Regarding the last story, the person responsible for giving him freedom,to then go on to kill a pregnant woman and her children,is as guilty as the murderer !!! They would still be alive today. 😭😭😭😭
No single person was responsible for his freedom. It's systemic, and applies to everyone under the US federal government. If convicted of a crime, and sentenced to be released after a certain amount of time, that is what happens. There is no psychology delegation of people thrown in jail for crimes not punishable by life. We can't punish people based on our feelings about a a person. Only their actions. Predicting people's future actions isn't a card that can be played, at any point, in professionalism. You can only ascertain what has been accomplished. There is no such a thing as a "thought police".

There is another documentary totally dedicated to this story that shows his "room" and pictures of how he got around in the walls. I'm almost positive it was an ID (investigation discovery) show but I can't remember what series it was from. If you search the name of the guy you should be able to find it.
The house was of the older variety, IIRC, where there were crawlspaces for maintenance and such. Like you seen in the movies sometimes, I think? It's a somewhat confusing part of American architecture.
The McStay family is so tragic, but I’m glad it was solved at all- I had this terrible feeling when we first heard about it that it was something that was just going to go unsolved forever and no one would ever find these people. 😭 Obviously wish it had a better end, but I’m glad that at least the crime was solved.
Haven't seen anyone else mention this so, it's very cool that you guys caption all your videos and do so in detail, I personally don't need the captions but i'm sure it's extremely helpful for anyone who does, and should be more normalized on youtube!
Rather than 15-year old Annie "should" have paid more attention to Brian's (a stranger's) phone calls, perhaps it would be more apt to say that an older teen girl (as in 17 - 19) might have questioned it more.
As for the Daniel case... I hadn't heard how this began. I had heard the story before, I think from MrBallen... but I agree that it's ridiculous that NOTHING happened to him after doing that shit to the girls. And what's the explanation behind him just randomly phoning the girl?? Did he see her name in her mother's obituary?? YIKES.

Because the girl went to live there so they could do it for her protection being that her family just got killed. If she didnt go to his house they couldnt had done it
I’m assuming it’s something about an investigation into a murder, the police were REALLY wanting to find him so by any means necessary I guess. I’m glad they did it in retrospect
I laughed out loud when he said that. He isn't wrong, lol. I can't believe that creep was living in the walls,he is definitely a psychopath. Glad he is in prison, but so sad he killed that family.
Wow, it's legal to put a hidden camera in a citizens residence in Australia? Glad they caught the killer, but in america that would be definitely illegal
@@roxywhite1936 Yes I thought about them going to court to get the ability to do that,I dont know the laws in Australia, I don't believe its typical in America though. I grew up in Massachusetts hearing stories about the man who lived in the walls. I was told a bunch of messed up stories about this state growing up, some true and some not true. I could never find anything online about this and nobody I asked had heard about it. I thought maybe it was a game of telephone so some details were wrong or it wasn't true. This video just gave me closure. Lol As a child in the early 2000's this one sounded like an urban legend meant to scare teenagers who wanted to date strangers online. That was a new concept at the time. Blood on the walls lead to a man living in the walls being found with an axe in a dress, but nobody I asked had heard of this? Sounds fake but okay. I can't believe this was true. Kind of mad that it is tbh, this story is messed up...
brenda is truly stunning, she is so strong and open about this incident, despite everything that happened in her past, it just proves how well her parents raised her, i bet they would very proud of their daughter
A author had written a book and accused Summer of killing her husband and running to Mexico with the kids. He had said it was just a matter of time when his story would be confirmed. So this of course he had to backpeddle and then pay the family of the McStay's for accusing Summer of something she didn't do. Also Chase had been embezzling from the company. He had put his name on the account and would access it to pay for his gambling debt. Eventually Joe had found out about it and was just about to report it to the police when Chase attacked him and the family. He had then stolen more money from the company and then accused their other co-worker who was in Hawaii at the time (had been for a month a think to do some work for the company). Dan the other co-worker was allowed to access the accounts to pay business expenses. There was no evidence to prove that Dan had killed the family, yet at Chase's trial that ia who they accused did the crime. Chase also had his phone with him at the time of the murders as it had pinged off the towers near the burial site.
@@mikemurphy6152 easy if you threaten someone enough but cannot be seen by others, it is easy to make people do what you want them to do without struggle. @@mikemurphy6152 well pistol whipping may still show a struggle. Having them pull out a gun, say "do as I say or the kid gets it" and most likely both parents would have complied. Imagine something you hold so dear in your life but if you show any sign of distress to the outside world (scream, struggle, fight, etc) and you know they are serious (for all we know the guy picked the kid up as a hello and held a gun to the kid when they were inside ), then you know that there is no way you would cause anything to happen cause that item/person/animal has value to you
If I was a victim of the last case I would've lost my shit, I can't even imagine the fear the family experienced during that incident, what's more scary is that he could've kill them at any time he wanted in their sleep
I WISH someone would solve the case of Suzanne Lyall. I grew up and went to school with her. She went missing in 1998. It has been 26 years. Her mother is still living, but her father has passed away. It has always been on the back of my mind. She just disappeared without a trace!
First two reminded me of a case from France. The entire family disappeared; father, mother (who was severely ill and on machines, at home) and two rather adult children, students. Even two of their dogs, with food for them still in the bowls. Their disappearance was reported late. When the police came, at first they found literally nothing. Despite the thorough search. They only noticed that all the family cars were there except the father's and there was a rifle missing from the house. Upon new search, one of the investigators noticed that the area where dogs were kept was unusually clean; not even dog traces in the dirt. When stepped there, it was clear there was something a bit elastic covering a hole. And there it was, a large board, covering a hole where all the family members were, dead and wrapped in plastic bags. Even the dogs. But not the father. And it resembled an actual burrial ground since there were some religious objects like crosses and angel figurines. Even some flowers, I think. So, the focus was turned to finding the father... He was caught by a speeding camera and they realized he was a family killer and headed to a place that meant something for his family, with that rifle (which was a murder weapon) which in 98% of the cases like this means one thing... Oh, but the chilling twist in the end! Unbelievable!

