Cristal clear explanation! Thank you very much!
best explanations so far any where on UA-cam.
Thanks so much for a great demonstration - both informative and excellent "teaching" explanation. I buy these types of pedals or effects and land up not using them because they are too difficult to work out. Your review has just made my Digitech Trio usable (finally)!!!
Really great review! Thanks! Killer unit.
Have sort of noodled with my Trio for a couple of years, a friend had a verb & delay he wasn’t using and gave me, then I realized the TRIO is a pedal...bought an expression pedal, then a pedalboard...here I am for some instruction. Enjoyed the video, saved it. Will come back for lots more. Miki
Tom's playing never disappoints.
It's really nice and good, and the brilliant dials are fantastic, which is amazing. So, the lovely colour and inputs are really handy, which is a bonus and really feels nice at this price point. The clever addition of a unique and lovely sound really feels lovely. Moving on, the back of the loveliness is especially wonderful and intrinsic to the unique variety of functions at this price point of additional and unique fantasticness. QVC interview completed!!
This pedal also doesnt snore, need it's own room, complain, or eat or drink. Will pay for itself in weeks👍✌
It would have been nice if you did a review on the new DigiTech + pedal to! By the way, thank you for this review : )
Lovely playing. Do you have to start and stop the song to input different chord progressions or can you do it on the fly?
Newbie question: If I wish to use an additional foot pedal must I use the DigiTech FS3X Three-Function Foot Switch, or are there generic three-function foot switches that can be used? Thank you!
Thanks for the FSX3 recommendation.
It changes everything!
Any suggestions for a Rockabilly drum and bass settings?
hello, seem that we get the bass and drum sound from the magic box. but we lose our chord progression. do we need a looper to keep that sound together ?
why the machine does not record our chord progression ?
Very good explained
I have to wonder if you really do fast fingerpicking or fingerpick chords in a systematic way, if the trio + picks it up for the drummer n base?
#Guitar Interactive What do you think will be the best setting ("genre") for adding base and drums to '60s-era folk-rock compositions? Thanks!
VERY NICE PLAYING -
Are the effects on your guitar coming from the Trio?
Hello. Awesome work
Can I play the whole thing through one amplifier? Guitar & pedal?
are yu locked into that chord progression, with the bass ?
Very nice video! Hi I am having trouble with my FS3X about all it does is change the Style up or down. It doesn’t initiate the looper nor the Genre features. I can’t get it to mute the Bass or Drums either! Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Are you using a trs stereo cable?
Can it do metal blues rock etc?
What if you want to use delay and reverb and things like that wouldn't it warp the sound of the drums and the bass parts?
Depends on the configuration and signal chain placement.
Hear it @ 6:15
how do you turn it off??
Please will someone tell me if this can do a hardcore metal breakdown with major double kick action.
no
How come the sound that comes from the pedal is so good while on other youtube demos it sounds like a Casio early 80s toy keyboard?
Because some are recorded through camcorders and phones. The better ones are recorded direct to sound card with simple audio software. I use the M-Audio 2496 Audiophile sound card with Samplitude 2015. Awesome sound for low budgets.
And because on some of the other demos (the Sweetwater demo for instance) everything is output through a guitar amplifier.
Cau you use it whit acoustic electric guitar too or just whit electric guitar??
you need an acoustic guitar mic that attaches in the hole...check out ebay..amazon...
Maybe a silly question. Lets say you train it and play E G A B bar
cords going up the neck Now when you have it trained and play E G A B
again does one have to have perfect timing for the bass to follow.
Other words you are say strumming late on the A chord and you should be
now on the B chord , does the bass and drums wait for you to get to the
B chord, or do they now play over the B cord while you are still on the
A
Erwin Erwin it doesn’t wait for you. Once you click the button to end the ‘recording’ part, it just plays, it won’t ‘listen’ until you wipe that part and record new instructions.
too much unnecessary tremolo..good mechanics....AND EXCELLENT demo..best video on this pedal many thanx !!
i cant reset it anybody know how
Mark Willoughby i had the same problem bro, but if you update the pedal going to work again. You need to conect the pedal to the pc and go to digitech web page and download the software and install in your computer, after that you can update the pedal and work awesome..
my FS3x fall and the 3 switches broke, they are made of filmsy plastic
Take care of your gear man
It's a bit lo-fi. Is that why Colin Baker and the Boobs have used it to record an entire punk album?
If I can't say anything nice......
Trio is Junk. I had one. Not perfected.
This thing just doesnt sound right to me in this and other video product review demos Ive watched. There r several better ways to practice than having to compromise with a half deaf pedal.
Its not really a practice pedal. Its more of a composing tool. As a writer, I find it very useful to flesh-out different rhythms for my songs I'm putting together. The drum and bass samples aren't the best I've heard. And I haven't always found what I've "needed" for a particular piece. But also, I've been pleasantly surprised w/ some of the things the TRIO has kicked out! And its great for demoing new tunes to your band! Especially if they have trouble following, or understanding a song you've written. If you are not a writer, and just want to practice I wouldn't suggest this device. You'd be better off w/ backing tracks. Or just a straight drum machine you can program, w/ better drum samples like the "Beat Buddy".
+rone dee I'm going to have to disagree on this one. Not that it can't be a great composition tool, but it has to be the single best purchase I have made for practicing. It adds a lot of fun to a otherwise boring session, because you actually are making music. While you could say the same for backing tracks, lets face it. You can';t change things. What if you want a different key, or tempo? What if you decide you want to substitute or change a chord? Easily done. I get unlimited backing tracks. The OP might not like how some of the bass and drum lines are created, but I have found it really isn't that big an issue.
Also, changing a genre or style helps me practice my rhythm skills for listening and adapting my strum and style to the new rhythm section. I don't play with other people often, but I feel that I could easily find a grove quickly in a "live" situation because of this feature.
Anyway, to the OP, you either see a need for it or you don't- I personally tried Band in A box software years ago to do these kinds of things, and this is much better than either backing tracks or BiaB, because the ability to play a progression into the pedal to play back is so much easier. I think Digitech is on to something, and I suspect this technology will become very popular.

.. I hear ya! A few musician friends of mine that I bragged to about the TRIO, but who don't write borrowed mine. They wanted to see if it was something they would like. One came back a little bewildered. He was trying to emulate popular songs that he knows, and was frustrated he could not achieve the exact beat and bass lines. Neither were motivated to buy one after trying it. So, take that info anyway you'd like. I'm a writer and I am thoroughly satisfied. I can't wait for the feature laden update to this device!
why not play a real song, so we can compare, instead of a bunch of noodling
Really very poorly spoken! Where's the FIRE!? Slow down, and speak clearly. Not everybody is an expert muso who can pick out the details your 'mumbling' about.
