Love thick locs and the "messy" look is very bohemian and gorgeous. Mine are the same way and I love it. It's thick, healthy and lovely.
I love this vibe as well… that’s how mine are shaping up… initially I
(first 4 months) I manipulated them often because 3bc curly hair, contrary to popular belief, crawls out of the coil if you breathe on it🤦🏾…
Just got loc'd today!!!! I'm excited! Praying this goes well. Oh the sweet freedom I feel!!!! Hey loc family!!!
Monique Brown just loc’d today!!!!!!!
Monique Brown hows ur loc journey going?? 😍😍
Journey update??
@@shereshamarks4517 isn't it exciting. I'm definitely going through the ugly awkward phase right now. Learning do's and don'ts as well 😩❤
How is your loc journey going?
@@Victoriawhy never noticed the comments until today. It's going well, definitely noticeable growth happening!! 😩🙏🏾🙌🏾
I am almost 3 months in and everything you said in this video I have been doing. I love the unkempt look, the frizz, the thickness my hair gives without retwisting. I never wanted “neat” locs I’m embracing what my hair does naturally. I guess you can say I’m semi freeform. But I absolutely loooooove it! There’s no “ugly stage” for me it’s all beautiful 💜✨
Thick locs, means healthy hair. I hate when other people tell me to clean up my hair. I promote the Afro for more support, leaving less stress on my scalp. I stopped using products, I just wash my hair with coconut oil and use Indian hemp, sometimes. Peace, power!
Hi there 😊. Can you please explain how you wash your hair with coconut oil? I use it to moisturize my scalp, but I didn't realize you can wash your hair with it.

this isn't just a loc video. it's a health video for you hair and the rest of you. dope.
Your locs are the truth! Thank you for the information. It was extremely helpful because I'm about to get ready to start my locs. Keep the videos coming!
Loved the water spraying tip for moisture. I thought that I was the only one who didn't like wearing my dreads styled, lol. Been locked for 27 years and have worn them just straight down, ALWAYS. They had reached past my waist, but at some point and I realized that the weight was thinning my roots and it didn't help that thinning hair as you age runs in my mom's side of the family, so now I keep them cut and just brushing my shoulders. Thanks!
Thank you for the tips. I'm two weeks in my locs journey, and these amazing tips will definitely help me on my journey. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge on locs. You're the best. Please continue bringing these great tips for us. Take care.💕🙌🏿💕
Glad I found this channel. My son has locs as thick as yours, and I wanted them to be tighter, but I learned to embrace the thickness. I retwist his new growth only and embrace the frizz .
You're locs are beautiful sis! I started on my loc journey in May of this year and I'm loving the journey! Trying to get my front to stay but for the most part so far so good. I was using Eco gel at first. I did my own retwist today and used the Murray Loc Lock gel. Thanks for your advice!!
Today is my 4 week "lociversary" and I have been watching all your videos, some more than once ☺️you're such and inspiration! Love your locs!
Embrace the frizz! Very informative tips. Notes taken.
Great tips! Thank you very much. I was retwisting my loc every 5 wks but after these tips I will embrace my freeze and retwist every 3 months. I love your locs 😊 want to have thicker locs.
Thanks for the tips! Your locs are beautiful! My locs are are finally starting to thicken, so I am loving them even more! Yayy!
Simply beautiful Queen !!! I will be on my journey 6 month's on April 17, 2020. I'm loving it all especially my frizzy. The knowledge that you are sharing I basically do. I did a lot of research as well as watched a many many videos before I started my journey and I knew exactly what I wanted and all the do's & don't kmsl. Yessss I’m so glad I came to your video! I’m learning so much💕💕 I currently just started my second set of locs🌱 and I want to semi freeform.
I absolutely loved this video an all of your other videos, I'm on my second set of dreads did them myself as I've bin working whit dreads since 2015 an actually allot of what you've said is also what I've bin telling my clients.... especially about embracing the frizz am not to use products that create buildup an not to twist them to much...this video was very helpful
Thank you for your tips! Began mine in August 2016 and all those tips speak to me!! :) greatly appreciated!
Lovin' the dark hair on you! Your locs are looking gorgeous, as always 💕🌸
Thank you so much beautiful:)
Giiiirl You're Saving Lives 🤔 Lol . (( starter locs 🙋 )) I Needed This
Stoney Hendrixx absolutely correct 🙌🏽 I was thinking about cutting my locs but my daughter hates the idea. She loves my hair more than I do lol... I love my locs but am tired of retwisting. So now looking at this video has changed my mind. That’s all I needed ❤️
Me too✋I started Mar.20, so like 6 weeks. I have retwisted 1x so far, now I know not to palm roll all the way down. I want thick locs. Good luck on your journey.

