assuming that it would have said if he'd killed them. Who ended up with his children (Charlie's already traumatized sister?)?
1. he said in the video the dad only ended up severely injured 2. the sister running protected the other kids because charlie had to chase her out the house and away to try and stop her from getting help in time 3. the siblings were young kids who had no way of finding out charlie shot the parents other than if they somehow connected him leaving for a year after the deaths later in life to that incident 4. the dad kept the all living siblings, and again it was stated in the video that after the year in psychiatric care that charlie returned to the family and I guess they all just decided to forgive and forget as fast as they could since the sister that was almost shot but ran said charlie didnt look like himself but seemed to be in a trance
Im curious to know why did he commit suicide after he killed michelle and his wife? As stated in the video he killed a lot of people because it looks like he was experimenting on them, why did he kill himself?

For me, it's not even that but....I have two questions:
1, Why didn't anyone think of the possibility that Hennis wrote the letters?
2, if the reason is because the letters were not from a place he could've been sending them than there's two possibilities.

Charlie proves that some killers are born. As we have always suspected. Hopefully we can finally stop ignoring neuropsychology and realize that some people do need to be kept under close watch if they are let out.
@crema de la soda you're pathetic if you think that
@crema de la soda animals Sanctity of life is considered lower than humans
Are you stupid? If his father is the type of guy to think that it's ok to shoot a family pet directly in front of the son, I highly doubt he had a great family life/came from good people. I dont think he was "born" I think his father made him a piece of shit.
True. But also we still need to keep going with the forensic evidence.
Some people really don't have mental disorders but just are learned that killing is normal or something like that and are just natural monsters. Although I can't be really sure with Charlie's case.
@@mrslick58 you're a sadistic individual if you really think humans have more right to live over anything else. This world is not ours! The animals have been here long before us and hopefully long after we're gone.
It's chilling how Hennis' shadow of a smile in his mugshot doesn't become obvious until you know he is bad news.
If Charlie were judged as the criminal he was and not as a ''poor sad child'' 30 people would be alive.
Gosh, what a shocker that Charlie killed again after nearly killing all of his family .

The Scarey part is this could be your neighbor. We just don't know people behind their door, their world of secrets ! I myself think of that stuff more than a person should and I have reasons why I do. I'm very cautious of ALL
The same here. Betrayal by someone you loved is heartbreaking. I don’t trust anyone.
Very true. My neighbor didnt realize how thin our walls were. His voice carried and I could hear how he talked to his gf. Put her down, mocked and just verbally abusive. Anytime I'd run into them outside or on the patio he was always very friendly and helpful. So two faced, it was creepy. They moved away and I worry about her to this day.
So very true I had a neighbor he always helped me and my grandma with anything turns out he was beating his girlfriend in front of their 4 kids

I have a newfound and intense respect and reverence for the United States army. It's beyond frustrating that ruthless cold-blooded murderers can get away with horrendous crimes on pure technicalities...laws, amendments and at times even the way they're written. I so love Mr. Ballen ! Amazing story teller!
Evil has no age. If a 13 year old tries to kill his whole family, and succeeded with his parents, he should be trialed as an adult. There’s something very wrong with him, that needed more than one year in a psych ward to address.
Timothy's case: It shouldn't be surprising that there was no foreign evidence on his Members Only jacket because it was stated Timothy had just taken the jacket to the cleaners.

Timothy Hennis lived approximately 15 minutes, from where I've lived almost my entire life..DR. Jeffery MacDonald even closer. However, Chris Watts actually grew-up and lived even closer to my home, in Vass, N.C. Chris Watts parents home, is right next door to my better half's former supervisor, where he worked in tool and dye at a factory in a neighboring town. When folks says "it's a small World"...It really is, it's much smaller than we realize. It's also numerous unsolved serial killings/rapes in Fayetteville, N.C, tons of unsolved murders, and human trafficking at an enormous rate. BTW, the absolute worst drivers in S. Eastern N.C are in Fayetteville, N.C and if you do drive there, keep your doors locked, where your seatbelt and(for those who carry) have your loaded gun in arms reach.
U lived near murderers!
Hell just hell.
And there was also unsolved murder of beverley jaye potter mintz, leland NC I don't know you remember this as well?

What''s crazy about Hennis is he could have gotten away with it if he hadn't joined the military. 0_0 I also remember first hearing about Charlie on 48 Hours Mystery when I was 12 and it's just as surreal to me now as it was then. What creeps me out the most is how normal he looks in his picture and how his life looked on the outside. It's not until you dig into his past and see what he was capable of that you see who he really was. A monster.

I heard a podcast on the last one a while back and thought it was the wildest thing I'd ever heard. Then I watched this and was like, "Oh, there was MORE????" A lot more, apparently. Great job again, EWU
The fact that his sister, Angela, didn't tell her brother's wife about his past is already dysfunctional as heck. How do you even expect someone who wanted to kill his entire family at 13 to be NORMAL when he goes back home at 14?
Negative, some people are wired differently. Those other factors obviously ring relevant in SOME cases. Definitely not all.
@@frankiethefrog1752 That's only for the absolute minority of cases that feature actual brain damage or abnormality such as schizophrenia, which is most definitely not "had a perfectly normal and fine childhood and upbringing, then suddenly flipped, lol".

The one with the Timothy guy as the killer, all you have to do is look at his mugshot to know he did it... Hes smiling, not really with his lips but more with his eyes. He knew he was gonna find a way out of it at the time it happened, just didnt realize the military could re-tri him.
Wow Charlie was only 13 and too young to be trialed for murder so he gets sent to a psych hospital instead only to be released a year later where he eventually becomes a serial killer and kills 24 people is mindboggling!! 😱
1st story was insane, took listening twice to get it. So guy pretended to be 6 people online. Persona #1 convinced someone to murder Persona #2. INSANE! All bc he couldn’t bring himself to commit suicide.
I'll never understand these murders like the guy Tim's. Seemingly...aside from this one family killing...he's lived a normal life, had a wife, family etc.
But I just can't wrap my head around the idea of killing one time...and then going on to live a normal life.

1. he said in the video the dad only ended up severely injured
2. the sister running protected the other kids because charlie had to chase her out the house and away to try and stop her from getting help in time
3. the siblings were young kids who had no way of finding out charlie shot the parents other than if they somehow connected him leaving for a year after the deaths later in life to that incident
4. the dad kept the all living siblings, and again it was stated in the video that after the year in psychiatric care that charlie returned to the family and I guess they all just decided to forgive and forget as fast as they could since the sister that was almost shot but ran said charlie didnt look like himself but seemed to be in a trance
Im curious to know why did he commit suicide after he killed michelle and his wife? As stated in the video he killed a lot of people because it looks like he was experimenting on them, why did he kill himself?
This is my first time watching EWU very professionally done ,informative and factual, needless to say .Its very sad to learn of so many heinous crimes.Btw,they should have never let Charlie go back into society.
