People mistake Oren initially not fighting The Bride herself with cowardice. Her best friend/right-hand woman got her whole arm sliced off right in front of her, and she barely flinched (at most a slight gasp of shock, but was right back to being stone as her bestie bleed out on the floor). It's about Oren's position of power. She is THE Boss of ALL Yakuza Bosses in Tokyo. She's already put in her time and work of proving herself. That's why she's on top. The Queen doesn't go into battle unless absolutely necessary. That's what the subordinates are for. To handle the work you no longer feel the need to do. Otherwise, what's the point of having them and being in the position of exclusive comfortability if you have to keep doing the fighting yourself lol... The Bride didn't just go after Oren because she was the easiest to find. She knew Oren would not only be the hardest to get to, but also although a short battle all thing considering, probably the hardest to beat 1v1 (The Bride almost got taken out with one critical hit by Oren, who knew exactly where to hit), and needed the element of surprise and BOLDNESS to catch Oren off guard to get through all of it (and probably the one she had the least beef with on the list along with Vernita). Everyone AFTER Oren knew The Bride was awake and coming for them, which is what she wanted. She knew she couldn't allow Oren to get that luxury because, as we saw in her backstory that since she was a child, Oren was built different. She didn't become one of the top female assassins in the world at just age 19 for nothing (she also needed Sophie to get the tea on the other assassins)...
I do wish though that Tarantino would’ve explained in the movie how and why Vernita Green was not warned. I know that in one draft of the script, she Had been informed by Bill about Beatrix coming. I get why instead Tarantino chose the element of surprise in the movie. It really made the scene and set the tone for the movie. I just wish they could explain it in there so it didn’t look like Bill just left Vernita out in the cold to get murdered. And the reason would definitely have to make sense and be reasonable and plausible. Another reason Beatrix took out Oren and her gang was to set the tone for those she was coming for. It let them know that she is still badder than ever, and was even more dangerous now that (she thought) her daughter had died because of them.
@@petercofrancesco9812 I was explaining the "in-verse" reasoning. Not the Hollywood script reasoning. Two different things. I was remarking on their comment about Oren being a coward for sending her gang to fight The Bride first instead of stepping up from jump to fight her...
@@dancingwheels8494 I always figured Vernita WAS warned and knew she was going to come at some point, but she couldn't really do anything about it. Unlike the others, she had actual ties to others that she genuinely couldn't just cut lose, especially to just save herself. She had a husband and a child, so it wasn't like she could just disappear. Or just disrupt her family's life with her doctor husband, pack up her family, and go elsewhere. Now that I think about it, Bill DID warn her. When The Bride said that she wasn't going to murder her in front of her daughter, Vernita responded, "That's being more rational than Bill lead me to believe you were capable of." It leads me to believe that Bill did come to her, told her what happened to Oren, and delivered the message that she sent via Sophie for them to know that she coming like hell on wheels. The Bride told Vernita, "It's mercy, compassion, & forgiveness I lack. Not rationality." Bill had probably put it in Vernita's head that The Bride wasn't all there in the head in regards her vengeance mission, that all she would be doing is "seeing red" (which makes the signature red tint over her flashback visions make so much sense as l'm typing this lol). The Bride wasn't irrational about how she was willing to bestow that vengeance, such as not murdering her whilewhen really The Bride just wanted to have her proper vengeance, which Vernita knew was fair. Also, The Bride probably had more "respect" for Oren & Vernita than the rest, which was also probably why she wanted to knock them off her list first. Or at least had the least beef with them since although she wanted vengeance, she knows they were just doing their job...
The theory about why Hattori Hanzo was quick to help the Bride just with the mention of Bill was because Bill was not only his student but he was in a sense the Darth Vader to his Obi Wan. It's theorized he used a sword that Hattori Hanzo made for him as a symbol for a hero of honor as with all his other swords, only for it's use to be corrupted into absolute villainy (i.e. becoming a killer for hire and recruiting other killers to follow him) against humanity thus muddying Hattori Hanzo's reputation by association which is what may have led to Hattori Hanzo retiring the awesome legend he's known for regretting his decision to teach Bill. Now with the Bride showing up to reveal her motive and purpose this is his way of rewriting the wrong he unintentionally caused in teaching Bill his secrets.
