- how trauma changes your brain 👇🏼
trauma can spike your cortisol and dysregulate your nervous system to such a large degree that it disrupts the functioning of your brain 🥹
specifically in your amygdala, your hippocampus, and your prefrontal cortex 🤯
PTSD / C-PTSD are acquired neurodivergence, and the overlap in symptoms may be why people who’ve gone through trauma think they have ADHD later in life 🧠
if you’ve been through trauma, you may also suddenly be experiencing :
✨ difficulty with focus and attention
✨ difficulty with decision making
✨ brain fog
✨ difficulty with memory
✨ mood swings
✨ difficulty planning and organizing
✨ difficulty with problem-solving
✨ hypervigilance
✨ sudden irritability
✨ difficulty with emotional regulation
the good news is that your brain is capable of adopting, and recovering from the effects of trauma through the neuroplasticity gained from somatic exercises in 60 days 🥰
somatic exercises reconnect your mind and your body, helping to rewire and restore your prefrontal cortex, hippocampus, and your amygdala 🤌🏼
these exercises facilitate stress reduction, allowing your body to release tension and promote a sense of calm 🩵
by soothing your nervous system, somatic exercises create an optimal environment for your brain to regain balance and function more effectively 🙌🏼
doing somatic exercises builds new neural pathways into balance, healing, and growth 🌸
having the tool of somatic exercises to regulate your nervous system and build new neural pathways allows you to move through your daily life without being limited by your symptoms 💖
as you regulate your nervous system, you’ll feel much lighter both physically and emotionally 🙌🏼
you’ll have the ability to regulate your emotions, and will be able to focus with more ease 🌸

Yes, this happened to me after a near fatal accident. My brain was never the same. Brain fog, lack of focus, anxiety, procrastination, delayed sleep cycle, memory issues, all started after my accident. It took me 6.5 years to really understand.

When your worst fear comes true then its very hard to recover and when so many people who know you and don't know you know that your fears are real then mock you for being this way makes it very difficult to recover!!! How i am still here i don't know.. so much pain!!!
This has happened to me I don't know why I'm still here either, people can be very cruel. I'm sorry you went through this too😢
