Thanks for that! I almost cut that part out!😅 I like to make sure that I have a lot of time on these trips so I have lots of play in my day to day travel and go as I feel. That also is one of the perks of traveling solo. Whatever I feel like doing is what happens in the end. And when I’m indecisive, I just take the time.

Amazing trip, looking forward to following along. At my tripping camp back in the day they would charge 6k each camper to go down the Bloodvein! I'm sure there were moments where you wish someone was there to share it with but the feeling of accomplishment after a long solo is unmatched.
To be honest with you, I love being out there by myself! It is hard to compare a long solo trip to the same trip with others. I feel way more in tune with the land around me when I’m alone! I see more I feel more, it is like all my senses increase and it is amazing! Thanks for watching!
I've been from OLIVE to LUND, so have done a portion of your trip in the past. tough portages. I have also gone up the Bloodvein from Artery to Marys to Barclay and then South down to Donald. Enjoy your vdeos. Thinking of doing this trip myself. The Pictos are very moving to witness in person. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Paul! The park tends to work its magic on people, thats for sure! You could also bypass the heavy portaging and fly in to Peishk Lake and start there! The history along this river is as spectacular as the scenery!
Nice! Planning for next year either Albany River or Bloodvein river! Just got back from Wabakimi Allanwater up to Kenoji, Berg and picked up at Little Caribou Lake with my son. By the way the maps looked awesome! I do that kind of stuff more towards gps stuff but that is a lot of work. Always need paper maps as well with Wabakimi this year we had Bruce’s maps from the outfitter.
It is a incredible area! I intend to do the Albany and the Berens as well and maybe every river up there in the ‘Little North’! I also have to get back to Wabakimi and finish what I started last year! Too many places and not enough time! Thanks for watching!

I will NEVER call them “Walleye.” The name “Pickerel” is part of our Canadian heritage. Even when I was young, the MNR called them “Yellow Pickerel” in all the regulation publications. Go to buy fish at a market - they NEVER call them “Walleye.” We NEVER heard the name “Walleye” until the TV fishing shows from the USA started to do this in the late 1970s/early 1980’s. I doubt you care, but the term ‘pickerel’ wasn’t found or heard anywhere before 1857 where as Walleye has been used since 1818. I really don’t care what you call it but when I was first introduced to them by Canadian friends, they called them ‘Walleye’ so that is what I call them now. All the same fish, different names. All I know for sure is that they taste amazing after a long day paddling and portaging👌 🎣
Some long portages for that heavy canoe. How long is that canoe? All the hard work looks like it was definitely worth the struggle. Beautiful scenery. Another great video.

It was quite the slogg getting to the headwaters of the river but knowing that only the first 2 or 3 days would be physically intense like that made it ok. I would be able to ‘rest’ after that. You should be able to change the quality of the video on your phone and save data! All the way from 144p whoch is about 2 pixels side by side😅, up to 2160p whoch is full 4K. There should be 8 options🙂 it definitely is a beautiful place! And the fishing is usually amazing! thanks for watching!

Thanks soo much! that's a big compliment! As for the maps, I didn't get them from one source only and I had to do a lot of searching to find all the pieces I needed. I probably got them from 4 or 5 different sources and it was a bit of a hassle. Then once I found all my large topo maps digitally I did a lot of cutting and pasting and editing to create my own bite sized maps. Maybe some day if I get to it I will make a separate video on how I made these.
Thanks Jeff, they are ‘Zamberland Tofane NW’ Great boots but I will tell you right now, I would normally NEVER spend that on boots. The only reason I have these fancy boots is because I basically ran out of budget and I was going to use my old boots one more time and my parents insisted I go to MEC and get new good footwear at their cost! (Yes they are amazing people!!) This in combination with a really good deal on these only once worn ‘used’ boots someone had returned an hour before I got there. They are incredibly solid and strong boots, I have a wide foot which can make it hard to find a good comfortable shoe but these are great!!
