- I travel to an uninhabited island in the tropical north and explore while fishing up a huge river on that island. Cooking up my dinner which is fish tacos and sleeping on my boat. I pitch the tent on my casting deck and in the morning I have some of the best walk in fishing I have ever had.

As far as I know, the rule is: You catch a fish on "last cast", you have to cast again. At least thats how I do it haha.

Great vid Andy. Awesome hole you found there, such a nice little out of the way spot loaded with fish. No biting nasties at night even, place is perfect! Boat anchored in a little salt pond on a low tide at night seems like good living man, real good.
Try soft corn or corn and flour tortillas instead of those hard shell corn meal ones for a change you might like them a lot. Easy to warm up just laying them on top of the fish for a minute or two as it finishes cooking.
I made Tortilla fish wraps some time ago they were good and I do like them better than hardshell, there were sandflies at night but with the mozzie coil in the tent it made it really good.
Finally after 3 weeks ❤️. I am addicted to watching Andy fishing 🎣

When I set the tent up on the boat it’s quite good but this trip was hot, so I didn’t, now it’s cooler I can set the tent up again

My technique for crab here on the Oregon/Washington coast is to only let the pots set for fifteen minutes or so. I just drop a string of pots and go back to the first one and pull it almost immediately then work my way down and repeat. The crabs go in and out way quicker than I expected.
I’ve got a feeling you’re hunting blue crab and there’s a lot more of them 15 minutes you will never catch anything here

Been a long time sub of yours. I crab a lot in the territory & during the wet the fresh pushes the muddies out to the mouth of the systems & in deeper holes where they find more concentrated salt water (they hate the fresh)
So might be worth chucking your pots at the mouth next time you go out, it’s great to see such a healthy jack population out there, cheers 🍻

There was actually quite a lot of crab pots there which is why I didn’t catch any crabs I think

Hay andy with the crab pots mate when there is alot of fresh find deeper areas around the mouth of creeks and also look for little gutters and creeks that go into the mangroves like when you are casting for barra that was how my grandfather taught me and we catch more then we don't cheers Andy another good video

I just came back from the best fishing trip of my life, caught many cod, big bream, nice size red throat emperor like the one you caught in episode 494. And to top it off the last day of the trip I caught my second ever mangrove jack which is my new personal best at 67cm. Love your stuff Andy!

Hey, welcome back Andy !!! I'll trade you the humidity and flies for the cold and snow here in Michigan...LOL That's crazy how those newer trolling motors can be totally unusable when the remote malfunctions.. I guess I'll stick with my older foot controlled motor..Great video...
Isn’t it funny how we always want somebody else has got, right about now a week of 10° sounds great. I think something inside the motor is burnt out I have to make sure
@@Andysfishing Well, good luck with that.. I have wanted to get one of the new GPS trolling motors but they are really expensive..Every few years I upgrade to a newer used motor.. Maybe in a few years I can get the newer models when the price comes down...Plus, I am still using the older gator-mount style motors and would have to learn how to switch out the mounts...Stay safe my friend...
I seem to get four or five years out of the trolley motor it’s pretty expensive when they cost 2 1/2 thousand

No, many people say not to use Cod, but I think I was too far into the freshwater.

Yes there was actually a lot of crab pots in the water that I didn’t film which is why I didn’t catch any I think, my PJ’s were full length and I didn’t want to get eaten by sandflies of March flies so I left them on
Really need a bit of a tutorial on accurate casting. You are really good, Include some comment please as you go to help accurate bait placement. Its the key to most successful freshwater fishing. Nice vid Andy. REALLY enjoyed it.
