Yesss I’m 14 months in. I finally waited 7 weeks to retwist and omg the amount of new growth was insane! I make my own Loc products. 3 part rose water, aloe Vera, and purified water with my favorite essential oils daily and my hair is fully moisturized. I have low porosity hair so I have to stay away from thick oils. My go tos are light oils. For hot oil treatments I combine Argan oil, sweet almond oil and avocado oil with essential oils like Bergamot, lavender, peppermint oils ect lol I did a lot of research on oils for my type hair and I think everyone should! Research is key. My sis says my hair smells like a rose bush and that’s with all things natural. I love this journey even more cause I “know” exactly what my hair loves now. Your locs are GORGEOUS! And the bounce, whew 🤧. They look healthy and full. I'm 1 year loc'd and heading in for a retwist this weekend. I think one of my main issues is the inconsistency with retwists. I'll get one and won't go back for 3-4 months, then the next time I get retwisted, I go back after 1.5- 2 months. I like your every 2 month recommendation. My ultimate weakness is ponytails though. I work in a hospital and keep my hair pulled back nearly everyday. I need to find lower tension styles that can still keep my hair up and away to prevent thinning and receding hairline.
Awwww thank you ❤️❤️❤️ and yes definitely try to do the 2 month Retwist. Consistency is key 🔑. As for the pony tail, I feel you. Its just a matter of it not being TOO tight. But you got this!! Keep it going and enjoy your journey🤗

I interlock because my scalp itches a lot so I need to wash more often... it was fine for me , too...."normal" palm rolling comes undone when I shower or when I itch my scalp (shouldn't itch... but I do) compared to interlocking.. but I combed them out last week to start again

Heyyy, thank you so much for watching! As long as your hair is growing your locs have a chance to get thicker. Stretching your Retwists will definitely help and not putting too much tension in your hair. Good luck! I hope you enjoy every stage in your loc journey ❤️
Are you interlocking or palm rolling when you retwist? To get that round shape I palm roll, I have a video on my page with how I retwist my hair. Check it out and see. Thank you for watching!! ❤️

I have a video about that look up “common questions about my locs “ in my videos. I wait about 2-3 weeks after my Retwist before moisturizing every week. Wash every 2 months
Thank you so much for watching! I spray my hair about once a week. My hair holds moisture pretty good so I don’t have to spray as often. But for those who may not hold moisture that good maybe 2-3 times a week would help.
I thought I messed my locs up honestly cause they got really puffy after the first wash. It has gone down but they are still med thick and honestly I love it. My lines aren’t straight either at all but I love the not so perfect looking ones.
Hey, congrats on getting started. Wishing you the best on your journey. As for how long it will take to grow, that’s all based on the type of hair you have and what your doing to maintain it. I recommend taking pictures/videos of your hair every month. That’s the best way to see where your hair is starting to bud, get longer, etc.
@@SoFineee I recently got my phone stolen and I watch YT Videos on my system, so that's on hold now, lol. I do little or nothing to maintain em tho, I just spray em' with water and apply some moisturizer to it

Hi I have fuzzy hair, I only started my lock journey early march of 2022, the truth is I want my locks to be tick, but I think my fuzziness is becoz my father's generation is from Indian, do u have any advice for me?
Thank you for watching ❤️ Fuzziness will always happen so that’s normal. For the thickness I would recommend not retwisting so often. Wait maybe like 2 months or so to retwist. Everybody’s hair sheds, however when you have locs the hair that sheds doesn’t fall out of your hair, it goes into the locs. This could also help with thickness. So not manipulating your hair too much and don’t retwist too often. It may seem like you’re going freeform lol but it definitely helps with thickness.
@@SoFineee looks nice only thing i hate about 4c is when u gt a retswist then the shrinkage hits you except from that it's probably themost beautiful black hair texture
Hey, oiling your scalp will help my moisture and hair growth. Not manipulating your hair too much is what I recommend for thick locs. But definitely consistently oiling your hair will keep it healthy and grow fast.
@@yougotthis2800 no specific brand. I literally just went into my beauty supply store and bought any scarf that said it was either silk or satin material.

