It is not impossible to seek and build a strong bond with God staying out of the noise of church setup. Infact it's the other way round we might be able to open up more than one way of spirituality to which we all have been tied up as per our church denominations. There is scope for innovation even in spirituality provided our intentions are pure.

In fact, if you are thinking that you are doing something spiritual by turning away from the problem that is in church or staying away from the believing community, then that's disobedience to Christ Himself and it is quite a selfish thing to do, not a spiritual thing. It is very shameful to Marthoma Church to elevate someone who has several complaints while serving in his priesthood/high priest to a Safragan position.
Who knows these allegations are stories created to defame the bishop. The worker who filed case might have been, or priests whose sons were, found to be victims, it is suspected some sort of enemity towards the bishop might be the reason behind the allegations. even otherwise, church in whole cannot be blamed for a mistake of an individual. think before speak.

That is a lie. I'm an ex Marthomite and there are explicit differences between the Marthoma Church and the Orthodox Churches. The Marthoma thaksa still adheres to the protestant reformation efforts of malpan.

Do you know almost all the eliminated heresies by Abraham Malpan have been restored by Yuhaanon Marthoma? These are the major restored heresies. 1. Prayer to the saints and praying for the dead have been restored with an option of "Either-Or" stand (means one can exercise his free will whether he wants to do it or not). The "thaksa" has been revised accordingly. 2.The doctrine of transubstantiation in the Eucharist has been restored by Yuhaanon. 3. The reformist's teaching was that the Holy Communion is a remembrance of the great sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, but Yuhaanon restored the orthodox teaching that it is the real sacrifice of Jesus over and again. 4.Reformists taught that the Word of God (i.e Bible containing 66 books) is enough for faith and practice whereas Yuhaanon revised it as "Bible is not sufficient but traditions outside of it are also important" 5. Yuhaanon's famous quote about reformation is that "The Reformation had taken a devious course" In almost all the practices and traditions except Mary's worship, both the Orthodox and Mathomites agree together. 1. Syriac in the thaksa 2. Mandatory celibacy and prohibition of marriage for Bishopric. 3. The attire of Bishops. 4. Enthronement as well as funeral procedures of Bishops. 5. Curtain or veil separating laymen. 6. The rituals and concept of Maamodeesa. 7. Use of incense in worship. 8. The rituals in the marriage ceremony etc; etc. If you have any doubt, please go through the history of the formation and growth of Marthoma Sabha. Abraham Malpan's intention was admirable but Yuhaanon undermined it. That is history.

I know a number of Marthomites who observe the death anniversary of their dear ones and conduct prayers at their homes in remembrance of them. It is true that confession to the priest is not there. But so many heretical doctrines that were abandoned by the reformists have been restored by Yuhaanon Marthoma, which led to the schism in the church. Know for sure that, in a large number of doctrines, faith, tradition, and practice, both Orthodox and Mrthomites agree together. Don't they?

It is not impossible to seek and build a strong bond with God staying out of the noise of church setup. Infact it's the other way round we might be able to open up more than one way of spirituality to which we all have been tied up as per our church denominations. That is a lie. I'm an ex Marthomite and there are explicit differences between the Marthoma Church and the Orthodox Churches. The Marthoma thaksa still adheres to the protestant reformation efforts of malpan.

Do you know almost all the eliminated heresies by Abraham Malpan have been restored by Yuhaanon Marthoma? These are the major restored heresies.
1. Prayer to the saints and praying for the dead have been restored with an option of "Either-Or" stand (means one can exercise his free will whether he wants to do it or not). The "thaksa" has been revised accordingly.
2.The doctrine of transubstantiation in the Eucharist has been restored by Yuhaanon.
3. The reformist's teaching was that the Holy Communion is a remembrance of the great sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, but Yuhaanon restored the orthodox teaching that it is the real sacrifice of Jesus over and again.
4.Reformists taught that the Word of God (i.e Bible containing 66 books) is enough for faith and practice whereas Yuhaanon revised it as "Bible is not sufficient but traditions outside of it are also important"
5. Yuhaanon's famous quote about reformation is that "The Reformation had taken a devious course"
In almost all the practices and traditions except Mary's worship, both the Orthodox and Mathomites agree together.
1. Syriac in the thaksa 2. Mandatory celibacy and prohibition of marriage for Bishopric. 3. The attire of Bishops. 4. Enthronement as well as funeral procedures of Bishops. 5. Curtain or veil separating laymen. 6. The rituals and concept of Maamodeesa. 7. Use of incense in worship. 8. The rituals in the marriage ceremony etc; etc.
If you have any doubt, please go through the history of the formation and growth of Marthoma Sabha. Abraham Malpan's intention was admirable but Yuhaanon undermined it. That is history.

I know a number of Marthomites who observe the death anniversary of their dear ones and conduct prayers at their homes in remembrance of them.
It is true that confession to the priest is not there. But so many heretical doctrines that were abandoned by the reformists have been restored by Yuhaanon Marthoma, which led to the schism in the church. Know for sure that, in a large number of doctrines, faith, tradition, and practice, both Orthodox and Mrthomites agree together. Don't they?