Brenda is such a remarkably strong person. I can't imagine how hard her life has been.
It was clear from the way they talked about Robert from the start it was him. It was disgusting she was placed with the killer who kept assaulting her after the crime.
I couldn’t imagine being Brenda, may have saved her life but she lost her entire family🥺 I couldn’t live knowing my siblings, parents and aunt were gruesomely murdered
And then to be put in your attackers care to be raped viciously over and over makes my heart break for her.
I wonder how Cathy felt knowing that her husband killed her entire family , and was rapeing his niece. She must feel awful knowing that she brought that monster into their life.
I'm sick of this life in prison bs. Get rid of these monsters...why should we waste time and money taking care of them.
100%!!!
@@MengusDew there definitely are “thought police”. Luckily you can avoid them entirely by never going on Twitter lmao
@@MengusDew do some research on the PCLR checklist . We can predict future behavior . attempted murder warrants longer than a year behind bars . He should have been evaluated for psychopathy and they would have found that he was unfit to be released .
I wish there were pictures of the "walls" that he had been living in...
Same
There is another documentary totally dedicated to this story that shows his "room" and pictures of how he got around in the walls. I'm almost positive it was an ID (investigation discovery) show but I can't remember what series it was from. If you search the name of the guy you should be able to find it.
They were regular house walls. He moved around in the space in-between the stud and the dry wall
Same. I was confused.
YIKES.
You have to be delusional to think that after lying about your appearance and showing joy in someone's mom's suffering before death on a first date would lead to a second date.

Okay so that last case was the creepiest thing I have ever seen... He was a real life demented villain from horror stories... Reminds me of that case of the German farm where they had the killer living in the attic.... Seriously, nothing is creepier than that stuff, what led him to be like that...
On the first story, I’m confused how police had the power to put a camera in the murderer’s house and get DNA from his house without a warrant
It happened in Australia, not the USA. Different laws there I guess
@@youllneverknowmebecausethi5286 Tell me the applicable laws are don’t bother commenting something so useless 🤣
I think I can speak for all Australians. Brenda Lin is my hero. We love you Brenda.
"I mean, if anyone is going to follow that trajectory, it's gonna be the guy who lived in someone's walls"
I’m pretty sure if they had probable cause and a judges order they could. Don’t quote me on that tho.
@@roxywhite1936 Yes I thought about them going to court to get the ability to do that,I dont know the laws in Australia, I don't believe its typical in America though. There was a famous missing child case in America where they suspected the parents wiretapped the home in the 80s or 90s and came up with convoluted evidence, that didn't prove their guilt
@ Definitely the case in the US or the case would be thrown out
With probable cause they can do that.
If it’s into a possible suspect of a murder case, then I guess I could see it being something like “no limits” “ find this killer no matter what” type of deal
But I could see this being abused too, I hope there’s someone like a lawyer dedicated to this. Deciding if it’s ok or not.
As someone with family in peppered and Townsend I WAS SHOOOOOK to hear that but have never been told about it.

B b - she isn’t talking silly so no need for her to stfu
brenda is truly stunning, she is so strong and open about this incident, despite everything that happened in her past, it just proves how well her parents raised her, i bet they would very proud of their daughter
So you seem to know a little bit about this but do you have any clue how he got them all in the car without signs of a struggle?
@@mikemurphy6152 easy if you threaten someone enough but cannot be seen by others, it is easy to make people do what you want them to do without struggle. That probably would have been shooting the child if either parent did anything. Now that is just a potential observation. If the parents keep the child as calm as possible at the same time follow orders, then it will look like no struggle occurred
@@SapphirasMama Ya you make sense. Im looking at it as if it was me and I cant do that..For me the killer pulling a gun and wants us all In the car I kinda feel like I know he is taking us somewhere else to kill us so for me trying to do something before getting in the car seems like the only logical thing to try and do. Now if the killer came in and pistol whipped me that's a totally different story.
Thank you for replying tho because your answer did make me reconsider and think about it a little more
@@mikemurphy6152 well pistol whipping may still show a struggle.

The idiots that said Daniel was not a danger and let him out after only a year should've been arrested as accomplices to the murders he committed.
If I was a victim of the last case I would've lost my shit, I can't even imagine the fear the family experienced during that incident, what's more scary is that he could've kill them at any time he wanted in their sleep
Saw these stories a few times on UA-cam already but still watched cuz I love the EWU crew!
I get compliments all the time on my deep, unique voice. But my God, dude...your voice is straight out of a 60 Minutes episode!
I've been loving your content, these videos are extremely well done. The captions are brilliant as well, my mother is hard of hearing and I showed her one of your videos without having to use the awful auto generated UA-cam captions. Keep it up my friends.👍

Yeah that cancel out the they left to go across the border theory …
It’s said the reason that Laplante seemed to get such a light sentence to everyone is not what it seems. He actually jumped bail. The reason that he was even able to post bail was because they decided to try him as an adult in the home invasion that put him in there.
The last case I saw from true crime doc from tv and it really freaked me out.
