I'm going to make a slightly controversial call and say that I think "No Glitch, No Shortcut" should be renamed to "In-Bounds" because although the record for it in Coconut Mall doesn't exploit any glitches as far as the mechanics of the game are concerned, I feel like it kind of defeats the purpose of what no glitch, no shortcut is supposed to be, which is just driving through the track normally.

Nah going out of bounds is most definitely a glitch it’s just CTGP hadn’t done the automatic detection yet

Thank you for this video, Troy. I'm honoured my run made the thumbnail, haha. I remember being so hype when 200cc came out, it was like a whole new game I could explore and find new strats for. It's a shame activity died down so quickly but it makes sense. That said, some of these records are actually quite good! You should definitely TT some of these on stream.

I love 200cc, it’s awesome that you‘re giving it the attention it deserves! Currently trying to improve on Rainbow Road, but it’s wayyyy harder than the WR makes it look, because this track is like a giant trampoline, especially on the S turn that he skips. And don’t get me started on the way he cuts the „halfpipe“ ramp.
Incredible Record he set there.
David Kerz a lot of these categories are extremely difficult, makes you wonder how much dedication and commitment goes into making these runs.

He literally said in one of the recent race to 9s episodes that he was looking into getting into one of the “Remember to like” pop ups. I think it’s good because a lot of people really do forget to like.

Wow, idk how I missed this. Thanks for uploading it! I played the Maple Treeway glitch on 200cc for a couple of weeks and that was the best I could do. The clip for the low cannon comes at you so fast on 200, so it's hard to get consistently. It's the biggest possible time save in the run for sure. Thanks for your kind words about my run!

14:50 The regular route is a shorter distance, but the “shortcut” has boost panels. Since 200cc speed is not as perfect in alignment with the boost panels, it could definitely be faster, even without the mini-turbo coming in.

Hot take: That isn't a no-glitch run on Coconut Mall. If you're driving out of bounds that much of the time, and pulling off those shenanigans, it's not a no-glitch run. That's at LEAST as glitchy as the Toad's Circuit run which uses the box clip and is considered to be a glitch category.

Hey all. I’m the one who had the Bowser Castle 200cc Ultra (3 Mushroom) WR. It was kind of tough, because I had to do the ultra no-stop (GT boss managed to do this first). And yes, It was pretty nerve wracking after I actually made it. I was being careful not to lose time after I pulled it off (why I was going wider than my first lap). I think it is possible to get a sub 1:30. But yeah, thanks for watching my run.

That's true. Maybe that would squeeze out a sub 1:29/1:28 if done fast enough. It depends on the cycle of the fire sticks at the last ramp though.
Also, you discovering bcwii ultra glitch no stop was genius. I didn't even know it was possible to do that. Nice job finding that btw.

I found a way to do the BCWii spiral skip, and skip the turn after that on 200cc. You do the regular shortcut, and then tilt back and try to get as much air as possible, while getting as close to the track as possible. If done correctly, your front tire should clip the floor from the bottom, and then clip up to the ramp at the end.
I’ve done it a few times when I was doing the track again. More often than not no matter how long you hold down on the stick for, if the launch angle is wrong, the wall will kill any and all speed you have. That shortcut is very cruel, and is the reason why only 3 of those records are faster than the no sc record. Records set for that category using only 1 of the 2 shortcuts is only barely faster than the no sc record. It’s as difficult to achieve a solid run without a loss of speed somewhere. :P
Yeah lol I realized to get enough air to make it to the other side without literally failing requires a ridiculous angle that requires you to keep as much forward momentum as possible. Oof. So this will probably never be done consistently RTA but the 2 months I was figuring it out were fun!

Dashing the Cube there will be a way to get consistent speed while doing the first cut, but until then, what you see is what you get. Lol
Would the first cut be quicker if you nose-dived instead of tail-diving? Maybe the ejection is just wrong, but maybe you could do it like the 150cc wr with a nose-dive. The physics are probably messed up though.

Troy, the reason GTBoss did the glitch lap 3 is because if he did it on lap 1 or 2 then he would have nerves driving the no glitch laps.

Dude when i was young, i thought the world records were put in by Nintendo as challenges, so I thought I was ass at Mario Kart when I tried to race one.

Thanks dude for the compliments on my dry dry ruins run! Haha I've already improved it quite a few times, and even though I had so many unlucky fast paced runs fails that I can't count them with only my fingers and toes, be sure a 1:15 with 3/3 wall glitch will come in the week !
But for a 1:14 though... would take someone better or some new strats because firstly the track is too inconsistent for getting close enough to bks and secondly my best splits (which I think are bks by quite a lot) only give a 1:15.1/1:15.2 with 3 glitches, I have yet to get a 24 seconds lap...
but it's possible, a human flawless run with those strats should go down to between 1:14.0 and 1:14.5 (I had a pace for a 24.8 lap 2)
And for a real mad man, shroomless lake cuts should be possible
Nevermind, I lowkey just got a 24.931 lap, but yeah that was with a lucky two column tricks

I just got another of these runs, with 25.3 lap 1 then 25.0 lap 2 then nice but not too good no glitch lap 3, potentially 25.8/9 so going for a very low 1:16... then zoop, just sticking to the sand on the final jump, going slowly with shame to the finish line, even with this I got .4 in front of your pb pfff
