There's a deleted scene where Jocasta's cool reception is a little better explained. No one told her Jamie and Claire had a child. She just shows up, and Jocasta doesn't really like Claire, so how can she be sure that Claire's secret pregnant daughter is really Jamie's? She warms up a bit when Murtagh assures her Brianna is a Fraser in the deleted scene.
I breathe a sigh of relief once everything is out in the open, even if it does cause familial fighting. Dramatic irony storylines drive me insane. That being said, I love the line Bree says, "You do not get to be more angry than me."
Poor Lizzie, she gets so much flack, but I applaud her for advocating for Brianna. We would all be lucky to have a friend like Lizzie on our side under those circumstances.
Good reaction, as usual. I have to agree with you on the "nobody's talking to each other" plot device. Plotting by misunderstanding is my least favorite device ever and I hated that part of the book. I usually skip over most of it in rereads. As to Jamie's methods for getting through to Bree...she's as stubborn as he is. Everyone could talk forever and she wouldn't have listened. Given 18th c. sensibilities I think Jamie did the best he could. It was shocking, meant to be shocking, because that would be the only thing she'd listen to. Not that he didn't deserve to get slapped later. That felt justified to me.
Now here is the thing that I have wondered on here, in 1769, the Mohawk where allied to the British during the Anglo-French wars in North America. Plus when the French had to surrender Canada and the French backing tribes rose up in 1763 in last chance to 'Keep the Europeans out of going further West' in Pontiac's war. The Mohawk declined to join them and stayed loyal again. However if Europeans saw them dragging a person of British descent and a Scotsman through the forest it would kick off. Google seemed to agree with that. Its dramatic licence John, true but I hate silly dramatic licence. Of course if they were dragging persons of African descent no one would bat an eyelid.
I think that beginning scene with Bre and Jamie is definitely one of the more controversial ones. I don't agree with his methods either but I can't think of any much better that a man from his time might try so it mightve been the best course. I'm not sure if keeping silent would've done much for Bre either.. definitely a double edged sword
In case you were wondering North American filming location is in the Trossachs National Park in Scotland and not in the USA or Canada that you might be expecting,
The whisky is available in various states, but is not yet available in Canada, when it is I would like to try it. He also has a tequila "El Tequileño 'The Sassenach Select' Double Wood Reposado".
I know everyone has their own opinion but in the argument in the house between Bri, Jamie, Claire and Ian everyone was in the wrong. No one told anyone the full scope of the situation, so everyone only has bits and pieces. I don’t think Bri had the right to hit anyone in her angry because if the roles were reversed and a man did that it would not be well received and her telling Jamie he doesn’t get to be angrier than her is another thing that bothered me since you can’t diminish how someone feels in any situation.
specially since HE was the one who let Bonnet scape. so anything that happens to anyone at Bonnet hand's, is literally his fault. so that he threw only a chair and didnt hit his head against a wall is pretty calm XDD
I have a bottle of The Sassenach! It's quite good. It's very citrus forward, which is a bit unusual in whisky. It's no Edradour 10 year, but I like it fine...
Re: Through hiking. Nope! Nope to that! All right, if you put a prize at the end so it's a quest. But it's got to be a really good. Like a sword that makes me King Of Comic-Con. Or Wolfgang Puck prepares a Kobe Beef burger. I ain't hiking for nothing. That's mental illness.

These are always the highlight of my week. I wish they were longer. Time just flies by immediately. :P

Well, Jamie, (in the book) your wife killed a wolf with her bare hands at Wentworth after BJR tossed her out of a trapped door, but… I get your point.

It was a case of showing her....not telling her.
@@cjprince1 and I get that. It doesn't make it okay or right to do a assault victim. Use some common sense.
10:49 Three locations. Scotland. Jamaica and the one close to The Ridge.

@@666johnco True but I was referring to in world of the show.

The writers have said that, “you do not get to be more angry than me,” is the line they’re most proud of. It wasn’t in the book.
Loved that - I heard the interview when recording my Outlander BTS reactions. So cool that they fought to keep it in the final cut!

Nice!!
Hmmmm, sometimes you're right, sometimes you're wrong. A couple of great episodes ahead. can't wait.
