@7:01 That Pontiac commercial was illuminating. Apparently Pontiac had a whole series of commercials with foreign accents to compare against foreign cars. And I just assumed the Japanese accent in another volume was just quaint 80s racism.
I remember that Heath commercial way back then (I was only 3-4 years old & haven't seen it since then). I also remember seeing that Dristan ad. I sure miss Annette and those Skippy commercials. She is/was such an angel. Wish her well...
That Mountain Dew commercial looked like a typical fun day with your friends in the summertime. I agree that they should put Mountain Dew in glass bottles b/c it brings out a retro look and will make the soda taste a little better. Great commercials.
1:54 Dana Plato ( was "Kimberly" on the sitcom "Diff'rent Strokes" ) never saw her in a commercial before now--- SO sad she met the tragic child actor fate
I make frozen veggies and ground turkey with pasta, almost like the Birdseye commercial! Add shredded sharp cheddar and a side of mashed potatoes for the ultimate comfort food! And applesauce too.
That Bird's Eye commercial is pretty pathetic. But then again, 1980 is just so ancient with its gender roles.... While Montgomery Ward provided clothes for the 70s news, Botany 500 still handled the game shows! TV PHONE HOME WHAT IS THIS I DON'T EVEN Breathing bag test FAIL even with Ms. Bignose!
As much as its outdated technology by now, that Zenith TV sounds awesome. A phone in a TV, well shit now I know what Apple's going to steal from next. ;) *says a person using a MacBook* And might I just say I love people's comments about the Birds Eye ad. Just incredible. xD Also the Jell-O commercial is proberbly Bill Cosby at his Bill Cosby-iest from what I've seen of him. :D

Bill Cosby's Jello commercials are classics. Love those old Mountain Dew commercials! Soda (or pop) always tasted better in glass bottles!
That Zenth TV looks very cool!
Almost choked when I heard "Montgomery Ward". Wow that surely took me back. Good upload again.
@j85 what made it taste better back then was that they used REAL sugar
Dang, I would love it if Mountain Dew were still available in glass bottles like that.
I totally remember the Zenith Space phone TVs in Gemco.
I think that Hero dog food slogan is going to be in my head the rest of the afternoon.

fashionable collars at 2:59 means collars that wasn't as big as your head like the collars in the 1970s
"We aaalready duug in!" Ah..classic stuff!
Big dogs are big sweethearts
I miss Bill Cosby's Jell-O commercials.
I wish I could get a Mnt Dew in a glass bottle like that. That would be cool.
"I'll starve. All I can make is hamburger"
Then make hamburger.
I want a glass of French Columbuuuhd with my Birds Eye vegetable-like substance.
Dig that boring news set. And the idea of answering your phone through the TV intrigues me.
@2:46 So many mustaches...
the food in that first commercial looked disgusting!
I want a Spacephone!
0:44 - annoying coworker stares at operator while she works.
Can't men do anything for themselves?
@MsFarzee good catch!
