The thing about the Kraken having no superstars is very true, but if you really pay attention to the stats from the regular season you'll see that we have DEPTH. Every. Single. Line. They all do great! The biggest letdown was Gruby during regular season and he just turned it on for the playoffs so can't be too mad there.

its interesting what moves chicago may do. they went from sellers to probably somewhat of a buyer. they got alot of cap space and probably want to invest that money in some competent players. Probably alot of decent players available for cheap due to a slightly bigger cap hit than their worth, but they'll be low cost additions due to that. Like it feels you could get Garland and/or Boeser from the canucks for basically free.

As a hawks fan, these past few years of at best fringe wild card teams made me forget how much the rest of the league hates us. The lottery results quickly reminded me.

As a Sharks fan, I would trade literally every other team accomplishment for a cup win, and honestly, the regular season success only makes the lack of championships more painful.

The Wings didn't get hosed THIS year by the draft lottery but holy shit, it's tilting that Chicago swoops in and gets Bedard after the Wings have disastrous seasons over the past handful of years and never move up a single time in the lottery, only falling or staying still. Rewarded for covering up sexual assaults while bad teams who aren't doing atrocious shit suffering is insane to me. Any team but them deserved Bedard.

Quit the star talent nonsense, they have a strong balanced team and Grubauer has played incredibly well. Like Corwin said nobody was high on the roster of the golden knights either because they didn't have star power outside of Fleury. Seattle just hits you wave after wave making them tough to match up with. The addition of Oliver Bjorkstrand, Justin Schultz getting a spark back, Gourde being healthy from the start of the year, Mccann and Sprong producing offense, and Dunn starting to come into his own. They just have a lot to try and maintain and their bottom 6 becomes a mismatch vs Colorado and Dallas.

Ik it’s 2nd round teams but the rangers should arguably be the team that needs to change the most. Gallant wasn’t even the problem they rushed a rebuild and developed their top prospects badly. Now with Mika, Kreider, Kane, panarin, and tarasenko all coming to a close on their prime years. All in on one year for nothing

I’m a Blackhawks fan. Am I excited for Bedard? Hell yes. Does the team deserve this pick? Absolutely not.
That being said, I saw something on Twitter that I feel resonates with me (perhaps it’s a bias) but two things come out of this. Bringing up the absolute horrible things that the old regime did, doesn’t help heal. I don’t think the victims want to hear about it much anymore. Perhaps that’s a wrong take, but the other thing for me is that the hawks need to start a new chapter to start moving away from what happened and this is a start

I will say in defense of Chicago not currently being a scummy franchise is no one in magement/coaching/players from 2010 is there anymore. Rocky Wirtz still owns the team yes but his son (who wasn’t involved with the team in 2010) runs things and has Rocky away from most things to do with the team. Current management has made the correct decision to distance itself from coaching and management for 2010. While yes far less egregious stuff has been done with harsher punishments, the NHL made the decision to not take picks and that comes down to Gary Bettman and his people. I would say it’s unfair to be angry at the current Hawks management (with the exception of Rocky Wirtz, I’m a hawks fan and think he should’ve sold the team or been forced too after Beech came forward) for getting the first pick through a random lottery

How u only judging if a game is exciting if it’s high scoring hockey is a defensive game? Also how r the devils being defended rn? U said they did amazing in the first round and when they play the same way and get dominated they’re playing badly? They just suck. The only reason nj is in the second round is cause the rangers quit after game two. The devils are playing a Stanley cup caliber team now and they don’t stand a chance cause they suck plain and simple
