Honestly the press & the stupid comment made about the xbox one having to be connected to internet at all times & if you don't want that then go back to 360 was the dumbest comment an Xbox official ever made. Xbox One was great but the press for it was horrible. I still love this console & I still use mine today all this time later. It's a good console & underrated in my opinion. I love my ps5 & my xbox series X but I have good memories on my xb1
@@dyllangames3592 yeah mine works offline. I was saying the rumors about it & that comment from that former xbox head literally destroyed the sells of the console. I remember it & remember the rumors of everyone saying it spied on you with kinect having to be plugged in & it always having to be online & it takes up peoples data & so on. People bought ps4's because of that including friends of mine who loved xbox & had 360s. It was bad press that killed it & fake rumors. I feel like xbox still gets killed by fake rumors from ps fan boys & sites & gamer news articles that put out misinformation. Crazy to me xbox doesn't have better PR.
I think the reason why it was a big problem back in the day was that what if you can't get online maybe the power goes out for days or you legit can't pay your wifi bill lol.
@@H8RSAPPRECIATE yeah.& some internet companies also have data limits. Especially back then & if people used too much internet they had to pay insane amounts when going over, that's not as common now except with some cell phone companies but luckily most people started getting unlimited internet plans & no one wanted any that had data caps so people literally avoided internet companies that had them. But it was everyone then & it definitely affected it. People should be able to play games offline, especially if it's a downloaded single player game. Some people also have bad internet in some locations. It's gotten better since then but I know people who live in countryside places who have choppy internet & before starlink & so many other options for areas like that. So it definitely affected it also.
@@H8RSAPPRECIATEI feel like they just went about it the wrong way completely. And that haunts them til this day but in a way thats what ultimately ended up happening for all major consoles except maybe Nintendo. Not exactly as they explained it but similar nonetheless.
The solid state hybrid drive was not like a Fusion Drive on an iMac. The SSHD was a regular hard drive that had a small solid state cache built in, just several gigabytes. Only the most accessed files (not programs or games) would be loaded on the cache. The Fusion Drive had an actual small SSD (24+ gigabytes) combined with a regular hard drive. The fusion drive could hold more data, and be combined with much larger SSDs. The SSHD would decrease load times, and the technology is similar, but still different to a Fusion Drive.
Replace the hard drive with an SSD and it'll be a lot more snappy in the UI and also load games faster, some games benefits more than others and it ain't a huge difference in many games but in other it is, I did it to mine years ago and it's still going strong even if I don't use it much anymore
Bought an xbox one controller back in 2017, still works. Got my hands on PS5 back in 2022, controller left stick is unusable anymore [self jumps around everywhere]... Oh and i love those small controller joystick caps, i use them as well!
I played a lot of great games on my first White VCR model Xbox One including Rare Replay, Gears of War Ultimate and Quantum Break. Rare Replay is still my favorite Xbox One exclusive.
I remember getting my XB1 because of Rare Replay, along with Sunset Overdrive, Mad Max and Batman Arkham Knight. I think everything together was about $350 in 2016 and really showed us the upgrade from the 360 (still in use to this day).

It’s now 2024, and the always on world the MS employee was talking about still doesn’t exist. For example, I can still use my phone, television, computer, appliances without an internet connection. The only time you need an internet connection is if you want to use streaming services or play games against other people online, because that’s how those services work.

The garbage console. Not only was it extremely garbage in specs, you did not even own the games. And you never did after xbox one. Microsoft's consoles are basically paper weight and is worth nothing.