The whistling song from "Kill Bill" is called "Twisted Nerve." It was originally composed by Bernard Herrmann for the 1968 British psychological horror film of the same name, "Twisted Nerve," directed by Roy Boulting. The song is known for its distinctive and eerie whistling melody.

I remember seeing this movie so vividly. It was advertised on bus stops and so after I saw it I couldn’t wait for part two, particularly with the daily commute reminder at the bus stop. Watching you two react brings back memories. This movie was so iconic it permeated cinema and influenced every 2000s reality television show.
Additionally, the anime part of the movie is a respectful nod to Eastern media. There are scenes right out of anime in this movie such as having to fight a roomful of people just to get to the main boss and enemies getting sliced to death and not falling over until the protagonist allows them to fall over.
How I fell in love with Budd for the first time as a child, when I heard at the end "that woman deserves her revenge, and we.. deserve to die." I just 🙂😳🫦🥵💔
It's too bad they cut off what he actually says though. When he's like "and we... deserve to die. But then again, so does she. So we'll just see... won't we?" Not saying she legitimately deserved to die, but definitely at the very least deserved the "worst lover/wife in the world" award. Can you imagine being in love with someone enough that you want to spend the rest of your life with them, then they die? Then you find out a few months later that she's alive, some other dude is boning her, AND they're having a baby and getting married together? I would probably want to legitimately kill myself. We all get why she did what she did, but holy fuck what a brutal and bitch-ass way to go about it! Without his connections trying to track down her murderers, he would have thought she was dead, obviously not have any clue about having a child out in the world, and be completely devastated and heartbroken. And of course in volume 2 you see that he even went to talk to her and she STILL acted like a total bitch, and would have never told him about the baby if he wasn't about to put a bullet in her head. Like, what the fuck did you THINK would happen Beatrix? That he'd just be happy for you and have a million unanswered questions about what the fuck happened? She put her own daughter in danger by being such a stupid asshole and hiding the truth from the leader of a goddamn assassin squad! It definitely annoys me that you don't find out how stupid and insensitive the person you've been rooting for the whole time until the very end of part 2. You don't have unprotected sex with the head of an assassination squad only to take their child away from them. God damn, the more I think about this the more I'm on Bill's side. If only he hadn't resorted to actual violence as well as killed innocent people he would've absolutely been the protagonist/hero of the story since how can you NOT hate such a cruel bitch? Just had to write about that to realize my true feelings on the whole issue. Bill's reaction is nothing like mine would be, because I always tend to fault myself before others if mistakes are made, particularly when it comes to relationships. So like I said, I'd probably tried to talk it out with her, and when she wasn't having it I'd just get extremely depressed like "wtf did I do wrong?!" and lose all hope of ever having a happy life. I'm also not the leader of an assassination squad though (exactly what the leader of an assassination squad would say, I know).
It was meant to be one single movie, but got too big to theaters, so it is split in "volumes" (not "1" and "2" franchise) because QT refused to cut stuff from it.
growing up with tarantino movies our faves were usually in order of release but once kill bill and django dropped they became instant classics of all time.
They're separated to two volumes because as a whole it's a very long movie and the producers wanted Tarantino to make it two parts. But they are filmed as one movie originally. For that reason Volume 2 is released only a year later.
O-Ren tells The Bride she won't last 5 minutes in a fight with her. From the beginning of the music queue (O-Ren taking off her shoes), their fight lasts about 4 and a half minutes.
Volume 1 and 2 has always been my favorite movie(s) of all time. New subscriber based on your excellent choice! looking forward to your Volume 2 reaction.
the excessive blood spilling originates from 70s/80s samurai movies. check out for example Ichi-Oto/Lone Wolf And Cub series. or Shogun Assassin, which is a slick US edition of the aforementioned. (it's an awesome movie with fantastic synth music.)

