    CUTE STYLE!!🤎 Thanks for sharing, you are def on to something here!! I'm a year into my locs, maybe the parting is what's knows as "traditional" medium sized locs. I maintenance through interlocking, works really well for me (gym and sports active). I'm all about that less is more let it "do what it do" life. 3-4 retightenings a year is the goal with it maybe even getting to fewer. I like the full look, fro @ the roots, not the visible parts, scalp-showing look. I'll let the maturity of my locs guide how few retightenings I can do. While I appreciate the availability of online resources, there are certainly overly complicated "rules" out there.

      @@youheard4052 thank you!! I was the same way with my interlocs. By year 3 I was retightening only 2x a year. I think interlocking is amazing for people who are very active. And yes I agree! I enjoy researching and learning from others but it all just comes down to what’s best for you bc really there are no rules

    I love this. Its been hard not washing my hair until time for retwist so i quit that process because my texture is so soft. ..like cotton that it unravels and feels like a waste of $125. I keep them clean and moisturized by misting with alkalized water glycerin and pure aloe gel

    If I don't do a light retwist (like turning the root) my hair will grow out and the end will loc and the root will be open :/ So I guess I do a very gentle retwist

    • @isisrises
      @isisrises  27 днів тому +1

      @@2joie thanks for watching! Do you think your roots would loc eventually even if it took like 8 months to a year lol? Locs usually loc at the ends and middles first leaving the roots loose. My roots don’t loc up. I usually have about 1-2 inches of hair that hasn’t locd up yet, but my hair strands tend to stick together easily so they don’t grow outside my locs much. Since your hair grows outside your locs it makes sense how doing a gentle retwist helps your loose hairs stay together. Thanks for sharing your experience too! 😊

      @@isisrises I am on my second set of locs. This time I started them with two strand twist and I think this method works better for my hair. I have noticed that the roots stay twisted better even though they are not locked yet. I should probably wash very gently in order to keep them in tact. Thanks for the information

    Hey queen I love the thickness of your locs. Please, I'm considering interlocking... I will like to know if interlocking will stop my hair from thickening over time or I should stick to retwisting? I just started mine and I have 66. Any suitable guidance will be deeply appreciated.

    Hey Love, how would you have navigated semi free forming with your first set? We have similar textures ( I think ?) medium/normal density, fine strands, kinda spongy etc. but I have smaller locs. I tried semi free forming back in the spring and I think I was getting breakage around the roots that gives the allusion of growing away from the loc (but really it was just hairs breaking). I’m considering combing to make them thinker to combat this, but I still need to learn to crochet lol

    • @isisrises
      @isisrises  Місяць тому

      @@queenali91 Hey 👋🏼 it’s hard to say but depending on how small your locs are it could be beneficial to combine. In the last year with my first set I kind of did semi free-form bc I only retightened 2x. I would just separate my roots at least once every 2 weeks. I didn’t do anything much different than I do now honestly
