I remember Slush Puppies, I wish they still had those in the stores. Plus, that's Casey Kasem v/o the bumpers for "The Snorks" and "The Adventures of Gummi Bears"
That excitement to wake up early saturday mornings to catch a new episode of your favorite cartoon is now gone thanks to the internet and cartoon network
Among the list of names who voiced The Snorks: Nancy Cartwright (who later voiced Bart Simpson) and Jean Vander Pyl, who voiced Wilma Flintstone in the 1960s. Wow. Just wow.
I remember those McDonald's pails well. They were good toys for the sandbox & the beach that Pop Tarts ad was amazing I want a Princess Of Power! They looked pretty cool.
@jmkenned He was on the NBC series "Riptide" when this aired. The "One To Grow On" spots featured NBC personalities, not necessarily well-known or bankable celebrities.
OMG I remember that Circus Fun cereal...I begged my mom to buy it for me and was so excited when I first ate it...then the taste...Oh my...the taste..terrible. and I also had those Hello Color dolls..they were pretty freaking awesome! lol
I made this comment almost 2 years ago. To clafify, whenever I comment on something here (especially commercials) I usually use ellipses for when I transition to a different subject, rather than making multiple comments at once. Yes I know Casey Kasem was not a kid in the 80s, and that kid I was referring to was Brian Austin Green. It just didn't dawn on me at the time that it was him.
I completely forgot about slush puppy, we had one in our middle school it was always more water than ice with a squirt of juice but it was awesome it might have been the way the old guy made them.
PB&J Pop Tarts sounds like it might actually be good. I wonder if they still make those. I haven't bought Pop Tarts in years because they taste like sugary sugar with sugar on top now that I'm an adult...
Michigan couldn't come up with a better one than " U R IT "? I like those 1-620,000 odds too Seeing evil girls on Saturday morning ads? Preposterous? Almost as far out as PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY POP TARTS
Well, I've been banging my head against the wall for years, wondering why they don't make Apple and Cinnamon Pop Tarts anymore! Even if they ever did bring them back, I couldn't buy them..... because I have to buy a new wall!

4:30 - the Hanna-Barbera bump is symbolic of my childhood during Saturday Mornings!
Those eight minutes went so fast! Thanks, this was great.
I remember Slush Puppies, I wish they still had those in the stores. Plus, that's Casey Kasem v/o the bumpers for "The Snorks" and "The Adventures of Gummi Bears"
That Slush Puppy commercial makes me think back to the days when stores like Target, Walmart, and Kmart had what were called "snack bars".
Yes! I still remember the smell of popcorn as soon as the swinging automatic door opened to k-mart
William Crowe The best part of it was to me was the Kmart subs that came in a 2 count plastic bags
I loved Slush Puppies as a kid. I haven’t ran across any Slush Puppy anything since the early 90s

Slush Puppy: Brain freeze in a cup!
I remember having one too.
We really need another One to Grow On program. This might help them. People act so childish these days especially adults.
Every time I see the Happy Pals, I keep thinking of Aqua Teen Hunger force :P
I turned 9 years old june 7th 1986.
This aired 20 days before I was born
Whoa wait, I can't ride Texas Tornado for 9.50, but then they tell me how cool it is. Damn them!
This air exactly 27 years ago today is June 7th
My fave Slush Puppy flavor was "Bahama Mama." Mmm, sugar rush...
Dam I was only one years old in that time lol

PB&J Poptarts? Wh... Why don't we have those anymore?
Just what I was gonna ask.
Well, I've been banging my head against the wall for years, wondering why they don't make Apple and Cinnamon Pop Tarts anymore! Even if they ever did bring them back, I couldn't buy them..... because I have to buy a new wall!
@Chad9976 Google 2225 S. Georgia in Amarillo. Looks like they are still in business selling boots n' jeans after all.
Who the hell is Thom Bray?
I don't know why, but a PB&J pop tart sounds kinda gross to me.
what ever happened to the real food that tastes normal
7:43 Eww, I don't remember PB&J pop tarts, but it sounds disgusting. Like someone else said I'm sure it didn't last long for a reason.
As much as I've always loved the "One To Grow One" spots, I skip over 5:18 .
That voice is so annoying!