JoyceMD haha! You always make me smile! ☺ lol. Thanks sis! I remember watching your video about color. Do you think you would ever take the plunge in the future? Possibly? You don't need by any means...just asking 😏 lol.
Natural Nirvana I think I mess up when I get it interlock
JoyceMD awwww I follow both of you and love both of y’all Locs equally!❤️❤️❤️
you are such a wealth of positive information. I am enjoying watching your videos!! THANK YOU so much!!
Aww, yay!! So glad to hear that! Thank you for watching and commenting:)
Thanks for the info. I finally decided to start my loc journey.
You made some good points.. Especially about using natural or less products on the locs. I've had locs for 16 years now. I am 5.2 and my hair is over 4 feet long. And I manage my locs myself. I never like the freeze bc I like for my hair to look very neat. So yes I did the wrap around/ coil the remaining strands and it does create some bumps on some strands. But eventually I think that I'll trim for remanagement and much thicker locs.
Your locs are beautiful 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾I love❤️ thick locs good tips thank you for sharing sis. 👍🏾My locs are becoming thicker since I stopped retwisting as often I'm embracing my roots! 😉❤️🙏🏾
Tomorrow marks my 2nd week with my dreads I have a fine hair texture and not gonna lie I learned a lot from your journey so far and i really can't wait till they loc I appreciate your videos 💯❤

DeAndrea Reese You are so welcome beautiful! Congratulations on reaching 6 months! That's awesome 😊. I'm sure your locs will blossom beautifully whichever road you decide to take😊.
Natural Nirvana Thank you 😊 I'm so glad I found your channel!
I love how you just leave your hair freely... they look so beautiful.
Your locks are beautiful! I'm going to lock my hair in a few months. I don't like the thin stiff lock look. Your hair looks soft and flexible. New subscriber here. I'm interested in learning as much as possible.
Had my dreads for 15-20 years and I always got my hair retwisted, styled n stayed under the dryer, but now I'm gonna wash n go,spray and no rubber bands!!! Thanks for the tips

Hello I love your locs so much I have been following ur journey since u started I am 9 months loc and I free style cause I see mines have thicken alot and I use the water alot many don't like the frizz but I love it alot I want to dye mines black on next retwist excited about that cause mines look dull but I have always felt if I dye them black it will make them look better so keep up the good work and continue to keep update on ur journey you are the only one person I follow I love you sister You have a blessed and wonderful day and always remember to put Christ first in everything you do
Felecia Brown Aww, thank you so much beautiful! God bless you! I truly appreciate the love and support. 💕
😍😍😍😍omg they are so beautiful!! U’re beautiful as well...they def fit u! 💜💜💜💜
You saved me from ending this journey.... not only was I about to end it....I was about to end being natural period....that's how over it I am.... we look to have the same texture and that's exactly how my beginners locs look now and how yours turned out is literally goals..
awesome break down on how our hair move or take shape VS us literally moving, modifying or adjusting by hand ourselves in attempt to assist locs
This was really good information I have been twisting my hair every 3 days I started my journey in September hopefully the minor damage I have done is repairable I do not go to stops
Love this girl, she's well spoken, straight to the point, no other noises in the background like music baby crying etc. Her hair is beautiful. Her info is well thought out simply beautiful. I am now a follower.
I also appreciate the fact that she has no music or noises in the background. She’s not making faces or acting silly and laughing like a lunatic. She’s an articulate and poised young lady.
You’re so natural! Loved your video! Do You!
Your gorgeous! And your hair is the looks I am going for . I started with larger parts thinking I’d get thicker locs . My hair is also light weight , I’ve got 42 locs started with shoulder length loose curl pattern . I’m just 4 months in . This clip is great I like the info about retwist . My loctition did a retwist it wasn’t tight which was good but the bobby pubs flattened my locs end my locs went from full to thin . They are thicker now. Glad people post their true experience and willing to share
Thank you and congrats on your loc journey and reaching 4 months!😊 Spritzing them with water and not retwisting the shaft should thicken them right back up:)
your hair is amazing. i have so much to look forward to
Great tips and great video sister!!! 👌🏾Stay Locd and stay blessed!!! ✊🏾🙏🏿One Love ✌🏾
Lasaan Jones Thank you bro! Stay loc'd and blessed as well😊.

