I was only a year old when this aired. A year and 7 days old. :3 80sCommercialVault, you're as close to a time machine as we're going to get. Thank you! :D
I have a subscription to Family Circle magazine and it came in the mail yesterday. I am sure their readership is terribly low but my mom got it back in the 80's and I would read it as well...it is a girl /mom type of magazine then and still today.
@blugreen123 Roy Rogers is a chain of fast food restaurants on the east coast. The menu is kind of a mix of Arby's, KFC and a hamburger joint. I remember eating at one when I was a kid. It took me a while, but the news promo is actually talking about "mail order youth", as in products to make you look younger.
LIKE, OH MY GAWD, ATARI GAMES FROM THE 70S FOR FREE IN THE 80S Eggs and Sausage Legs, why not? ;) That NBC Sports ad uses a Price Is Right music cue! Nice. WPLJ was a great station before they started doing more "hit" music years later. Roy Rogers was GREAT before Hardee's bought them out :(
3 80's commercial vault videos down, 221 to go. I sense a headache coming. "I had a headache this big, but I took Excedrin and it's gone." Love that Excedrin in a canister. Right after the Tylenol Poisonings
Amazing how the caricature of the Valley Girl hasn't changed since it's inception. (of course, it was never far from the real thing, was it?) She's no Moon Zappa though. :D
@Itzpower I think it would've been hilarious if they included some of their bad games like their version of "Pac-Man" or "E.T." when they were showing off their great games.
doesn't "The Dark Continent" sound kind of ominous? besides, every family vacay needs belly-dancers there were commercials for Family Circle magazine?! I'm w/ you on the sausage LEGS, what happened to "links"? so are we to believe that Chanel perfume covers up the odor of horse manure? what kind of restaurant was Roy Rogers? I want to see that news piece about "mail order youths"

I was almost a year and a half. This makes me feel so old!
Oh my god. That Atari commercial... SO EIGHTIES... IT HURTS... AND YET IT IS AWESOME. TO THE MAX!
You know the 80s is the best decade for entertainment when you find yourself entertained by purposely watching commercials.
I love you so much. Oh, and I watched this episode of SNL while I was babysitting when it aired live.
RIP Vidal Sassoon. I remember they used the Sassoon D commercial on TJW as a fee plug.

Check out Mark Paul Gosselaar's ( of NBC's Saved By The Bell fame) 80's bowl hair cut in the Stanley tools commercial --YIKES!
That announcer in the Denny's commercial TOTALLY said "sausage legs!!"
I wish i grew up in the 80's :(
Bottles of Chanel racing...man that's good stuff haha

Did anyone notice that the NBC Sports promo used music from "The Price is Right"?

NBC Sports advert sounded like The Price is Right there for a bit. o.o
By 1983, ATARI was already on it's last breath, and was forced to give away free games.

Hey, its the Grand Nagus. Quaark!
I would think that "sausage legs" are what you get if you eat too many Grand Slams.
That's sausage "links."
I need to see this "One Dark Night."
I miss Vidal Sassoon hair products.
@holbrooke7 I know what a sausage link is. :/ The announcer is definitely saying "sausage legs".
@Itzpower I think it would've been hilarious if they included some of their bad games like their version of "Pac-Man" or "E.T." when they were showing off their great games.
yes, it looks like him.
