Digitech Trio+ Band Creator - Building a Song to Noodle over!

- I am trying to illustrate how you can work with the DIGITECH Trio+ Band Creator.... I am building four parts and then I put them in a song sequence... the setup is rather simple: Drums and Bass go directly into my audio interface through the Trio+'s MIXER out.
The guitar is going directly into the H&K Deluxe 20. In the FX loop of that amp is first the Strymon BRIGADIER Analog Delay and then the Trio+. So all the guitars are going into the Power amp and then in the 1x12 Cab, mic-ed with a Sennheiser e609.
So, pretty much just a two channel amp, a delay and the Trio+ !!!

I'll be ordering mine soon. I use my normal Trio quite a bit and I think this will fill in the gapes that it's missing. And finally a looper I don't have to hit perfectly! That's really the killer part that should not be understated. Because it knows where your loop starts and ends from the drum and bass part your guitar overdubs are so much easier than a classic looper. Thanks as always for the good work!

Lately...it's been impossibly to get together with friends to jam...so I pulled out my old Trio Pedal (1st Gen) and completely forgot how to use all the extra functions with the FSX3 switcheroosky thingy and figuring out again how to use it with my TC Ditto Mini Looper...then I see you...YOU again...demoing why I should just sell my old one and get the Trio + instead...argh Henning! You've done it again...given me G.A.S. ...during the lockdown! 😂😜🙃

Great practical example of possibilities of the Trio+...but i guss that the difficult part is in connecting right tempo and drumbeat from one song section to the other ... Thank you !! I have the trio+ since 2 weeks ago and I need to improve my knowledge on real capabilities of this pedal !!
There's an extra feature that's not shown in the video. Namely, you can initiate a clicker when recording a new song part, which will click with the same tempo you had previously recorded with. But... this is a year-old comment, so... >_>
This is a really nice creative tool, now that they've added the looping side to it. Also, really love the fact that you don't have to necessarily count yourself in when you start a guitar loop... With this you could really easily put together a song without having to get crazy with a drum loop in your DAW and make a full functioning demo to bring to rehearsal and refine with your mates, or even an acoustic solo show could get a lot more interesting...

I am seeing as many Trio plus videos as I can to understand the functions etc... I have mine coming in a few days!!! Rather excited myself. At 56 I really don't want to have to go to a practice hall and practice/play with others as I live on the outskirts by a forest. I KNOW this little pedal will not replace real people in the group but it is the next best thing for sure!!! It will be great fun, and a theraphy to be able to play accompanied by other sources. When you play for years alone, you always imagine in your head the other parts... lol Take care, and thanks!!!

Brilliant demo. I’ve just got one of these pedals. Life changing!! Nice melody and construction there by the way. Did you know that when you are building up the parts, you can match the new part’s tempo to the previous one - it gives you a count in of a bar.

The trio would generate guitar chords based around the bass line that is being played.
It wouldn't be able to work out the harmony based on single bass notes,or even when to change chords.

It actually sounds a bit better than my original trio,,,, I think. BIAB is pretty amazing. Hopefully do the road it will be using the real instruments from BIAB which are pretty amazing too.

As far as i understood this one has an EFX-Loop, right?
This means i can go with this signal chain.
Guitar -> Trio -> (send) -> Overdrive -> Delay -> Reverb -> (return) -> Looper -> Amp (clean) / Headphone.
So, i could play until the Trio got the chord progression, loop a clean track (maybe with reverb), loop another layer (maybe overdriven) and play a solo over all with delay and can even store the looped material for later work on the DAW?
Yes that's right. I've had one for just over a week and it is so much fun to play around with. It sounds infinitely better through my tube amp than it does through headphones, however.

Honestly, I wasn't digging it at 1st. I had just ordered the SDRUM pedal and came across this pedal afterward. But once you got past all the layering of parts and got to the lead, I was impressed. For me the other parts I can do on my looper. The bass lines this TRIO does wasn't for me. I'd rather add my own bass too. But for someone who rather not do the bass it's good enough. The drums are always the bitch for recording enthusiasts who aren't a drummer or don't have the setup for it, or the room. Drum machines are fine for a click track or if your just doing a demo. This machine and the SDRUMs are much better than drum machines, unless you can program your own drums and really know how. Great demo .

I got this unit, but, too bad I can't learn too make a little stops between parts, and make a drums intro and finish the song... or it can't be done with this pedal...
I'm trying to get this Trio+, but have heard that the quality of bass and drum sound it's not that great. do you agree? or it's a hater thing?

+Brian Donnelly Actually, if you get very creative with the looping you can create really awesome soundscapes and some cool groves, and then add the band side of it to thicken up the whole thing to support you, I think... plus you have song banks ;)
It can save up to 12 songs with 5 parts each on the card that comes with it. And you can always buy more cards.

Hmmm, interesting box. But it is mono right? So if I use gain, isn't it going to muddy up?
Also, can you select what key it plays in?
+Endezeichen Grimm from what i understand it automatically gets it's key from the chords you put into it at first.
+RJW14 The key is defined when you play the chords.... it is mono, which is kinda sad... at least the drums in stereo would have given it some space... but it works fine the way it is... even with high gain rhythms.
It is designed to be ran through a mono guitar cab in the first place, not a fullrange speaker system.
Even though it is possible to do it, you will probably want to use something else for recording drums and bass for a song.
Good idea and its almost there but not quite there. If they can improve the drums to sound as good as the beat buddy and include the footswitch we may have a winner but for now its a weiner.

cant solo over my rhythm track .( Drums and bass are thru my p/a ) I record my guitar track using the trio looper and on playback the guitar only comes thru my cab so when i go to write a lead the cab is all jumbled up sounds terrible! Unfortunately a deal break for me. Digitech sure missed the mark ! The sole purpose of this pedal is to practice and write.... very disappointed!

Habe mir auch das Trio Plus zugelegt, nur wenn ich es nach Anleitung mit Mischpult anschließe, spielt komplett alles über meinen AMP verzerrt ab. Habe gelesen, das man es so anschließen kann, das man Schlagzeug und Bass dann über das Mischbult steuern kann und die Gitarre wird über den AMP verzerrt. Weißt du da was?

das Ding hat einen Mix out (Bass und Drums) der in den Mixer geht und der Amp out geht in den Amp... und sobald beide belegt sind sollte der Trio automatisch die singale splitten

This is a good video but this doesn't help with "Songs". Do you store the song after you have done all this or do you have to press the "song" button and choose a storage place before you start composing?
I think you pick the "song" before you start and then it is saved automatically to that preset

*sigh* Still no dedicated Funk preset. The drum samples still sound dreadful, shittier even than those in my 20+ year old RY10. I want to like this so badly. The Trio's fundamental design & engine are fricken ingenious, why the hell can't digitech get the bread & butter stuff around the space age AI tech parts right...
The r&b style can get funky. It's great for pop, r&b , hip hop, and smooth jazz. Synth driven loop based music. pretty much top 40. I gig with it. I love it.