Pay close attention to the fight with the crazy 88. I haven't heard Tarantino say it but the light saber fight between Vader and Luke in Return of the Jedi where Lucas filmed through the stairs in the foreground looks to me to be the inspiration of the scene at 30:10. Lucas has said the light saber fights were inspired by old Japanese Samuri movies.
The spraying blood is a nod to the 1962 Akira Kurosawa samurai movie “Sanjuro” starring Toshiro Mifune. In the final face-to-face fast draw duel, the loser was supposed to just have a splash of blood. But there was a technical malfunction, and instead of a splash, they got a high-pressure fountain of blood. That scene got left in the movie because Kurosawa recognized a good thing when he saw it. And after that, you basically couldn’t have a late 20th C samurai movie without epic fountains of blood, and anime picked up on it as well./ Tarantino was paying much respect to his inspirations with this pair of movies.
Back when MySpace was popular, I had that song as my home page song that played when people came to my page. I was told by several people that i needed to get a different song. Nope. I played trumpet throughout middle school, high school, and a very little bit in college.
Zoe Bell was the stunt women, she also played a real role in Auentin's Once Upon a Time in America and Death Proof and stunt women for other Tarantino movies.
@ Tarantino literally conceived, wrote filmed them as one movie…. Then split them. I am fully aware they are different movies released separately. I’m referring to Tarantino’s method of creating the film. He’s been quoted as such, stating that he sees it as one movie which they edited down in post production to create two volumes.
Tarantino is an excellent reporter. Most of his scenes have references to obscure old school Asian cinema. Sonny Chiba (Hatori Hanzo) for example is from the Street Fighter movies which is actually referenced in Tarantino's first script which went to Tony Scott called True Romance (essential). Uma's stunt double is Aussie Zoe Bell whom appears in Death Proof and The Hateful Eight.
The whistling girl was Darryl Hannah. She used to date the son of President John F. Kennedy. But the Kennedy family rejected her because she was just a lowly actress and not good enough for the Kennedy family. So John John dropped her. It probably saved her life.
I’ve thought this was the case for years. The character design is so similar, down to the rings. Having darker hair would fit the timeline too. The only thing that stops me from accepting this theory is: wouldn’t O-Ren recognize Bill? Even if it could be said that O-Ren wasn’t able to see him clearly from under the bed, she likely would have learned of / seen Matsumoto’s guards in order to be able to get to him. Unless Bill was just hired for that one job specifically with Matsumoto. But then, on the other hand, if she does recognize Bill, could she have planned her own revenge for his part he played in her parent’s death? Perhaps she did recognize him, perhaps played with the thought of revenge. And maybe after becoming Queen of the Tokyo underground, she was like “well I killed Matsumoto, I’m literally top 5 of the hot girl assassins leaderboards, I guess I’m pretty good on revenge for now actually.” Either way, I do think it would be cool if that was indeed Bill.
The actor who played Bill is David Carradine in real life when he was found dead in Bangkok police suggested the death might have been from accidental suffocation due to auto-erotic asphyxiation, since there was no suicide note and he was found with a rope tied to both his neck and his genitals.
The movie was original designed with both Vol 1 and Vo. 2 together called "Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair". The studios didn't want to put a 4.5/5 hour movie in a theater because they thought it would bomb at the box office - they thought no one would want to see a movie that long, so they broke it into 2 parts (I believe Part 2 came out about 6 or 9 months after Part 1). When you watch them both together, that was how Tarrintino originally designed it to be viewed.
I do think that Kill Bill works better as two volumes instead of one long movie. You have the great cliffhanger at the end of the first part, and the badass opening in the second part. Those things are lost in "the whole bloody affair".
I remember as a kid I had this fixation on the "boss' hand with the rings" and this yakuza who kills O-Ren's father (the whole scene with him is just amazing), and then I found out it was Bill and then the whole puzzle came together...
