Not a spoiler... maybe you missed it, but Jamie did not kill Roger. When he handed unconscious Roger to Ian, Ian asks "should I kill him" implying Roger is alive, just knocked out.
@@euodiaclitterhouse4726Same. I appreciate Roger's development (no spoilers). But currently he's so quick to anger and always SO quick to see the worst in Bre when they have disagreements. It's like you have to walk on eggshells to stay within his ideals.
He's not, again, just like Frank, excusing things away as "old-fashioned" is excusing abusive behavior. He wants to owe Brianna just like Frank owned Claire.
He doesn't have that much development, they just tried and tweak things away to make people like him. That walk-on-eggshells feeling is how things are in abusive relationships.@@Nani.101
I think we've told you before that Murtagh died at Culloden in the books, so probably one of my favorite things about that change in the show is that Murtagh has met both Brianna and William. Plus Young Ian. This misunderstanding/miscommunication story line is my LEAST favorite story in Outlander. I hate it so much. I've always hated dramatic irony (when the audience knows something the characters don't) and this is the worst version of that EVER. There are so many places this mess could have been prevented if they had all just been more open and honest with each other.
My sentiments exactly. Plotting by stupid misunderstanding is my least favorite device ever. I always skip over this part of the book, too, because it makes me mad. Big DG fan but no one is perfect.
How can one of my favorite episodes of the show also contain one of the scenes most painful to watch for me?? Outlander playing with all of our hearts...
I always fast forward to the part where Lizzie meets Brianna at the docks and stop watching when she makes her terrible mistaken identity. So it's a Lizzie controlled episode for me.😅
Yup, Roger's beating is all down to you, Imon! 😋 Yes, I know exactly what you mean that this was harder than any of the other truly awful things that have happened to them, because it has the potential to completely fracture the family! So heartbreaking! And yet, Jamie meeting Brianna is one of the most heart warming moments of the series! All in one episode.... one of my favourites for sure!!
I'm not sure about what is going on for you, but I hope you continued the series for yourself. Even if you have stopped the channel. Frank also played in Game of Thrones.
Roger is 8 years older than Bree. Each were raised in different settings. Bree is immature, Roger is a professor & should be more world wise & mature. he's not. This happened differently in the book, a little more in favor of Roger, but results were the same. Having the little exposure to Roger in the show, you have little info to base your reaction on. Not your fault. The writers didn't do him any favors in how he was presented. They wanted your view to be biased toward him imho. Thankfully he does redeem himself, but first images are hard to shake.
If anything, Roger is immature and controlling. Being younger than someone doesn't make one immature, especially when women mature faster than men, as evident by Roger's misogynist personality.
I loved the reunion soooo much. All the tears.

Thanks for your reactions ❤
Roger is a good man, a really good man. He is just a little old fashioned in the eyes of a modern woman. He truly does love Brianna.
I think he says the wrong thing sometimes that makes him seem like a dick
He saves all his cruelest behavior for the woman he loves. I'll pass.

Roger is a good guy, sometimes he makes mistakes, but in the end you will love him
Mmmmm no he sucks lmao and is literally one of the worst characters. Bre should have married someone else
He'snot.

@@pjthompson1443 it doesn't make sense to get rid of it entirely, bad communication happens all the time

I was with you, sobbing at every tender moment between Bri and Jamie.

Roger sure didn't deserve that... But I found it hard to care very much. He's numbed my heart towards him too many times already.

@@rhiahlMT hi I finished the series. Waiting for November for the finale! Not sure if my reactions aren’t popping up for you?
@@ImonSnow It only shows up to Season 4 Episode 9. I'll go through the playlists again. Thanks!
@@ImonSnow Found them in the videos. They aren't on the playlist though. Thanks I'll finish those tonight!

Roger is very toxic towards Brianna. I don't think they ever should have gotten together. Brianna deserved better than him.
LJG!
Aot reaction?
"The show can't get any darker..." erm... well... 🫢