TheSKYY Life Thank you gorgeous🤗
Dark hair looks so well on you! A sexy goth tease. Your Locs are thriving and your video is great! Thank You
Good Morning, Thank you for the tips on how to keep your locs thick. While I only re-twist every other month, I have a tendency to pull my locs back or up using an cloth covered elastic band. I have noticed they are thinning a bit so your video was very helpful. Your locs look healthy and lovely. Thanks Again - Peace & Blessings
Yes!! Thank You So Much!!! Empress!🌹❤️
I saw this video and started my loc journey the next sec. Ima join the army next year so I'm just tryna get my locks real quick.
Aww, yay! Congratulations on the start of your loc journey! Thank you for serving our country. God bless you.
Your hair is beautiful! I can't wait until my locs are your length.
This the best informative video I’ve seen, love it , I really wanna pay her for this video 🤣🤣for real…. Thanks a lot
Your locs are lovely, and thanks for sharing.
Hey Loc sis! your hair is beautiful ❤️. My sister's hair is about your length and I love the thickness!
Thank you Sis for sharing your advise. Your crown is beautiful! I let go of setting gels, & beeeez-wax. I only use a conditioner (Dr Miracles) on wash day. Natural oils like Black Seed Oil, Moorocan Oil, Jojoba Oil, are great & I massage my scalp. I Spray my Locs with water & I’m done. Yep, the Satin cap is a must! Enjoy motherhood & parenting wit da father. In these crazy times, plz stay safe & be well. ❣️😊🌸
You're inspiring me to start locs one day. Stay beautiful 😍👸
Alexis Ellison Aww, thank you beautiful 💕🤗 God bless you
I started my locs yesterday with comb coils. Thanks for the video. I hope mines get thicker.
This video was so helpful thank you for the tips.
I really like your vid. I knew all the things you are saying and you refreshed my memory! Well some things you said is new to me and I'm loving it 😊. I have a new loc client I'm starting tomorrow. I'd been doing the "technique" on one lady, but with products she was bringing. I let her have her way. She over took me. But she was a discounted client who I threw Black gel on her hair so she brought her own products 😐. Truth.
I wish I would of started my locs with comb coils instead of 2 stand twist, but I still embrace my locs... great advice for getting thicker locs.
Sweetheart looks lit😩 I just had to keep watching btw your voice is 💙. Charlotte nc
Great vid Queen!!!! And your tips definitely had me nodding yes the entire vid lol Embrace the frizzies is something I definitely enjoy 😅 like it a little better that way....I tried the other day to go without spraying my hair like I normally do and all I kept thinking was how much I wanted to use my spray bottle lol if I know anything about my Locs is that they love water, especially rainwater 🙌🏾 enjoyed the vid....keep it up 🔒🔒🙌🏾🙌🏾
DTFmyLocs lol! Yes, our locs love water! Thanks bro. 😊
Natural Nirvana no problem Sis!
I’m jus starting my locs Journey and I’m gonna take all your advice .
This helped so much just started my locs and didn’t exactly give an opinion on how I️ wanted them when starting
It's really amazing to me how similar our journey's are. I started in December of 2015, I used to spray my locs with water every day though ever since I started this rinse I don't have to do it as often. I semi-form and have thought about just never getting a retwist again. Oh I'm a vegetarian too! My spirit is guiding me towards veganism though. We're loc twins Angel. I'm just saying 😌
Aleigha Nicole Hey twin, hey!! Lol!!☺
Love your videos and your hair! I do get retwists every 2-3 weeks, and mine are still very similar to your (style/thickness). But then (like you mentioned), he only twists the roots and barely touch the bottoms. I really think it depends on your hair and your stylist. I know some people don't like retwisting regularly. But for my first year it's worked out well and hair is growing like a weed. I'll be moving to 3 week intervals once I move out of this job search phase.
Your last sentence, I feel you… especially if you have 3cb hair, it can look crazy disheveled in the early lock stages😂
The root is what you want to protect
girl your hair!!!! 😍😍😍
Your hair is so thick and healthy. I love it💕💓
Life Undocumented Thank you!
My name is Angel too! I’m about 2 weeks into my loc journey I’m so excited 🤗
Hey Angel!!! Lol. I rarely meet anyone with the same name, so that’s awesome ☺️. Congratulations beautiful! I’m excited for you!!
Natural Nirvana thank you 🤗 !
Thanks so much I will do this and you really help me out.
She is so fine💚
Blessings & great health to you
Your first locs were so small compared to them now. There is hope for me lol!
