As someone who has been sexually assaulted, the scene at 4:29 was incredibly powerful. It took years of therapy to get to that point for me.

As a small woman it was always apparent to me that I couldn't fight a grown man. Those I lived around, family and social acquaintances, all thought that if you weren't dead then you hadn't fought hard enough! As though they preferred you dead than violated?? I told a church elder straight out that it was stupid to think my value as daughter, friend, future wife and mother was immediately tied to my vagina. The rest of me didn't matter? Well if I didn't matter to them without virginity then they didn't matter to me. People like that were hateful and I rid myself of them. You, me, WE are precious whether we can fight wolves or not.

@@Blue-rl5dp Thank you for this message. I couldn't agree more! Unfortunately, there will always be people who will choose to blame the victims instead of the perpetrators, which is deeply sad. In my case, I blamed myself. Until, I was able to understand that it was about survival, and not weakness.

Is there anything better than when our... oh so intuitive, professional storyteller herself, gets to the point of exclaiming: "What's Going To Happen NEXT?" I absolutely love this! Great, great reaction to a great episode!

Anna I loved your scream of frustration at the end. 😅 One critical piece of time travel in the Gabaldon universe, in addition to the gem stone bit, is that having someone that you love in the time you want to go to helps you "steer" in regard to when you end up. Roger and Bree had a huge fight when he first found her over that. She literally said, "You're here! How am I going to get home now?" No idea why they left such an important element out. The rest of the season is a roller coaster from here on so brace yourself. 😃

Claire told Brianna about. Randall when she still thought Jamie was dead.

So haven't read the books, but here's my take on the time travel: think of the two different times as two rivers side by side. You can leave one and get in the other, but the first still flows. This is why Claire left before Culloden, doesn't 20 years in the 20th century, then returned to the 18th century 20 years later. Gillian was in a slightly different time stream, so arrived in the 18th century earlier than Claire even though she left the 20th after. In my head-cannon, Roger/Claire/Brianna all share the same time stream because of how close they are. Other time travelers would inhabit their own streams, like the skull Claire going with the silver tooth in it earlier this season.
If anyone were to leave one steam, wait a week in the other, then come back, they'd be certain to arrive one week late in the first stream. Without rush of popping out somewhere random in time.

Love this reaction! You look beautiful, I hope that means you're feeling better.😊 The show makes it look like you can just pop back and forth but the book makes it very clear that it is quite painful to travel, getting worse each time. I love when you say, "oh no!" and then you plug your ears!😍 Love these Anna look forward to seeing your reaction! 😉

As always, love your reactions. Makes me wish I could go back and watch for the very first time again!
I've been listening to the Outlander soundtracks and got to wondering if you notice the music. (I don't think I did until my dozenth or so watch. Lol) Bear McCreary is a genius. There are so many theme songs. Jamie and Claire's (of course), Roger and Bree, Lord John, Willie, Frank(I think is my favorite. It is so hauntingly beautiful) Murtagh, Young Ian. Even evil Steven Bonnet has a theme. There is also the Frasers Ridge theme. The music is so masterfully done that even now there are times I hear a theme where I never noticed it on the previous 100 rewatches🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️

I don't think we've ever been told, book or show, precisely where this particular stone-circle/time-portal is. Roger said in the books that it was two weeks north of Fraser's Ridge, so depending on how many miles a day you travel (and I'm betting the Mohawk were travelling fairly quickly and fairly directly), I'm thinking it's somewhere in Virginia, or maybe modern-day West Virginia (which was still just Virginia then).

Standing up for Ian - proposing to Brianna was Jamie's idea in the book. Ian wasn't opposed to it, but he did it at Jamie's request. Just another little example of how the show makes Jamie a bit more... palatable? for today's standards

    hahaha.... not bees.
Yes, a lot of interesting stuff in the next episode. It's one I really like! Aunt Jocasta and others get a taste of the modern daughter. lol!

I understand the need to compare the books and the show story deviations but remember a writer can take pages to describe one tiny detail but if a tv show does not have the right pacing it will not get watched no matter how good the story.. i understand them consolidating some events like the real bear and the man/bear.. just enjoy the show as it is and when you finally read the books make your own judgements.. remember it is based on not a word for word reproduction and as always I enjoy your reactions and am glad you are recovering from your experience and always love those cliff hanger endings

In the book, it felt like around 30 chapters from when Jamie beat up Roger, till we found out what had happened to him. Every chapter I was saying, "where is Roger?" What happened to Roger?" WTF IS ROGER FFS!!!" So show viewers got off lightly lol.

I remember waiting for Lizzy to spill the beans in the book lol. I feel like it took forever, but I need to re-read the series again.

@Anna Alexander lol, it was probably about 5 chapters, but it felt like forever.

Bree is gonna stay angry a good loooong while. She's got a good dose of the MacKenzie in her.
And see why I don't like Lizzie? Everything that happens to sweet Roger is on her...and James Alexander Malcolm MacKenzie Fraser. Grrr.
Auntie Jocasta is hale all the way to the beginning of the war, FYI. Those MacKenzies are hard to get rid of.
Yeah...you remember that skull with 20th century fillings? Pretty sure the circle Roger stumbles across is how Otter Tooth got there.
I THINK they're still in Virginia when Roger finds the circle. In the book, there are myrtle bushes and they're a southern plant.
    Steven FCUKING Bonnet...🤐

Can't stand brianna...slapping her own father for a coward of a guy(roger) who left you alone to get raped!? What drug did the author take while writing that.
