I saw Rodney do 2 shows in the 80's at Westbury Music Fair. I laughed non stop, from the time he walked on stage, until he left over an hour later, at the end I couldn't remember even one joke. No time to remember one joke while he's rattling off 5 more in the next 30 seconds. He was the greatest.

Rodney is still my all time favorite comedian. I would watch him with my grandfather when he was on the Johnny Carson Show back in the 70's and 80's. My grandfather had a very quick wit and a great dead pan since of humor but he did not bust out laughing much. I love Rodney because he could make my grandfather bust out laughing and that would make me laugh even harder. Even in his later years my grandfather got dementia and did not speak much but Rodney could sill make him bust our laughing. I miss Rodney and my grandfather great laugh...

The beauty of Rodney's delivery is the flash of pain in his eyes right after the punch line
His expressions were a lot more subtle and heart-felt than you would think. he had lived all the pain and humilation and conquered it thru humor.

I'm laughing out loud in my car hearing Rodney. Remembering how Jay Leno described Rodney's final hours in a coma. Dying in a coma is very peaceful. Your brain starts shutting down. So pain is no issue for the most part. I would of wished Rodney live past 100 years of age. So he could see how much his audience really appreciated him with his jokes! Miss you very much Rodney!

Leno visited him in the hospital while rodney was in a coma. He said, Rodney, if you can hear me, squeeze my finger. Rodney respond by squeezing. Leno said Rodney, that's not my finger. Rodney smiled. RIP, the all-time greatest comedian.
