Great video, and as someone who's been visiting that very area for over 30yrs I know how much you have to respect the weather up there having gotten caught out in a small boat on Loch Maree once when in the space of 30 mins the loch turned from calm to nightmare rough as the strong winds turned to race down the length of the loch. 5hrs sat on the far side bank waiting for a lull.

Beautiful scenery. Would love to paddle in remote Scotland but am too old now. In younger days I experienced wilderness canoe tripping in Ontario and Quebec. To Jamie’s many viewers that have enjoyed this, I recommend Justin Barbour’s canoe trek across Labrador, 83 days 1700 kilometres, alone with his dog.

Thank you for introducing me to this fantastic landscape. I grew up in Minnesota and have spent many hours paddling in places like the BWCA and northern Canada and have an appreciates for these wild places.
It's an incredible landscape, but certainly nowhere near as wild as the places you mentioned. Hopefully, I'll be able to visit those places soon! All the best to you Bob.
Yeah, visited that area a lot. There are taking some less travelled routes, but wouldn't call it any more or less of a 'wilderness' than much of the North West coast. lovely area anyway and very nicely shot video.
Odd, of all the comments you could have made, you chose to make that comment. UA-cam is great, because it allows people who have got nothing to contribute to... well, contribute. Good for you getting involved in the conversation.
by saying "the last wilderness", jamie was talking about the imprint of modern man - the bleekness of the highlands, and the rest of the country is a result of deforestation, which took place across the centuries and millenia. not scotland's sparse population in the north. still beautiful though our country is, there's a sadness here too, as we stripped a lot of it bare a long time ago, killing our native trees and nearly every ecosystem with them. the untouched little islands in the video show us a delicate untouched balance of nature - it's not seen in many places anymore. tiny scotland has been incredibly enginuitive and inventive, masters of engineering and industrialisation, at one time building the biggest ships and bridges the world had ever known. we can be proud of that, but unfortunately the permanent scars are left across our wildernesses.
While I love and miss my native land of Scotland, I am over powered by my current travels. I am currently on my first trip into Northern British Columbia where the vistas are Breathtaking and stunning. No amount of photography or videos can do justice to what we are seeing here.
I've lived in the highlands of Scotland my entire life and every day I am still shocked as to how beautiful my country is.

Beautiful cinematography and locations. Thanks for sharing 💕
This why I love living in Scotland. I live in the city and within an hour I can be in total freedom near no one
And freezing your ass off at any time of year. (Snark from South Florida.) Love going to Scotland, but only in summer when the days are sooooo long.
@@hrh4961 Fair....Scotland is wonderful in Summer.....in Winter Florida or Arizona is a good destination. Life of a snow-bird.....
@arfer minute I love the English Fens and they are like a billiard table. Its just a different kind of beauty.

Man this was fantastic I’m from the Isle of Skye and some of the shots u took of Scotland are fantastic 👌🏻 feels like I’m watching a proper documentary
From Isle Of Skye? You still living there??
Well done guys, I live in Scotland in a place called Balloch, right on the banks of Loch lomond. So I know how quickly the weather can change , anyway I look forward to seeing more of your adventurers in the future. Your sincerely Robert Scott. Ps isn't Scotland beautiful.
Mate, Balloch is 6 hours south of where this video is shot, and like 30 minutes away from Glasgow... not exactly a comparison is what I'm saying.
Mate I'm Scotish it's the weather
2:04 - Ah yes, the midges - Scotland's secret weapon!
They don't fuck about and neither do we 🤣
@@Yermaw11 glad to hear it
The SMP.
Having a chilled out Sunday and came across this, loved it,scotland is my next trip.xxx❤
Fionn Loch and Loch Fada bring back fond memories of long treks , wild camping and fishing back in the 1970's when I was a lot younger. Thanks for your excellent film showing that little has changed in this beautiful corner of Scotland. Long may that continue.
The Last Wilderness of Scotland? That must have come as something of a surprise to the people who live there.
Yeah, visited that area a lot. There are taking some less travelled routes, but wouldn't call it any more or less of a 'wilderness' than much of the North West coast. lovely area anyway and very nicely shot video.
Yeah pretty much the whole of scotland is the last wilderness 😂 had a deer down at Aberdeen Harbour last week!
You are in heaven there! Love Ottawa! Been all over my country!
Hey guys. Very enjoyable video could watch it again. Thanks from the North of Ireland 🍀👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
very well filmed, what a joy to be able to navigate in this magnificent region thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
