I always loved the synth at the end of Punky Brewster 2:09, and it's so cool that they actually made the stars of one show introduce the next cartoon! Love this retro stuff! Keep it alive!
I remember that My Little Pony movie commercial. I was in kindergarten, and it was one of the first movies I clearly remember watching in theaters. I saw it with a bunch of other movies at a film festival with my auntie.
C'mon man Ruby-Spears Enterprises (@6:11)!!! WOW! memory jogger for sure. Big big in the 80s. Their ending card is as iconic as Stephen Cannell's ending card. Interesting how each one of us remembers certain things out of this era. I was always into tv production ever since elementary school and was curious as to who were behind television (and film) productions I would love to watch so I would always look at the end credits and RS was one that stuck (and Marcy Carsey ;) )
Ah the 80s! At the time of PSA the messages were mainly Just Say No, don't get in the car with a stranger, and don't drink beer because your dad does. I'm surprised the friend in that psa didn't suggest root beer instead.
LOL...your description of Rocky Road Ice Cream Cereal is the same way my brother felt about it when he saw this commercial again. Would have loved to have seen the nutritional info....
awesome kidd video, I don't remember the cartoon at all but I do remember the music videos at the end with the live action characters. I had a crush on the drummer. what ever happened to justine bateman? her brother is everywhere now days.
that would've been awesome: "your dad has a beer after the game. so what?" [sip} (belch) "that doesn't mean ..(braaaaap!).."oh excuse me. A little came back on that one" [sip] [chug] "..you have to."
This is literally the only place on UA-cam I can find ANY marketing from the time for the original My Little Pony movie. There was probably a theatrical trailer somewhere, but it has yet to make it online, apparently. Also, when's the Johnny Sincere biopic coming out?
I distinctly remember that Dream Glow Barbie ad. i really wanted one, but since they used "special fabric for TV", does that mean she didn't REALLY glow after all? I think Sunkist grandpa needs to cut down on the 'shrooms just a bit! chocolate covered marshmallows in a cereal?! really?!
Less restrictive, less PC times. "Don't have to drink because your dad does, but it IS o.k for him because ,he works, and pays the damn bills! around here". He is almost giving a drunk dad lecture in a family friendly cadence. Today's version of that PSA would chastise the parent for having alcohol potentially accessible to a minor. But its all moot because 10 yr. olds hate the taste of beer. In reality he would have took a small sip and thrown it out upon finding there was no sugar in it.
MLP before the "new" series kicked off a rather annoying internet image meme, and it opens THE FRIDAY AFTER SCHOOLS OUT! 60 kids disappear! Must be some elaborate magic act! ROCKY ROAD! That rocks!!!! Kidd Video ending FTW! However, when the voice over switches to the grown up SPORTS programming, I knew another Saturday morning was coming to a close :( I was the biggest Sid Haircut fan! Down with Sincere! *LOL*

I am in love with these Saturday morning commercials that you have been uploading lately. Thanks to you and MrPitt.
My Little Pony had several A-Listers providing voiceovers. Also, this seems to be the beginnings of “Stranger Danger.”

I kind of wish they still did commercials like that for Cheerios with the Cheerio-Kid.
Craziness! School didn't let out until June! It lets out in May now.
School also didn't typically start until after labor day, it starts in mid August now
Now school starts the first week of August.

"Bow wow, bow wow, wow! Nothing can stop the Smooze!!!" Sorry. LOL!

Alvin's a little rascal...HAHA oh, that cracks me up!
I wish they had their game show hosts at the time do One To Grow On (Jim Perry, Chuck Woolery, Pat Sajak, Vanna White and Bert Convy)
Oh man, I remember the Sunkist commercial!
This is literally the only place on UA-cam I can find ANY marketing from the time for the original My Little Pony movie. There was probably a theatrical trailer somewhere, but it has yet to make it online, apparently.

Punky Brewster cartoon, forgot all about that one and i am glad i did LOL!
"Oreos are better when you share 'em..."
No they're not. 'Cause then, you have fewer oreos for yourself.
I'm surprised the guy from Riptide wasn't drinking a beer while giving out the anti-beer advice!
Rocky Road Cereal needs to make a comeback, but as an adult snack.
Marsha marshmellow from the rocky road cereal, looks like Ms.Pacman
If I remember Rocky Road cereal turned milk into disgusting sludge!
I got brought here by the website My 80's TV!
now I want some Rocky Road...

Kidd Video...classic

I remember it being a bad thing in 80's elementary school...
@TheTaergy I haven't seen it and am not really interested in doing so.

@blugreen123 I had one--she glowed, but no where near as awesome. The glowing faded over the years too.
Sunkist!
OOps not Rocky Road Ice Cream Cereal but simply Rocky Road Cereal...my bad.
Did anyone ever try Rocky Road Cereal? I'm curious to know if it was any good...
@jmkenned You do realize his advice is meant for children, right?
Is Perry King in fact Jeff Foxworthy?
No
the kids in those one to grow one commercials where all really bad actors. also I think the rocky Road cereal sounds really good.
Perry King was great in Class of 1984, but come on, celebrate with milk? What is he, a Mormon?
They need to bring Rocky Road back. Just saying.
@jmkenned I agree, nice try but the message was lost by the lame writing on that one. And where is their mother anyway?
how does he know wgat bear tastes like?
