You should think of a hashtag to see how this challenge helps other people improve their confidence, consistency, and comfortability... Once I know what that is
All of your challenges are really inspiring and I like how you integrate tips from other youtubers and showcase how it's going for you. I'm gonna start my journey May 1st because I have my first tourney June, 19th!
I really enjoy your videos. I love your candor and humility. You get right to the point, quirky sense of humor and you seem quite modest. Not to mention your insightful, informative and have a relaxing calmness to you. It's refreshing in these strange times. Thanks man. It's much appreciated. 🤙
100 putts taking as little as 10 minutes is motivating. I’ve been grinding out my backhand and flick form with flight towels. I really need to work on putting though.
I think effective practice is more helpful, and more important than quick practice. Although practice in any way is good. I think there are two good types of practice. Repetition and mental tournament setting style. At least for putting. (there are many variables such as if you are aiming in a specific way and how quickly between each rep you go that can affect the quality of practice.) I use putting games (perfect putt 360 is a good one although I use a different one that is harder to explain but is simple.) For throwing, I find it good to get the actual release off of the disc. The flight towel doesn’t replicate that. Also, aiming and lining yourself up when throwing is important.
Thanks CJ! It blew my mind how little time it took. I slowed down after I got the discdot, but it was still 15 minutes max with 10 putters 🤘🏼 there’s something to be said about slowing down even more, but it depends on your goals. Since mine were comfortability, consistency, and confidence, it worked out perfectly!
@@TrashPandaDiscGolf I’ve neglected putt practice so far so I just need to get started. After I get a few sessions down I want to make it more structured. 1 session down(15min) Your video was a nice reminder to just get started. Haha thanks.
One of the things I have done is replace the S hooks on the outside of my practice basket with little carabiners. This allows me to move the chains from a normal basket configuration to the marksman style configuration. It’s a simple switch that gives me more flexibility with my basket without changing its performance in any way.
Dude. Such quality content. Just stumbled on your channel and I feel so refreshed and energized to find such great content. Thanks for the inspiration and breath of fresh air. Keep up the great work!
Congrats on the putting confidence you got from your challenge. I ordered a nice basket and that is the plan for the winter... putting and Robbie C's workout.
Excellent commitment to self improvement. Last time I putted 100 practice putts per day, for a few days straight, I saw a drastic improvement in my putting..so I'm getting excited about what 30 days straight will do.
This hits the nail on the head for improving your putting. You have to put in the reps! I think folks look for a magic technique change to elevate their putting like you can do with improving distance. Sure tweaks can help but reps are key. I know baskets aren't super cheap but anyone who is serious about improving their putt should invest in one. Once you have the basket it's easy to carve out 20-30 mins every day to throw putts. I also know not everyone has the space. Trash here has to garage putt and you can find footage of Paul Mcbeth setup in his living room getting in practice. Get a basket and putt!
I do 1 to 2 thousand putts a week. My putting has increased substantially! Repetitions and confidence makes a huge difference. Also carry the same routine to the course. Rapid putting bad good quality putting 👌
We’re the putters you were using different molds? I have quite a few putter lying around and I’m curious if I should invest in a certain mold. I’m thinking P2s. Nice video 👍
Thank you! I mentioned this in another comment: it's pretty subjective. Mine were different because I don't mind using different putters. Some people are adamant about the opposite! Really your choice! (And P2s are great!)
Something I do is play around the world. Like in basketball. I place drivers spaced and distanced every one farther then the next. Fun to play with buddies too. Great vid
Think I'll start this mid Feb so I'm ready to rock 2021! Just a comment on your videography skills, they're awesome! Love the angles, transitions, music, all of it! What kind of camera do you use? Where do you get your tunes? Editing software?
Just found your channel and I’ll be subscribing haha. Seems like you got yourself together in this UA-cam game. Love the idea of recyclable discs. Might need to grab one when they come available
I wish I had the time/lights to make this happen as my putting is non-recyclable trash right now... Something a pro suggested that I really like (I can't remember who, maybe Calvin), is to treat each practice putt as if it were a real putt and to setup each time you throw and not just throw one after another. I've found this to be helpful for me as it stops me from being able to adjust to my bad form/line and forces me to slow down. Can't wait to see you do something like this with your recycled discs.
Great job! My putting definitely needs some improvement. I need to acquire a few more putters to make it practical. Looks like you have a few different putters (or maybe just different colors). Are those your model, or did you have a favorite model stand out from the others?
Thanks! It's possible with only one putter, but each one after that makes it a little more convenient.. lol Most are Aviars with a few randoms thrown in (none are my model)!
I think you played better at the second tournament because the company was better 😉 your putt is looking great! I'm liking that hyzer you've got going from 25'/30' 💪
Immediately got my lazy butt off the couch and went downstairs to start Day 1. Only got a 97 so excited to see how much I progress. I did 1 hour of quality putting during the summer one year almost each day for June and July and now I am better but might need to try and work on how my putt style goes, I got sloppy this year not really playing/practicing much what with helping my parents move and all to new house plus staying safe as disc golf players were being stupid this year.
@@chrissmith4307 fair, might start doing that daily tho, would def be great to try. Could prolly knock it out in an hour a day or less, provided it's just circle 1
I did this for 6 months and improved dramatically but I was putting so much and throwing so many forehand into a net that I damaged my shoulder. I'm in my 40s though.
Are u using the same putter or different ones, I would use all different putters. I used to try to throw at least 20 putts a day and I was a great putter. I never practiced the other aspects of the game so even though i was 990 rated at one point but not practicing drives and upshots I was all over the place. Oh and I used to putt in the basement during winter which helped keep in tune. Good luck on your putting and just keep at it and it will eventually come easier.
