Hey girl, can you do a video on naturally thin hair, I haven’t loc’d my hair yet and I’ve been considering it. However to achieve the size she has (pencil size) I would only be able to do about 15 locs as my hair strands are thin and my hair it self isn’t thick either.

I'm a teacher with locs, 5 years in. Thick and disrespectful! I have a Master's in Early Childhood Education..went on every interview with my beautiful locs. Every student I've ever taught or come across has been in love with my hair and say they wish theirs was like mine. Fuck "professionalism" it's a made up construct!🤟🏽😝

I'm Licensed Clinical Social Worker and work for local government. I started my first set of locs 20 years ago and I've always had "professional" jobs. I even rock headwraps.... Never had an issue. Thank you Yannie for sharing - my locs are thin and long ( just to my bum) & yes, they have popped. I’ve always loved my locs and yes, I’ve doubles and triplets too 🥰 All what u explain about pulling, tension in the locs.... that’s what the twisters have done over the years and they quick to style too much 😠 (I’m not calling them loctitians as they’re unable to educate their clients as you do) and it’s so sad as I couldn’t or didn’t even try to retwist myself, I’m a Business Support Officer, I had money and so I just kept rebooking over the years - softly killing my crown and filling their pockets.... anyway, this lockdown, I’ve done what you advised and left the new growth alone and really happy to say the Jamaican black castor oil agrees with my hair and my 17yr old whose never done my hair washed with me and retwisted and now I’m seeing some growth again where there was no hair growth whatsoever! It’s slow, steady growth and what I’ve learnt is ‘patience’ is key 🙏🏾 I really wish I could thicken all of mines but it’s too late however, I no longer put too much strain on my locs so, I hope with extra tlc, they’ll strengthen YOUR ADVICE - THANK YOU, I WISH WE WERE IN THE SAME COUNTRY I WOULD DEFINITELY BOOK AN APPT COS I KNOW MY HAIR NEEDS YANNIISM 😂 🤷🏾‍♀️ Love to you & Jimmy from the UK 🇬🇧

I had a government contracting job with my locks where I present it every Monday in front of many people virtual and live orientation. And now I work in the health field as a clinical technician and I still have my locks. I am able to help care for the patients who have locks because others don’t know what to do with their hair. I help patients feel loved as I tend to their hair. I have a skill that no one else has at my job and that is the ability to re-twist locks. The patients feel so much better when their hair is done

I love her locs. I started my locs from watching Yannie. I started Sept. 2018 by way of 2 strand twist and my locs were thin, if you could see them now. WOW!!! Less is more...they are thick and healthy, never lost a loc, I actually started 3 additional locs. I am a Medical Business Analyst, my hair was loc'd about 1 year after I was hired and I will always have my locs, rocking them proudly. Blessings to all my loc Kings & Queens❤❤❤

I am a registered nurse of 20 years. I’ve been loose natural for 9 years, and recently locked my hair 9 months ago. I love my hair and ALL locs; traditional, freeform, microloc, etc. They are all beautiful and unique to the individual.

I love this. One of the reasons I started my locs is because I want to break the stereotype that ppl spread about locs, besides the roots of locs... but I always hated people saying locs are dirty or someone with locs must be a thug or in some illegal stuff... even since i was a teenager. But I'm almost 2 months in and loving it.
Kris McDred is the first one I heard talking about the same topic and that made me decide that I am getting them.

Yanni, I just love you and your videos! I've had my locs for nearly 4 years. They are rude, disrespectful, and downright rebellious! I love them! My only problem is "Hand-in-hair-itis" Keep on doing what you're doing! The only thing I put on my locs is rosewater and vitamin E oil. I also am very cautious about letting folks I don't know touching my hair. I was in the grocery store and this lady was looking at me smiling...I mean-mugged her and she went on bout her business! One day I hope to meet you in person. Peace & Blessings to you and Jimmy!

My husband and I both have locs. I work in an academic library, and he works in banking. I started mine after being here a few years, but he'd been locked up 2-3 years with a huge beard when he was hired.
