Let’s Go Jesse, Ocean Discs Sea Turtle global release date is being announced tomorrow. Appreciate you all at Trash Panda 🐼 EDIT: Release Date: Friday 20th September 2024 @ 14.00 BST.
i already throw almost 100% recycled , but PLEASE please please homie... Jesse... when can we buy the trash panda bags yo... come on man drop some in the store and let us support you even more! Dope vid BTW!
Kinda really want to see you use a box of each from Discraft vs Prodigy Grind ‘em To make a few discs of your own. A Head to head battle between “used to be…”(has been?) discs.
Hey just wanted to say thanks and keep up the great work! Just got a set of seconds in a week ago and I FU*Kn love throwing the Ozone!! The inner-core also went straight into the bag!
I started my eco-friendly disc bag with Trash Panda. I couldn't find Innova’s Echo Star so I went with MVP R2s. Then got some Discraft Recycled line. I hope I can get my hands on those Reblends soon 🤞
The game Disc Golf Valley has a colorful cell-dyed (Sapphire) disc with a Panda on it called 'Celery' I call it the Sap Trash Panda. (On a Celery diet)
Maybe to get around stamping every disc with the plastic type, every manufacturer could have a chart they keep on their website for recycling. Seems simple enough
I got a clash planty guava off of eBay in a box of 8 discs. I didn’t realize just how rare it was. I thought there was a limited release at one point. I’m really curious who I bought it off of. I love clash plastic so I’m stoked!
I know Innova did some R-Pro discs with wood in them. I assume they're old and very expensive so I haven't tried to find one yet. I played disc golf a few times way back in the day, 2009/2010 and I remember trying to find Teebirds in every plastic they made. I remember having one in Echo plastic and it had a sticker on it that looked so cool I refused to take it off. I lost it not too long after I got it. Apparently looking back on it, it might have been a first run echo Teebird. Oh well.
I love your experiments. I left 2 MVP Proton Atoms (2016 runs) Outdoors for 1 year....surprisingly. The plastic was more tacky, but they were still more overstable than the 2024 version. I was hoping for them to be close to the 3,3,0,1...nope. It changed the feeling, but not the stability. (Never thrown for 1 year, just enjoying the weather of Chattanooga Tennessee)
Interested to see how fast the bernoulli discs biodigrades. If you loose a "normal" disc it is still usable if it has been outside for a while. But if a disc looses it's structural integrity it can not be used and have to be replaced faster than nonbiodegradable. Would be intresting to have a base nd premium plastic comparison to the bernoulli discs.
I like how Jesse is always surprised at his own skill at throwing discs. Personally, I'm skeptical of Bernoulli's claims, not only of the composition of their discs, but of their biodegradability. I guess we'll see. Thanks for the video.
If its anything like "biodegradable" PLA plastics for 3d printing.. it will be there for a few hundred years at least (if not thousands - as you say they need high temp and all kinds of stuff to degrade). And you'll see no real change in the year, maybe some miscoloring from weathering/soil. Nice video, and very cool to see someone care! :D
@trashpandadiscgolf, I already use an entirely sustainable bag. Heres what I bag... Putters: Gateway Organic Voodoos TP Premium Inner Core R2 MVP Envy Gateway Organic Devilhawk Mids: TP Premium Dune Lat 64 Biogold Fuse AGL Magnolia DD Biofuzion Justice Fairways: MVP R2 Crave TP Premium Ozone Lat 64 Biogold River AGL Sycamore Lat 64 Biogold Explorer AGL Locust Distance Drivers Discraft Recycled ESP Scorch Discraft Recycled ESP Thrasher I have also had Destroyers and Wraiths (Echo Star) and MVP's insansity and inertia's (R2) in my bag as well
A bokken (木剣, bok(u), "wood", and ken, "sword") (or a bokutō 木刀) is a Japanese wooden sword used for training in kenjutsu. If you laminate wood it’s almost indestructible
So, in other words, if you bag sustainable discs, they will avoid trees and let you park the hole? I'm in. No, really, I think it is admirable that you are spearheading recycled plastic in disc manufacture. I'm sure most blow, injection and vacuum molders are doing the same, regardless of what they are making, but it's nice to see you tooting the horn.
Remember the most ecological bag you can possibly build are used discs from places like play it again sports or ebay. New manufacturing, eco friendly or not, will never compare to using something that has already been created. I'm not accusing Jesse of not being aware of this, i'm sure he is and has likely said it before in his videos - I haven't watched all of them. I love Trash Panda's mission, keep up the good work.
The industry doesn’t want frisbees to last, they want you buying new plastic but there’s way better options then molded plastic. Ever think you could press a disc like a snowboard?
My only gripe with manufacturer 100% regrind defects disc is that the all the energy/fuel, and labor used in shipping and manufacturing is wasted on discs never thrown or used so net zero usage compared to trash panda which use recycled discs that have been used in some varying degrees so there is some usage of that labor and energy/fuel before being re-ground. I appreciate companies wanting to participate in sustainable products but this is more green washing marketing than actual sustainability processing.
Seriously!? You’re probably wearing a thong from china right now, typing on a device made in another country from a company based here in USA. Stop crapping people/companies trying to do something right with the abilities they are given.
Alexandra Marguerite Clémentine Cousteau is a speaker and an environmental activist. She says we’re 1% plastic You eat a credit card every week Plastic is disgusting
Okay, so maybe someone can help me understand....So Prodigy buys a bunch of virgin resins, molds a bunch of discs, grinds up the defects and remolds them into other new discs, and then gets to call them "100% recycled"? That seems deceptive. I mean, it's absolutely better than just throwing the defects in the landfill, but it definitely doesn't seem to be fair to call something you make from new resins purchased a week ago recycled just because you screwed it up the first time. And it DEFINITELY doesn't seem fair to call that sustainable consumerism, because that disc is still manufactured from new resins that never even made it out of the initial manufacturing facility, meaning that it is still introducing 175 grams or whatever of new plastic to the planet. I'm not saying these aren't good things for the manufacturers to be doing, but it ultimately just feels like another marketing gimmick to say that they are "recycled" or "sustainable", just like how people pat themselves on the back for spending $90K on a new Tesla full of plastics and mined materials instead of just buying a used Corolla or actually using the car they already own for its entire lifecycle. Same with this, if you are concerned about these sorts of things, it's a lot more sustainable to just build your bag with used discs. Buying new will always encourage the production of more new, which is fine by me, I'm very pro-business, but don't pretend its "responsible" or "sustainable".
Hate to be a party pooper but just using ones own process waste does not make the product sustainable. Had about 50% of my bag Echostar and other recycled plastics few years ago but now bagging just normal stuff. Wouldn't mind looking at the subject again at some point.
Dude the fact that its made from scraps from their production doesnt make it sustainable? Like yeah maybe its a little better but it still new plastic all and all. Come on.
I hate disc golf. 30 dollars for a frisbee is a joke. I can get a plastic bucket from harbor freight for a dollar. What’s the difference? In the plastic not the flight.

