First I want to say that your UA-cam channel has been a bright spot in my year and I thank you for your content. Let me explain, everyone has had a bad year with the COVID BS but mine has been a year from hell. For the past two years I have been taking care of my parents and they both past away 3 months ago. Then to top everything off my dog of 14 years was put down today. This has been the worst year of my life. Even though your channel does not take all the pain away it gives me a bit of relief and I thank you for that. Keep up the great work and maybe someday Ill get to go out there with you.

Great work on the challenge Andy! Excellent video content too. We used to fish for eels as kids, I remember cooking them up with batter mixed with salt and pepper. We take a frying pan and jar full of batter with us down to the river... ah the good ol' days. I'm a fair bit older now, and recently moved up to cairns. I'd like to try an over night adventure in the jungle, it'd be great to free the mind for a day or so. If you are ever up cairns way, and feel like showing someone the ropes (I have a few fears about doing this the first time round -- namely how do I safely park my car without coming back to it destroyed and various other concerns of a similar nature). Thanks again for the great content!

    • @Andysfishing

I still remember not having to lock my bike up as a kid. I think I need to get myself a sat phone before I head into the jungle. broken bones and snake bites are my biggest concern. Noises in the night could have me break out the torch, but unlikely to be of much concern. Although our minds like to embellish

    Hi Andy,
Great vid on the "Chain of Life" in the small pond. I have caught many Tuna off Kona, when using a small (anchovy-size fish) bait for a small Bonita, hooking the Bonita and catching larger Ahi... They have FAD (Fish Aggregate Devises) off shore and you can witness the chain of life from Anchovies up to 1,000 lb Black Marlin... I truly enjoy your respect for the environment, respect for the animals and your true joy in every fish you catch... Steve from Nagoya

Impressed by the small 22 size hook. I fish with size 12 hooks on a regular basis: take the kids (4 and 6) and bring them to our local creek (basically behind our house). Small piece of bait under a bridge, and the kids are entertained pulling out small fish for 2-3 hours. Also great way to show them different species of fish we otherwise struggle to get! Good fun all around, and I get the odd herring I can put on as live bait on the bigger hook. So far caught a flatty and a mangrove jack doing that.
Small fish we have caught: herring (target species), juvenile mangrove jack, Moses perch, stripy, bream and others.

Great vid Andy reminds me of my younger days ,with a few mates we'd go down the creek and catch yabbies to catch fish to eat from about the age of ten or set snares to catch a rabbit always had a great time. I hope some youngsters watch your videos and do the same ,one of my favourite sayings is ,If you give a man a fish he will eat for a day but if you teach a man to fish or hunt he will eat for the rest of his life.

When I was a kid I was an "expert" eel catcher (unintentionally). The berry tasting brought back recent memories: After a few beverages, my neighbor and I decided to taste some random berries on the edge of the property (lol)... we only licked them, but found our mouths started stinging/becoming numb... We called poison control- yeah, the person on the phone definitely thought of us as the idiots we were! I'm thankful to see you throwing caution to the wind here, it's not just me!!!!!
