Very good work! The M750 is one of my favorite motorcycles because of how balanced it is. I have restored a Suzuki Bandit 400 from the year 1993 and, now that I have finished it, I need to find another project and I am evaluating the possibility of looking for a Monster 750 or 900. I loved your work. Congratulations.
@BedsideGnome I usually use Gunk for a general outside clean up when a bike is very greasy/oily in places, toothbrushes or similar to agitate it then hose off. Once fairly clean and back inside working on individual bits I either use WD40 if it just needs a good wipe or paraffin in a container with toothbrush if its quite messy still. Finish off unpainted plastics silicone spray. Rusty items get the wirewheel treatment and resprayed as necessary
@MrSniuolis Thanks. re the ride height bolt kit. Think it was louigimoto com who I read about on a forum selling them. There's nothing listed on their site so called and explained what I was after than they were still doing them. Cost was around £25 iirc so paid by card over the phone and the kit arrived in a few days.
I didn't really keep track but this is a list I put on a forum thread about the rebuild: Brake & Clutch Lines £87, Manual £18, K&N Air and Oil Filter £54,Grips £8, Exhausts £180 (used) X-Ring chain and Renthals £115, Oil 15w-50 Motul 5100 £25, Timing Belt £30 #73710021A or newer type is part #7371005A, Tyres £160-200, Levers £35 Chinese ebay) then a few other bits and bobs
i guess im randomly asking but does anyone know of a way to get back into an Instagram account?? I somehow forgot the login password. I love any tricks you can offer me!
@Connor Korbin i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
@maximilianrodliff you probably can but I wouldn't bother as some bolts you don't want to replace for safety reasons such as brake calliper bolts where oem is safest mainly as stainless steel has different properties to whatever the oem bolts are and you wouldn't want to risk s/s snapping or not torquing up properly. Its easiest to go on ebay and search for m5, m6 cap head bolts (engine mainly) and buy a variety pack with different lengths. You might also want some with button heads
you'd make that bike a lot better by ditching the marzocchi forks and putting some showas off a later monster on or adjustable showas off an ST2 or ST4...replaced the marzocchis on a GT1000 recently and it transformed the bike totally
@TheMotocycleRestorer Thank you. This one is now sold and just like the others sad to see it go but if I didn't let one go, I couldn't get something else to tinker with :=D
@maximilianrodliff - Could be the springs but there's also some Teflon (or similar) coated sliders in forks which are the main thing thats there to reduce stiction and could be that coating is worn which if they gets too worn will result in metal to metal on your chrome legs which then gets pricey. Your fork oil could also be old which would result in poor damping. In short, you'll benefit from a complete fork service to bring them back to close to new. Cost? no idea, maybe £100-150
Just because they had Ducati written on them does make them good, they were pants, looked pants and so I got rid of them. I agree the cans aren't top notch but they came cheap and made the right noise and have to add Monsters are built to a budget. Thanks for the comment though. btw the bike is now sold and moved onto something else for a second bike as at the end of the day I found the monster a bit gutless and lacking somewhat
hi i have an m750 dark and when i brake to a stop and sart again i feel the forks stick a little on the way back up after setting of. do you think i need new springs or is a lube change needed its a 2000 ? cheers
hey mate- I need to replace one of my coils/ignition cables, i was just looking for a basic one, do you know what specifics I need to stick to - 99 Monster 750. THANKS MATE!!!
Carbs with Electronic Ignition to answer your query, you'd be hard pressed to find a bike made int eh last 40 years that doesn't have electronic ignition, carbs, perhaps 20 years+
hello, great work, i have one question, where did you find the ride height adjuster? i have the same height problem on my monster 600. i need to know! thanks
louigimoto.com someone tipped me off to call this guy/place and he was doing them. Think they were £20 or so but bear in mind this was 6 years ago so he might not still be doing them.
Thanks fo rkinbd words. Re the adjusters bear in mind that was 4 years ago but I heard through the gravevine that louigimoto.com/ sold them, i called and sure enough he furnished me with a set...about £20 or so. Cant gaurantee he still does them but worth a try
You shouldn't trash levers that had Ducati written on them for ebay chinese ones! You don't do that my friend... The cans are pretty rubbish too, like cheap copies or something. The rest is very nice though, I shall admit!
Very good work!

Ducati Monster 750 Rebuild/Renovation
Nice job
Hey MoiX1970, good work guv!! Where did you get the rear ride height adjusters?
So fucking clean 😍
Just the one front disc on this model. I think the next year or year after that Ducati swtiched to two discs.
Beautiful bike, I just bought.
Super nice good work! Just got a '99 750 when did they lose the tach?
okay kool thanks also where did you get the bolt kit from ? can you get complete bike kits ??? cheers maxi
bello sissimo
Awesome work! Where did you get the levers from and what brand?
Hey, Nice job!! Could i ask where did u get the hight extenders for it? i tried ebay nothing in it...
Great vid but the most irritating music on the planet
Is the engine oil and transmission oiled together
Isn't the bike missing the front right brake?? Or did this model year only have one front disc?

Is this the carburetor model or the electronic ignition?
those are two different things, carbs/injectors provide fuel & electronic ignition which replaced points, provides the sparks
Carbs with Electronic Ignition to answer your query, you'd be hard pressed to find a bike made int eh last 40 years that doesn't have electronic ignition, carbs, perhaps 20 years+

Good work man, i just bought a m750 yesterday and am currently in the process of cleaning it up. How did you get rid of all the muck on the radiator?
NIce job!!!how much did you spend for this rebuild?
@thermite5000 Theyre just the basic chinese copies of some better make off ebay for about £40
cool! One more question! Does the m750 has dry clutch? If not can I change it to dry one?
no and no

MoiX1970 @ 5:38, did you insert spaces to achieve more ride height?
Just needs a tail chop.
