Dude, if I could give this video multiple likes, I would. There have been only 2 tracks that I have struggled getting shroomless cuts down on: Yoshi's circut and mute city. After this video specifically calls out releasing the mini turbo early on mute city (much earlier than I ever was), I can now do both mute city and yoshi's circut! Thank you so much for this and all your other very helpful videos. It means a lot!
Congrats on getting it!! The mute city cut is so satisfying once you can get it consistently. I can never get the Yoshi circuit shroomless waterfall cut, if that's what you're talking about. (Well, about 10% of the time I get it)

Hey, shortcat! There are a couple more shortcuts that are of the same calliber as these that could be cool too include!
The shroomless grass cut for dYC is pretty similar to the cut in rMC and saves a good amount of time.
The beginning shroomless cut on rRRy is feels sick to land if you can do it consistently -- charge a SMT around the second right turn release into a hop over the grass and then trick on the boost panel.
And then -- this one is a little more technical -- right after gap cut on Mount Wario you can start a left drift off the first ramp in the cave and charge an UMT while taking a crazy tight line.
Those are some of my favorites that weren't included here, so thought i would mention them

Discovering the DK Summit Gap Jump back on the Wii instantly made it my favourite track, even though I ended up only being able to do the first half of it. Thanks for sharing all of these huge shortcuts!
For the mushroom gorge gap jump, you can also take the glider and swoop down as fast as you can and you can still get a good alignment

6:05 I’ve seen you do that one before, but I didn’t know if you needed DiddyBuggy levels of mini-turbo to get that mini-turbo trick. As a Luigi Inkstriker main, I’m now glad to know I can do it too
For your combo (and king boo), the most important things are to trick off the very right side of the first ramp, and do a left trick while facing slightly left. This gives you a better angle to charge your MT, and also the left trick is a counter trick so you won't turn as sharply when you drift!

Besides the gap jump, there is another short in Mushroom Gorge where you use a mushroom to boost to the left a bit after the starting line and there is a low mushroom that will bounce you up and onto the next mushroom

With the motion glider on Mario kart stadium im pretty sure you can do a slower shroomless variation with a ultra mini turbo

Do you think you could make an in depth vid like this teaching all of those shortcuts as well for mkw? It seems essential at the level I’m reaching but I don’t know the best way to practice or all of the details. A few of these tracks are almost identical on mkw

Finally I gave the Hyrule Curcuit one a practice and yeah, the fast one is hard, but there is still room, like you can skip the big part of the gras without needing the mini turbo trick out of the castle😅
One thing I've been noticing for while is you seem to hop over the boost panels before (at least some) cannons or glider sections, is it faster and/or help w alignment after the cannon, or is there no particular reason? Love your videos btw, always hyped to see new stuff from you and I rewatch your vids a lot :D
Yeah on some it is faster to do it that way. Makes the glider come out faster which saves a tiny bit of time. It's on the so called cannon gliders I believe.

The final Mario kart stadium cut can be done shroomless every time. I hold my drift longer so that I’m boosting off the ramp and just hug the line of the wall as you go around and you can land in a drift if you do it right. I also play with tilt controls always on though

Instead of using the GameCube controller, I use another controller that also doesn’t have a motion sensor and it does the same job. I bought Mario kart on my switch and then forgot about it but after I started watching your vids I picked up the game again. Keep it going you are my fav content creator rn.🎉🎉

The closer you are to the snowman, the more likely you'll have success at the Snow Land cut.
The bad thing about the DK Summit (a.k.a. Jank Jank Summit) cut is that it skips the only fun part of the track. It literally comes right as the fun's about to begin, and if done successfully, you're landing at the exact point where the fun by going around comes to an end. 💔
It's faster, so I understand why it's needed for competitive play, but since I have more fun by taking the "slow" route, it's a good thing I *don't* play competitive.
The big cut at Rock Rock Mountain is highly risky without a ⭐ (or Father Boo). Lightning can strand unprotected players in the middle of the grass, killing all momentum and turning a race from glorious grand theft into extreme frustration.
Technically, Hyrule Circuit is still a DLC course. It's just DLC on the Wii U, which became one of the base 48 courses on the Switch.
At Mount Wario, is it faster to take the cut as sharp as possible, or is it faster to aim for the trickable surface and mini turbo trick to clear the cut?
I love the air hops at Waluigi Stadium, but I definitely need to practice to get better at actually doing them myself. *WAH!*
It's ridiculous and hilarious how two Gold Mushrooms turn the entirety of Cheese Land into one giant shortcut. 🤣