Its the jmilly hat that makes the world of recycling go round
Jessie I just want to say thank you for all my success in disc golf
I use everyone of your discs
Love the video. Your knowledge, your personality, and your passion are unmatched in this industry. So thank you.

Check out Aerobees! They sent me 5 of their mid called the Orsus which is made out of a rapeseed oil bio-plastic!
"I keep hitting the basket for the durability test."
Great breakdown Jessie, kudos for saying good things about competitors when they do good things
"This isn't a -3/1 hole, but anything is a firebird with enough hyzer."
That gave me a pretty good laugh.
Hole 5 at Prickly needs some keyholes. Can't see anything without a decent walk up.
@@justingill4422 I wouldn't know. I haven't played there. It was just a really good one liner
Dude! Ocean plastic discs! Someone did it.
Kinda really want to see you use a box of each from Discraft vs Prodigy
Grind ‘em To make a few discs of your own.
A Head to head battle between “used to be…”(has been?) discs.
Nice throws!
Can’t wait for the follow up!
I bag a few discs that I found on the course, does that count as recycling?
Hey just wanted to say thanks and keep up the great work! Just got a set of seconds in a week ago and I FU*Kn love throwing the Ozone!! The inner-core also went straight into the bag!
I am ready to grab a whole bag of the Clash Planty if it ever becomes available
Thx for another great vid!
I am making the commitment to personally only throw recycled. This is great to see!

Also, patiently awaiting the TP overstable putt and approach
I love that course

Got two recycled discs. Out of 7.
One trash panda inner core and one discraft avanger ss
Both are great
Jesse out there still putting the "rad" in ColoRADo.
I love your experiments.

Alfa discs have a starter set made out of 20% Norwegian wood, you should check them out!

You should petition PDGA to make plastic tags required on discs to be PDGA approved if that would make them easier to be recycled

Plant seeds above or under the underground biodegradable disc!
What the heck is this course? It looks sick
Prickly Pines it’s a sick course.
Totally off topic, but what shoes are you wearing in the video?

What is the course name?
It looks like Prickly Pines DG Course in Elizabeth, CO
The industry doesn’t want frisbees to last, they want you buying new plastic but there’s way better options then molded plastic.
Ever think you could press a disc like a snowboard?
I randomly cannot find the Bernoulli disc manufacturers Instagram...
What about ALFA DISCS Discs made out of wood? They feel like plastic, but smells like wood
I was just thinking the same thing! They’re pretty great too

So you have a problem with trying to reuse something that never got used in the first place?
Fam this is why you let engineers do engineering, this is a whole bunch of nothing to complain about
Close but no cigar
Seriously!? You’re probably wearing a thong from china right now, typing on a device made in another country from a company based here in USA. Stop crapping people/companies trying to do something right with the abilities they are given.
Rocket city trash panda.