He always looks great. 😁 I hate to sound shallow, but as lovely as Sam is, Tristan is why I began watching their reactions. Of course I was soon won over by their great reactions.
Subbed! Kill Bill: Volume 2 is even better btw. Tarantino filmed both movies back to back as he originally wanted it to be a single film but the production company insisted it was too long and had to be split into two films, which really pissed Tarantino off. Some other great Tarantino films are Jackie Brown, Deatth Proof and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, which was his last film. There's also the Hateful Eight which I have not seen yet so can't comment on that one. Also, Pulp Fiction and Django are definitely must watch for both of you. Reservoir Dogs is good too but overrated in my opinion.
For the life of me I don't understand how the GREATEST sword ever made by a man couldn't EASILY slice through the chain of that meteor hammer of Gogo. Was it case-hardened steel or something? Unlikely.
@Bruce-Wayne-101 I'm not comparing if you read my comment well. Django was a great film. I love that movie too, as a matter of fact... I'm almost done collecting Tarantino's movies. I'm talking about The Hateful Eight. Bruh!!
It was supposed to be just 1 movie called Kill Bill, but even after edits and omitted scenes, it was still too long for a single movie so he split it. Tarantino still counts it as 1 film
Just a note that Kill Bill "1 and 2" is actually one long movie but had to cut to 2 for theatre limitations. the 2nd part is more story driven and less action so don't expect lots of action like the 1st part.
36:09 Hahaha, I don't think I ever really thought to categorize the music at this point, but I think I would distinctly describe this to be ❗MARIMBA!🎹🪘💃
Please react to Tarantino's Once Upon a time in Hollywood. But before you do, if you don't know about The Manson murders, Charles Manson, and the Murder of actress Sharon Tate and her friends, please read up on that piece of true history to fully appreciate Once Upon a time in Hollywood!
The movie is good either way (IMHO), but I remember the Manson murders, and it definitely made a (positive) difference for me when I saw it for the first time.
Great pick ya’ll, pretty much all of Tarantino’s movies are worth watching, he’s a great director and writer, I know yall are watch Volume 2 of this since he left ya’ll hanging lol, Resesvior Dogs 😎 is my favorite of his and yes Django is worth watching. 🙂
I clicked on this video because Sam kind of looked like Alanis Morrissette in the thumbnail. Sadly, no Alanis reaction... That said, this was a good reaction. I'll be back for Volume 2.
Great reaction, great job editing! The Kill Bill movies are my favorite revenge flicks, but I also love the 3 Equalizer movies. May I suggest 2 TV series to review? Lucifer is my favorite, and the new Fallout series had a fantastic first season . . .
The sound effects were from old Bruce Lee movies. Chinese martial arts movies with dubbed English dialogue and wacky exaggerated sounds. David Carradine (Bill) also starred in a great 70's martial arts TV show called "Kung Fu". Tarantino must have been a fan of that show, and Bruce Lee movies.
Reservoir dogs was not Genius..It was a good script with an obscure twist in writing that separated it from the rest of generic crime dramas. Pulp fiction got the academy award ( which is Ify imo)., however, Inglorious Basterds was genius and deserved it MORE because it was a Brilliant ...and a well deserved Academy award for Django ( that you failed to mention)....and Jackie Brown was not Brilliant...just another good crime drama.
You would KNOW if you'd seen Pulp Fiction all the way through...so you def haven't. It's a must watch for any movie fan...I believe it's still somewhere in the top 100 films of all time.
I really hope Tarantino completes and releases his definite cut of the film one day. I think the reveal of her child at the end of vol 1 ruins the story, and his single movie edit removes that line, pushing back the reveal until later, which is a significant improvement.
Kill Bill was to be one movie. But it was so big, that would be hard to do in theaters and QT refused to cut stuff out, so it was divided into Vol.1 and Vol.2. So.. Treat them as a whole, please.

