It actually might be a viable strategy to go the left route every time you are in first because if the blue shell only takes the right route, you won't risk falling off into the cave from getting hit by the blueshell.

I've been playing Mario Kart Wii since 2009. All this time, I've almost always taken the top ramp on Coconut Mall. TODAY I learn that apparently "no one takes that route". Wow, this channel has taught me a lot about this game in just a couple weeks.
Ah, cool, I'm not alone on this then, I rarely ever took the bottom ramp and it's apparently the better route lmao
Some (hopefully creative) ideas I had:
1. You must count up all the ending times of each race in the GP; Fastest time at the end wins (this differs quite a bit from the point ranking!)
2. Use a physical spinning wheel with cards on it to determine some kind of negative punishment each race
3. Let dice rolls decide your vehicle combination (counts for both)
4. You must snipe each other at least thrice during the GP or you won't get the point at the end, even if you win the GP
5. Drive a (part of a) lap backwards at the start, then proceed
6. The one who finishes the first lap before the other must do something IRL (e.g. walk around the seat) before allowed to continue racing
7. The person with the least points wins
8. Every lap you must switch your controller to another one (e.g. gba to steering wheel)
9. Every time a shock is used you must drive a full circle in place
10. You must stop & wait when picking up an item box until you see which item it is
11. The person who got the most thunderclouds in the whole GP wins (there is a strategy to this, right...?)
12. You must fall off the track at least once/twice every race
Hope this helps to spark some creativity! :)
For number 4 it would be amazing if they did teams so the teammates would help set up the snipe
Must spam every item as soon as the roulette finishes
Only one race counts, but it’s determined by a random number generator AFTER all the races are finished

I fully agree with this. R29999 ended up becoming stale as far as I was concerned, but I am very much looking forward to this.

This looks like so much fun! I'm really looking forward to more. Race to 9s was fun, but i agree that it got repetitive. But this is certainly new and different and i can tell that you and Nick are having a lot of fun with it. Super excited! ^_^

Honestly, my favorite part is that no matter how badly Troy and Nick screw each over other, they’re always positive and quick to complement each other’s skills rather than get at each other’s throats.

Not allowed to hold the accelerate button while blooper'd
Must look backwards all of lap 1
Only allowed to use mushrooms midair
Only allowed to finish if you've used the shock
Must fail pow dodges
Not allowed to standstill mini turbo
Not allowed to trick
Playing on automatic
Points determined by who eats the most blueberry pie (1 slice of pie = one point)

This is far a pretty good and interesting series and not what I was expecting at all. I really want Troy to win but at the same time Troy you need to flounder cause it's your turn to wear the Funky Kong Outfit to feel the pain that Nick went through. Here's the tough question what if they don't have a Funky Kong outfit, then the next best thing is a Donkey Kong Outfit (I can only find Donkey Kong)???

For my idea i think you should have some special guests come on and then split them into teams Troy and Nick. At the end of the GP, whichever team has the highest amount of cumulative points gets the win for the respective team leader.
You don't need to use this idea but i thought it would be a good one.

You should do an 8 race GP where everyone is on the sprinter. That would be like an F1 or Indy race. Maybe add only Circuit courses to keep it true to racing