I got 33! Any advice to keep them thick please let me know. Not sure if I should twist monthly until they lock or what but I’m excited fr. First set I had was 9 years about 80 after I combined
Ooooh 33 niceeee, I would suggest retwisting every 2 months (8 weeks) if that’s too long for you try 6 weeks. Give your hair some time to grow and matte as they take form. Retwisting too often can thin your roots out.

I moisturize and oil my hair once a week.
What if you just got a fresh retwist Do you still follow that routine? Also how often do you wash/condition your dreads ?
I have a video about that look up “common questions about my locs “ in my videos. I wait about 2-3 weeks after my Retwist before moisturizing every week. Wash every 2 months
@@SoFineee okay appreciate it
@@jalenlawyer8165 anytime, of course!!!
love your loss are their inter locoing or just palm roll
Thank youuu 🫶🏽🫶🏽, they are palm rolled. I have never interlocked.
Thank you! I’m going to start my journey soon! Super helpful for the future!
Yesss, good luck and enjoy the journey!
You have beautiful locs. How often do u spray with water and vitamin E oil
Thank you so much for watching! I spray my hair about once a week. My hair holds moisture pretty good so I don’t have to spray as often. But for those who may not hold moisture that good maybe 2-3 times a week would help.
How many locs do u have in your head ?
I have 80 locs
I thought I messed my locs up honestly cause they got really puffy after the first wash. It has gone down but they are still med thick and honestly I love it. My lines aren’t straight either at all but I love the not so perfect looking ones.
Yup, Love your hair whether it messy or neat. Our hair is a part of us so we gotta accept all that comes with it ❤️
ur locs look sooo beautiful + healthy 😍.
Thank you soooo much ❤️
How many dread lock u got?
I have bout 80 locs.
My loc inspiration 😍 soooo pretty
Awwww thank you sooo much 🥰🥰🥰
Your hair is absolutely beautiful 😍
Thank you sooooo much 😊
I just started my loc journey and it's barely a month ma.
It's already looking all thick tho, so how long will it take to grow out?
Hey, congrats on getting started. Wishing you the best on your journey. As for how long it will take to grow, that’s all based on the type of hair you have and what your doing to maintain it. I recommend taking pictures/videos of your hair every month. That’s the best way to see where your hair is starting to bud, get longer, etc.
@@SoFineee I recently got my phone stolen and I watch YT Videos on my system, so that's on hold now, lol.
I do little or nothing to maintain em tho, I just spray em' with water and apply some moisturizer to it
So is that okay?
Or there's more I could do
@@peppletalks well you just started so literally what you’re doing is PERFECT. With locs you really don’t have to do too much and that’s why I love having them. Trust me less is more. Your hair will be flourishing is no time!
@@peppletalks I think you’re on the right track, just keep moisturizing and spraying with water. As often as possible to create a good foundation for your locs to grow on
Hi I have fuzzy hair, I only started my lock journey early march of 2022, the truth is I want my locks to be tick, but I think my fuzziness is becoz my father's generation is from Indian, do u have any advice for me?
Thank you for watching ❤️ Fuzziness will always happen so that’s normal. For the thickness I would recommend not retwisting so often. Wait maybe like 2 months or so to retwist. Everybody’s hair sheds, however when you have locs the hair that sheds doesn’t fall out of your hair, it goes into the locs. This could also help with thickness. So not manipulating your hair too much and don’t retwist too often. It may seem like you’re going freeform lol but it definitely helps with thickness.
@@SoFineee im almost 2 months on my locs ian retwist im going freeform i might wait a while to retwist
Where did you get your scarf from?
It’s a regular silk/satin scarf from my local beauty supply store
Can we still get the hairstyles if it’s not tight
Yes, if your able to tolerate it and it isn’t pulling your hair too tightly, styles are fine to do.
@@SoFineee appreciate the reply
Hey!!! How did you start your locks was it 2 strand twists, coils, or braids?
Thank you for watching 😊. I started my hair in coils. I didn’t want the pattern from braids or 2 strand twist to stay in my hair.
@@SoFineee I started with 2 strands n the pattern is gone
Oooh niceeee
Beautiful and thick locs 🖤🖤
Thank youuuuu
do u have 4c texture ur hair super thick looks exactly like my texture
Yes, I have 4c hair texture
@@SoFineee looks nice only thing i hate about 4c is when u gt a retswist then the shrinkage hits you except from that it's probably themost beautiful black hair texture
@@Kcft03 lol I agree the shrinkage is reallllll, but yeah I still appreciate my texture and the fact that I have locs makes it easier to manage.
Can you start doing this after two years of locs
Yea I believe you still can. It’s never too late. Your hair will grow in so much thicker!
High can oiling work if concistent use
Hey, oiling your scalp will help my moisture and hair growth. Not manipulating your hair too much is what I recommend for thick locs. But definitely consistently oiling your hair will keep it healthy and grow fast.
@@SoFineee 🙏 thanks
Thanks for the tips 🙏🏽 are you from the Caribbean ?
Your welcome, thank you for watching! And yes, I am Haitian
@@SoFineee oh that’s awesome ☺️ u got Caribbean girl that look 🤌🏽
I’m Guyanese (not that it matters) lol 🤷🏽♂️
All Caribbean people are one ❤️
What kind of scarf is that
I use any silk/satin scarf for my hair
@@SoFineee what brand are you wearing here
@@yougotthis2800 no specific brand. I literally just went into my beauty supply store and bought any scarf that said it was either silk or satin material.
It looks nice. I'm gonna find something similar because I wear satin lined turbans, but with it being summer, the material and my whole head being covered be like my hair need to breathe. Thanks for responding ❤️
That cold air is no joke 🥶. I just moved from tropical to freezing climate. I been wrappin mines mor n mor lately
Yupppp. The only time I wear my hair out is if I’m leaving my house. Other than that my bonnet never comes off 😂😂😂
How many locs do you have
I have about 80 Locs in total
Great video. Definitely had to subscribe.
Thank you sooooo much ❤️
These are great tips. However, there’s also the fact that some people already have higher density hair than others to begin with.
Yes this definitely true
How many locs do you have?? I am actually curious!!
Hi, thanks for watching! I have 80 locs, I also have a video speaking about my loc count. Go check it out!
Will do, keep up sis you got this!!