it's really not. lol they're two completely different movies.
No. It's one movie @@elttil
@@accordgolfer thank you haha I started doubting myself then
@ no, it’s one story. hope that helps!
Most of the sound effects you mentioned are references to or taken directly from martial arts films and crime drama TV shows from the 70's.
All of Quentin’s films are react-worthy.
He’s a sublime director.
Kill Bill is probably my favorite Tarantino movie, Django being 2nd.
Kennedys proven jerks for not liking a one-eyed actress.
(I know, have a laugh)
There's a theory that the nameless killer in white during the animated sequence, was actually Bill.
And maybe after becoming Queen of the Tokyo underground, she was like “well I killed Matsumoto, I’m literally top 5 of the hot girl assassins leaderboards, I guess I’m pretty good on revenge for now actually.”
Either way, I do think it would be cool if that was indeed Bill.
Take note of Nicky the little girl off the bus , the hidden part of kill bill😂
The actor who played Bill is David Carradine in real life when he was found dead in Bangkok police suggested the death might have been from accidental suffocation due to auto-erotic asphyxiation, since there was no suicide note and he was found with a rope tied to both his neck and his genitals.
You should watch both Django and Pulp Fiction...both are fantastic.
This is my favorite Tarantino movie.
I remember as a kid I had this fixation on the "boss' hand with the rings" and this yakuza who kills O-Ren's father (the whole scene with him is just amazing), and then I found out it was Bill and then the whole puzzle came together...
lot of 70s vibes in this film.
Amazing classic. So glad they're getting into Tarantino! (And sheeesh, so glad Tristan hasn't been sleeping on the gym, mans looks great! 💪)
He always looks great. 😁
I hate to sound shallow, but as lovely as Sam is, Tristan is why I began watching their reactions. Of course I was soon won over by their great reactions.
@@torontomame stop being creepy
Vol 1 and vol 2 were filmed all at once. They just split it up into 2 movies to manage run time and ratings.
Zoe Bell performed the stuntwork in these films for Uma. She starred in Death Proof. Please do this film. She was also in the Hateful 8 and Malignant.
you have to pause at the right moment, but you can see her name on the airplane ticket
I love it !! You guys dig anime? Please do Ninja Scroll ! Ghost in the Shell !
Aldo neat fact the bald masked leader of the sword fighters is back in Part 2 as The Seifu
For the life of me I don't understand how the GREATEST sword ever made by a man couldn't EASILY slice through the chain of that meteor hammer of Gogo. Was it case-hardened steel or something? Unlikely.
The Hateful Eight by Quentin Tarantino is a must!!! Nobody really talks about this one.
ohyeah. :) i'm certainly not a fan of Tarantino, and i don't think i've seen all of his movies, but "the hateful eight" is his best one, imho.
Because Django was a better western of Tarantino’s lol
@Bruce-Wayne-101 I'm not comparing if you read my comment well. Django was a great film. I love that movie too, as a matter of fact... I'm almost done collecting Tarantino's movies. I'm talking about The Hateful Eight. Bruh!!
@@romaneberle The Hateful Eight was great!!! You just have to love all Tarantino's movies!
Absolutely!!! That film is my top Tarantino movie, I watch it all the time and never bore of it, that’s a must see for them.
All QT movies are linked one way or another with characters , script or prop that floats around his movies , find the links and be rewarded 😂
Perfect, thank you both, kind regards Chris (UK)
Another Tarantino film is "Jackie Brown," starring Pam Grier, Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Deniro (1997).
you guys need all tarantinos 👌
Lucifer is my favorite, and the new Fallout series had a fantastic first season . . .
This is gonna make me morning!
8:19 She shot that gun like a stormtrooper smh
It was inside of a cereal box so aim would be difficult and Vernita was a knife fighter.
@@AFCompany she was literally in front of her , 2 meters top
@@AFCompany she was literally 2 meters in front of her, tops .
If you've seen Pulp Fiction you would know it. Unforgettable!
