Done it also. Felt like I was in the movie 127 hours taking the bloody hook out, head throbbing, sweating like crazy. Just gotta get it out
yes happened to me fishing the river, got a spinner stuck i thought i was going to have to go to the ER to have it removed lol. but i manned up and yanked that ish out lol
It's not like I say count to three and go on two!

I swap out trebles for a single hook, partly for this reason.

I almost shattered a tooth i cringed so hard! I've had the same happen while fishing, got the pike in the boat and was just about to bonk it in the head and it started fighting. Got one of the treble hooks on that skin and tendons and muscle between the thumb and the next finger. Just makes it a bit spicier when you got a trashing fish on the other hooks and you on the other.
Anyways it's usually easier to try to push the hook through and cut it once it's through like i did if it has trebles. Different story if it's in the bone.
Glad you got it out and it didn't ruin ur fishing trip :) It really does take balls to do that hah!

Andy needs his own tv show, like Les the Bush tucker man from the 80s. I think Rod Brendl had a show too. I along with the rest of the world would definitely tune into Andy’s Fishing and Wild cook. Great content and entertainment. Andy can take us anywhere thanks to his motorized glider.

Yes, some days I push too far.
Andy sometimes a treble won't come out because of the barb I'm pretty sure yu kno this but if you push it through all the way the barb can be pinched down with pliers and then slipped out but anyways thank you for making an overnighter happen I've been wanting to see one 💪👍 thx mate

Wow Andy you put your self in danger .I was almost ill after the hook in the finger .Then you soak in the water in the dark .I was on the edge of my seat .I remember the mosquito days when in Qld .your a real sweetie.

Andy I highly recommend taking the treble off the lure. I’ve seen the hook removed before only for the second treble to bury in as the first one comes out

Bravo keeping it together with the surgery and man, you’re nuts walking through an area with a crock right by where you’re wading through, stuff like that happens when you’re in the field, good work man. I cursed out loud right as you did when the fish thrashed. I flinched when you kissed the lure hahaha

Hi Andy I learnt the hard way to keep my fingers clear of the hooks, I got one in my finger out the reef off Townsville and got an infection. Be careful of infection especially in the J, everything gets infected easily. Was river system are you on?

It doesn't look like the most comfortable of adventures. Crocs, humidity and mosquitoes. Could almost feel you pain getting that hook in your finger as well not to mention the dropped mangrove jack. Done well to keep up the moral. Great episode

That happened to me once the hook was almost through my finger so I pushed it all the way through bent the barb and pulled it out

Mate that hurts! It has happened to me few times with trout. The proper way to get it out is to push it through from the other spot, press of the barb and then it comes out smoothly. (Btw. Used to comment as Simo´s fishing and adventure before but that don´t exist anymore, Im the same guy though.)
