This is the Digitech TRIO, a groundbreaking pedal that can listen to your guitar playing, and then automatically generate musically appropriate drum and bass parts, providing you with an instant backing band for songwriting, rehearsals, or even solo gigs. The TRIO can learn up to three different parts for each song you teach it, with seven different musical genres and twelve selectable styles available for each genre. Instantly accessible half-time or double-time versions of your song are available via the Alt Time button, while a dedicated Tempo knob lets you vary the tempo continuously with no detriment to audio quality. The TRIO has auto-sensing outputs for plugging it into a guitar amp or mixer, onboard speaker emulation and guitar effects, and a headphone jack for silent rocking. Individual bass and drum level controls let you get the ideal rhythm section mix, and a control input lets you use an optional Digitech FS3X Footswitch for hands-free control of your virtual backup band. The Digitech TRIO is housed in a compact, rugged enclosure that can be easily integrated into any pedalboard, and it includes a dedicated 9v power supply.

The more I see of Andy the more I like him. He almost always plays songs that I love to demo the gear. It gives me a good idea of how the product will work for the type of music I play or would like to play.

Thank you for this device. I can see that this would assist in teaching and training guitarists how to be more creative, but most of all what chords, etc. work best for the tunes they play. I am going to share this information as more players can feel comfortable experimenting with their own creative process. Good for you !

This is Nice. Great for practicing, jamming & creating song ideas. It's better then practicing exclusively with a metronome. That is Why "I Love my Boss DR-880" ( and would never be without one ). You can make it sound like 3 or 4 people, and you Play for Hours ! Digitech hit a Home-Run with this. Great Job Andy ( as always ). - Michael Caz - NYC -

This little unit sounds great and does it's job, to accompany a guitarist with drums and bass, in a variety of styles & tempos. I'm thinking of buying one, mainly for practice and good for trying out original stuff with musos who turn up and don't get pissed. Sounds good to me. Just watched the demo on Rob Chapman and what a hash they made of that. Trio drums & bass on 9 o'clock, you could hardly hear it, Chapman shredding over the top of it, drowning it out. This demo explained everything and it sounded good, like all the other demos I've seen apart from Chappers.

I imagine the Trio uses the similar technology to what tuners use to read which note you're striking. It reads multiple notes and then mimics the notes with a bass sound and mimics the pattern to make a drum beat. I can't wait to get one of these. Not only will it help me make better sounding home demos, it will also help me with practicing lead and finishing songs that have collected dust.
An example of correct application of digital audio tech. As long as it's clear that what you're building/selling is a toy--a TOY, not a musical instrument--then you're doing something that's useful and that I'd buy. Nice job! And I want one.

Great Neil Young Intro. Now what I was looking for is that even though the guitar was on "distortion or over drive the bass and drums were clean and that is what I was hoping for and I now just bought one. It still in the mail.

I just got one; there's some learning curve there, to play straight enough for it to read the progression. The power supply is flimsy, and not enough plug friction to hold it in place. I wish it would remember more than one song at a time.

Thanks, great video, great playing. I use the session mode on RockSmith to do a similar thing. I think RockSmith is more comprehensive, but when the price comes down from $179 or £189 .... I live in UK, gotta love rip off Britain. I will definitely buy one ☺

Lovely bit of Neil Young and the pixies. Clearly a cool guy. Really surprised me though when it was revealed that the slick voiceover was actually his voice! Crazy he actually talks like the voiceover guy. It may in fact actually be him!

Bought the trio + and after several attempts at it the bass line had a mind of its own. Even on simple 3 chords songs it was not like you see in the vids. I even played the chords in the demo and the bass line was nothing like this at all. Maybe I had a duff pedal! Could not lay down a loop because it was impossible to follow the bass.

I am thinking about buying this. I going to try it out but a consumer on his review said the rhythm gets mixed up and can't go for a 3 minute song. He said it's almost perfect if Digitech just would have done it right.
Actually , it's like Band In A Box, but options "theme" and "solo" are missing , and to keep the songs in memory too !!! When this will be avalable I'll by me a Trio !!!