Jackie Brown is the QT movie everyone forgets!
Hi. About Quentin Tarantino:
Great writing (both dialogues and attention to detail) and awesome taste in music.
Vol 2 is even better!
So vol 2 now? Like exactly now? 😁
Hope you do part 2 right away. Also cnay wait for you to see DJANGO UNCHAINED
Some think that the guy in white who set the fire in the animation may be a young Bill......
Reservoir dogs - Genius
Pulp fiction - all time great
Kill Bills - kung fu great
Jackie Brown - brilliant
❤
Reservoir dogs was not Genius..It was a good script with an obscure twist in writing that separated it from the rest of generic crime dramas. Pulp fiction got the academy award ( which is Ify imo)., however, Inglorious Basterds was genius and deserved it MORE because it was a Brilliant ...and a well deserved Academy award for Django ( that you failed to mention)....and Jackie Brown was not Brilliant...just another good crime drama.
Reservoir Dogs was good but definetely a rip off of Hong Kong movie, City on Fire.
16:00 BAHAHA that dude looks like dude on the right 🤣 and he is watching him like waaait a minute...
Kiddos yellow motorcycle suit is a nod to Bruce Lee.
My favourite is Jackie Brown.
Also notice the ironic name of cereal
You would KNOW if you'd seen Pulp Fiction all the way through...so you def haven't. It's a must watch for any movie fan...I believe it's still somewhere in the top 100 films of all time.
that's a bad ass truck i like the truck fire fuckin reaction 🔥💯🔥
You can really hear the homage to the movie Once upon a time in the west.
RESERVOIR DOGS please! the best 💯
Great video, but when you watch Scream 3? Im still waiting guys
Yass! Me too
One of the best movies of all time
Got a feeling that Tristan gona get a katana and yellow outfit
You guys should watch Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. I think you'd love it.
Easter egg blink and miss it her name is on airplane ticket
Good martial arts 🥋 movie 🎬 David C. R.I.P.
After part 2 do Django
I really hope Tarantino completes and releases his definite cut of the film one day. I think the reveal of her child at the end of vol 1 ruins the story, and his single movie edit removes that line, pushing back the reveal until later, which is a significant improvement.
Definitely recommend True Romance (written by QT), Jackie Brown (my personal favorite of his) and Death Proof/Planet Terror
Kill Bill was to be one movie. But it was so big, that would be hard to do in theaters and QT refused to cut stuff out, so it was divided into Vol.1 and Vol.2.
So.. Treat them as a whole, please.
'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' is his best film as far as rewatch value. It seems like it's always on, and I always stop and watch.
Some of the soundtracks heard in this movie is from the many movies of Bruce Lee.
Volume 2 is great too!! :)
FOR ME THE BEST TARANTINO MOVIE
VOLUME 2 TOO
fun fact quentin tarentino has a food fetisch, if you see many of his muvies you will noticit. btw, ome of my favorit tarentino muvis is calld from dusk till dawn, george clunie has a main roll in it. its horror / action muvie. the spezial effects show ther old times
"has a food fetisch" That pig!!!! :-)
what FOOD is his fetish lol, tuna sandwiches...mashed potatoes & gravy...what? ( now go edit so people understand )
I think you meant "foot" fetish.
forging a katana is realy interesting, if you wana know more abowd it, ther are some dokumentarys on youtube if your interestet, btw they do it whit way mor adwancet smitng tecnics then the ezropean at the same time
Guys what happened to your Interstellar video?
i dont know how its now, but back in older periodes, they tuck forge of katanas like religion, just honorring wat they made
It sucks watching reactions by people that have already seen a film, but are acting (badly) as if they haven't. The guy in this duo is literally calling lines and scenes before they happen, but we're all supposed to pretend as if he's just lucky or prescient. Not buying it.
He's seen it
From Dusk til Dawn is a cool Quentin movie
Thats Directed by Robert Rodriquez....and its only semi- Co- written by Quinten.
