      +Pandatômico he right their all very easy technique to pick up. well all but sweeping. hammer on and pll off and natural harmonic are amust the very frist thing you should learn as a guitarist. Tapping really look harder then it is. and sweep picking just start slow and speed up and you get better at it. trimbilo picking (i misspeal that bad) tlit your pick a bit and pick up and down. start slow if you have to. Their i just kinda enplane them all very easy simple stuff. have fun

      I think he's trying to emphasize that focusing on fundamentals can oftentimes yield cooler sounding pieces of music than trying to focus on the show-off-y BS. I mean, the other ones are cool, but I can do without them. Especially pinch harmonics and pick-slides. That being said, I like string slides if they're being used to do a bass drop.

    • @johnyevo6575

      firemaiden34 you could say that about all of these things, where do you draw the line?

    • @Dubbag
      @Dubbag 7 років тому +21

      I draw the line between techniques that all musicians use that are necessary in order to play. and ones that only pertain to creating a specific sound. for instance A classical guitarist isn't going to use a pick slide, but they're going to use hammer ons and pull offs. A pop punk band isn't going to use the heavily distorted harmonics scrape, but they're going to use hammer ons and pull offs. See what im saying? There's a different between tricks, and universal techniques.

    I really like Pinch Harmonies, they sound really cool compared to Natural Harmonies.
    I also really like Tremelo Picking and Hammeron. I'm not a guitarist I'm just stating my favourites in terms of sound

      +JLOGHJK No they are pretty 'beginery' techniques.

    • @JohannesWiberg
      @JohannesWiberg 8 років тому +1

      +Toby Morris The techniques are intermediate, I'd say, not beginner. The level he's playing them at is above intermediate. It's true that there are a lot of people out there who are at a pretty basic level generally but can still pull off this techniques at a high level, but that doesn't mean they're easy, that only means those guitarists have had strange priorities. You're not gonna pick up those techniques at anywhere near that level with 100hrs of practice, not if you really are a beginner.

    • @garcemac
      @garcemac 8 років тому

      +Johannes Wiberg These "techniques" are basically useless tricks. Fine and fun if you play for yourself in the basement - not so useful if you want to pursue a career.
