Love this form and frequency of pod. As a gen z I dont like the more traditional hockey commentary thats on TV/UA-cam as much but I never miss an episode of the bardown pod. Great humor/personality/atmosphere with great insight as well. Keep it up 👍

Dawg really just said the Oilers defense “isn’t that bad” then proceeds to state the fact that they have the most defensive zone giveaways in the league. Like cmon, Skinner and Campbell aren’t amazing but it’s the swiss cheese defense and lack of scoring outside of McDavid and Draisital that’s causing all their issues. The team has absolutely no depth, their entire bottom 6 has combined for 0 points the entire season so far. Depth has always been the issue with that team and it has been for probably over half a decade now….

100% it's been a few years of delusion and as much as I wish they had accepted their date before GMMG arrived I'm glad it happened. They should have really tried to be this bad last season and go for bedard I don't know why they didn't. But w/e I'm glad Karlsson played so well and can go cup chase, but all those ot losses were frustrating by years end. I just hope to get another really good player through all of this. Go devils lol
Exactly, after their 2019 run to the conference finals there has been a fast drop in their level of play season to season. In the start of the 2019-2020 season, after losing Pavelski to free agency, they had the worst October then the best November league wide, but any chance of putting together a full season felt like it was lost with successive injuries to Hertl and Couture. Since that point it has seemed relatively apparent that they needed to fully rebuild and they took too long to start that. It would have been great to have done so at least 1 season earlier and have this bad of a season last year given the strength of the draft class. But it's been at least 3 years of wishing they would just go for the full rebuild already.
Corwin should be in net for the next beer league game for a vid as his punishment.

I think Corwin's punishment for the Oettinger slander is pretty simple. He needs to do another NHL franchise mode series with Oettinger in net no matter the cost.

The truth is we've been this bad for a long time ever since Pavs was let go. The season is finally bringing reality to this team without any Karlsson magic.

DBoss and Cat are going to be so fun to watch this season. I think they will still miss the playoffs but when they do win this season, they are going to win big and be really fun to watch.
As a San Jose Sharks fan, I think Corwin should have to watch a few Sharks games. For us, it's a form of torture at the moment so he might hate it just as much as we do. Love the videos guys! Thanks for keeping us all entertained!

The sharks do have some young exciting players from this last draft. Will Smith, Kasper Halttunen, Quentin Musty, and Luca Cagnoni are all looking promising so far. Also Macklin Celebrini played for the Jr Sharks + his dad works for the Warriors, so he's comin home

Corwin needs to play beer league goalie... in someone else's used gear. The more recently used and likely to be damp in areas the better.
As punishment, Corwin should have to do a stream(similar to the JBJ stream) of him playing as Jake Oettinger, whether it be a full season, or even play until he records a shutout, etc.

Sharks fan here, looking at the matchups we've had for our first bunch of games it's no surprise we're winless, plus Couture is injured not helping our case, Blackwood looking great so far, Eklund, Bordeleau, Thrun and Zadina all bright spots right now, we better get Celebrini after missing out on Bedard.

I think corwins punishment should be playing like a 80s or 90s goalie in a actual beer league game
the issue with "Phase of play" for Hockey offsides is that no matter how long it goes on, unless it goes out of the zone, you're always offside at that point. if the call was made 30 seconds prior there would have been a faceoff outside of the zone and it could change the outcome of the game in that respect. you go from a goal that occured after a 30 second span of offense that would have probably not happened had there been a faceoff for that offside.

Actually a big fan of this video lot of great and entertaining points are made, I do think the Rangers leading the division should have been mentioned but still loved it. I think Corwin's penalty should be him dressing up in goalie gear and each of the boys gets to take clappers from the top of the circle.

it is kinda ironic how closely you can compare the Los Angeles Angels to the Edmonton Oilers, two star players who are in the prime of their careers struggling to carry bad specialists, goalies and pitchers, and would easily be better used in any situation but are so beloved by their organizations that it is so difficult for them to leave. The day that Mcdavid gets out of Edmonton might be one of the greatest days in hockey. To finally be able to see the full extent of his potential with a better supporting cast will not only grow his career but will grow the game as well.
Jesse saying he feels Tampa needs Vasi back ASAP.....idk, i think the fact Johansson just got back to back shutouts they're not in as that big of a hurry as in we need Vasi ASAP or we're done situation. Plus Tampa is above 500 as of now so yeah they're not too bad.

Hey guys, about goalies, a good goalie has a good defence that does not allow high procentage shots… look at the goalies Tortorella has produced with good defensive structure, shot blocking and sticks and body at the right side, that hasnt been as good in other teams.
Thinking Hart wwill have a great season if they can keep this up all the way… maybe atleast u til february, alot of young guys, maybe they arent trained and up for a full season.
Like the Ref Legend Mike Leggio once said “you can’t do that” Corwin should be dressed as a goalie for a day in a jake oettinger jersey then going to play goalie for the bardown team on that same day. For the amount of goals let’s in must be the number of consecutive days he has to continue to wear the oettinger jersey

Mcdavid in Edmonton is the same situation as Giannis in Milwaukee. Theyre happy to stay as long as the front office can put a contending roster around them which Edmonton hasnt been able to do consistently.

The thing with Kupari is he’s ALWAYS looked good. He looked incredible with the Kings. Problem is, he never has anything to show for it. All the speed, strength and hockey sense you can ask for, zero offensive production.
Also was only on the 4th line in LA. So not much opportunity to play. Averaged so little ice time. Glad he’s getting more chances in Winnipeg.
