I sleep while there’s a serial killer documentary playing in my earphones. But, I'm not violent at all. That’s because I'm old enough to not get influenced by those stories. Can’t say that about kids. I'm 23 with loving parents. Plus I have strong morals. I was raised right and I can’t be more thankful. I’m a medical student who wants to save lives. I'm sorry I have to disagree because officers don't want to canvas off a crime scene sometimes they will wheel the already deceased person into an emergency room just so they don't have to do the latter. Right!? I love that they started doing cold case units at different police departments to focus on all the cases where a killer was able to live freely amongst the public.
People are being arrested 10,20,30+ years later thanks to all the scientific advancements since back in the older days. That’s great & all, justice is being served better late than never. But it almost doesn’t feel like it’s enough.
These killers had the privilege of going on about their business living their lives AFTER robbing someone of theirs & not having to answer for it!
Some of the killers they catch are already dead by the time they find them. Parents of victims are passing away never knowing who killed their child! 😩

This is why I have dogs serial killers. I actually did interviews and majority of them said they do not go after people that have dogs in the home because they alert their owners when someone is in the house or trying to actively break in so it wakes up their owners and they have time to grab a weapon or call 911. I know for sure Richard Ramirez said that he said it didn’t even matter if it was a Chihuahua. He’s like I did not try to break in to peoples houses that have dogs. He’s like if I found out that they had a dog they were safe he even said I definitely did not break into somebody’s house if they had a big dog, especially a protection dog like a German Shepherd a pitbull a Rottweiler a Akita a Doberman pincher I think that’s why we saw an increase of people getting dogs back in the 80s and 90s and early 2000s

Exactly. A person already has to be a bad seed. Abuse can make a bad seed worse but abuse does not change your nature. It's a common misconception. It's like people need to find an excuse for people who commit horrible acts. My story is not exactly the same as yours but I've gone through devastating abuse as well and while it took my hope and health and happiness it didn't affect my decency or empathy. Victimizers don't need your empathy and concern, victims do. Victims are often despised for "allowing it to happen."

I don't find it hard to believe. Even "normal" ("normal", as in "not evil") children are quite cruel, especially if they have been abused or have mental problems. Also, their brains are not developed enough to understand the severity of what they are doing (for some it's like a game), to empathize with the victims, to control their impulses, and to be afraid of the punishments they will receive. It seems more incredible to me when an adult does this, because an adult should understand all the implications of his actions and should be able to control himself.

Not taking up for herat all, but she was beat down physically, mentally & spiritually. Do you know how damaged you have to be in life to abandon your child that you carried for 9 months with a monster?
He was doomed from the start. However, there are children that have been thru much, much worse, (not trivializing his pain & abuse) and probably thoughts of taking it out on the world (who had absolutely nothing to do with his turmoil) but never did. How does 1 even reconcile that?

In fact, he was the only one who was allowed to receive home visits from there, and he committed a few of these crimes while on these home passes. I was in this juvenile detention place with him, and it angers me knowing that if his judge hadn't allowed him those home passes, families wouldn't be suffering from his crimes. Don't get me wrong, I'm not blaming the judge for that assholes actions, I'm just merely pointing out that if he was treated like the rest of us, not being able to leave, people would still be alive and that child wouldn't had suffered what she gone thru.

Well, if serial killers continued to be violent or kill in prison, they'd be put in solitary confinement. Permanently. That means no contact with any other being but the guard who drops a tray of food in two or three times a day and leaves. For years.
Which, from accounts I've researched, is psychological torture.
Serial killers also tend to kill for certain reasons, like hatred for women. So, they may have no motivation to kill men. Or, they're weak physically and can't overcome another man in a struggle. Which will then lead to the serial killer being beaten half to death (or to death) and removed from the general pop for his own protection. Back to isolation issue. Also, other inmates would find out if the S.K. targeted other men and would be on guard.
Tonnnnssss of reasons why they would be better off suffering through any impulses instead of killing behind bars.

NON of them would hurt people without it being in self-defense. People whom cold blooded murder others while enjoying it are wired that way. People with antisocial personality disorder are more likely to end up in prison for murder and other heinous crimes. They feel the laws do not apply to them and they feel no remorse for their actions. Those are people that would be highly susceptible to violent video games, serial killer shows and violent movies. Regardless, those poor victims, unbelievable. Even those that made it through are scarred. Just disgusting.

I live in Colchester and the description of events is very accurate. Colchester is a fairly large town but is normally a very safe place to live. Drunk people getting into fights on a Saturday night is normally about as dangerous as it gets. Murder is not unheard of here but is a very rare event. The savagery of what James did was very shocking and really had people scared and on edge for a long time. I remember that for many days after each murder the police were out in huge numbers to try to reassure people that the town was safe.

I’m scared this could be my adopted 10 yr old son. He’s on the spectrum, seems super sweet, smiles like an angel but as he has gotten older we are realizing he has no remorse. He only cares about himself and steals, lies and destroys things when he’s angry. He’s stolen over 10k in phones, tablets, money etc . I tried calling the police on him, a family came to my door looking for their sons iPhone, he stole a teachers iPod while on in school suspension cleaning the lunch room (that teacher was the one watching him at the time too). Recently he stole $154 from my purse to try and buy something off Amazon but then realized you can’t use cash and ended up getting caught (long story behind that too, his adopted sister is involved too). Anyway I had him watch a video of children in Mexico who were so poor they lived in the dump and had to eat what they find in the trash, it showed their home as a shack with a dirt floor and flies all over their rotting food. He laughed, then a baby is shown trying to suckle and he laughed again. I said to him why are you laughing? He said ohh it’s funny, the babies face and flies on their food is funny. I tried too explain the baby is starving, it’s hungry, it may die of starvation and he snickers. I tell him they are starving, their only food comes from trash and he laughed. So then I said do you not understand it’s not funny, being hungry isn’t funny. He just couldn’t stop smiling. Until... I said okay I don’t think it’s funny and it’s not funny, how about you get no food tomorrow? All of a sudden his face dropped. He says what?? Yes I say, no food all day just like these little kids are hungry, so you know what it’s like and maybe won’t laugh at them. He threw the biggest fit ever. Screamed and yelled. I sent him to bed and the whole next day he was so angry, he ripped his window screen, he broke the plaster off his window sil, he somehow made a hole in the wall but with what I don’t know. And the whole time screaming he was hungry and it’s not fair he’s grounded. Little did I know he wasn’t even that hungry. His sister (also adopted) gave him oatmeal in a zip lock and put cheese meat and crackers in baggies and sent them up to his bedroom window(2nd floor) using the pool net/pole. He wasn’t even that hungry. He was angry and he still could care less about the children who were really hungry. Even when they were caught all he cares about or says is “but I was hungry” he doesn’t seem to care what anyone else feels. I’m actually pretty worried hearing about that boy stabbing his neighbor. I can almost see that already. He has killed lizards, trapped pigeons and cut off our cats whiskers...