I actually use a very heavy and thick oil lol. I use Haitian castor oil.
Your Locs🔥💪🏽And Thanks For The Tips 🔒
No problem! And thank you so much for watching ❤️
Can you do a Retwist video please?
I actually have a video showing how I retwist. On my channel look under My Hair Journey. It’s called “My Updated Retwist Routine”
Okay, thank you so much
Nice locs how often do you wash them?🔥
Thank you ❤️. I wash and retwist my hair every 8 weeks (2 months)
I’m 4 months into my journey. My locs be looking mad crazy atm lol
Girl trust me it gets betterrrrrrr! The beginning is ALWAYS rough 😂😂😂
How many loc u have ?
I have about 80 locs.
Your locs look beautiful. What do you use to twist your hair with? I just started my journey 3 weeks ago. Thank you.
I only use water and castor oil. I have a video showing how I retwist my hair. Check out my Hair Journey videos!!
@Chloe Great I use castor oil
@@SoFineee thank you so much. Should I still wash and just wear a cap so they don’t unravel in between? Just started Sunday lol
@@lmao9179yes, that will def help to minimize the unraveling.
How many locs are you having?
I have 80 locs
Thanks for the infor .. u really have nice locks ... i live in Australia and its really hot , any tips?
Thank you for watching ❤️
2 of my quick tips is the keep your hair up and off your neck and of course to drink a lot of water. I have a lot more in a video on my channel titled “Loc Tips for the Summer Time” I go more into detail there.
