    I just completed a drive belt change on my LT1550 tonight. Thanks to your video I knew to pull the PTO and the deck. It went easy as it a Arizona mower (No rust or corrosion.) Even cleaned out the mower deck and balanced it side for side. It liked to lean right side down.

    If anyone was wondering what happened when he tried to start it after the repair (like I was because I had clicks instead of starting too), a good cleaning of the battery terminals cured that issue. Thanks for the video, it helped me replace mine today and I'm the proud new owner of an impact wrench which made this job pretty easy.

    Great video. You can access the fan by removing the battery and lifting out the battery compartment.

    Your video was helpful. I had to tip the mower up on its rear wheels and vice grip the plate on the 5/8” nut while I hit a socket wrench on the bolt to break it free. It was a bugger!

    Thanks so much for the video. You answered a couple of big questions that I had, like how I was going to hold the hydro pulley in place. Your video helped my own belt and fan replacement go alot smoother

    If you pull the battery and battery pan, this will.give you better access to the bolt on the pulley and to route the new belt. Good video though. Thanks.

    Thanks for video. This provided a lot of perspective to what I needed to do.
    A neat trick to get the PTO pulley off is to remove a spark plug and stuff the cylinder with a rope to sieze the crank shaft.
    Also, my drive pulley was super stuck and I bent the flange while prying it off.

      Good tip, thank you. And yeah, when those pulley seize onto the crankshaft, it's a nightmare to get them off.

    Instead of doing all the hard work there are 4 bolts you can loosen the motor...I just done this today...just raise your motor up on the driver side after it is loosened align you drive belt on pulley of motor then feed going to transmission...

    Should have got a Dewalt impact, lol Clay . I think the impact would work on the transaxle nut also and an easy fix by taking seat, battery box and the fenders off. Then you can get the idler pulleys off to change bearings. Mine were really noisy.

    Very nice how to, I like it.I've done this job myself and would suggest that it's possible to overtighten the bolt holding the PTO on, especially when using an impact wrench, if one just 'uggaduggas' the bolt with a 1/2" impact you can FUBAR/distort the PTO,breaking it and that is a $100 item, at least. Borrow a torque wrench if you don't have one and tighten to approx 50-55 ft lbs.Oh, and apply anti-seize to the shaft so the next removal of the PTO & engine pulley goes smoothly

    Mine just did the exact same thing. Probably going to go in from up top or through the battery port when the parts come in.

    "Almost" would have been easier to remove the Rear Body to access the Fan...🤔
    Just 6-8 Bolts, & ALOT more room!
    Take care,

    to lock the pulley so you can use a breaker bar can you use a vise grips on the rim of the pulley then rotate it until it hits the frame/suspension?

    I'm having a problem with my PTO on my 23 horse Cub cadet bypass the switch the PTO work and mow for about 5 minutes then quit then I have to shut them over down and do it all over again and it'll run for about another 5 minutes and then the mower deck will shut down the rest of the mower will run fine

      Check the battery. You must have a fully charged strong battery for an electric PTO. Even if the engine is running, you still need a strong fully charged battery. Engine off, the battery voltage should be 12.5-12.7 volts. Less than that, and it might be on its way out....

    I am confused why my clutch is not coming off? Also, I was able to take the bolt off the clutch with a socket wrench…. No impact and I did not have to hold the flywheel either. The clutch is not budging at all. Help please. My grass is growing quick. Lol

    • @Buckwsr
      @Buckwsr  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Mark...I'm wondering if the electric PTO clutch is frozen (siezed) onto the crankshaft? Apply some PBblaster or other penetrating oil generously and let it sit overnight. Also some gentle tapping with a hammer....just don't go nuts on it. Good luck.

      I just came across a video where someone unbolted the engine without even taking off the clutch. The belt went right on. I’ve sprayed some PB blast on the clutch, but I might look into that other way as well. Thank you

    Maybe I should just not say anything, I don't want to sound like these people, who seem to watch other folks videos just to try and rip them apart. That's not me, i promise. But you labeled this video, How to replace the ground drive belt and transmission hydro fan on a cub cadet lawn tractor. All you showed was how to remove a bolt and drop the pto clutch. Then use a hammer to remove the drive pulley, and here it is done.how to video, I don't think so.

      I understand your point. But I do recall mentioning the difficulty in filming all the steps in live action, as it's tough to lay on the ground with a camera in one hand, when you really do need to use both hands while working in confined spaces. I would still like to think that if you need to replace the drive belt on your tractor, this video would be of some help to you before tackling the project.

    • @Redneck_Ed
      @Redneck_Ed 3 роки тому

      I see your point, but the those two steps are the big ones. Everything else is nothing more than routing the belt around pulleys and even with the most perfect video, you really need to jut follow the belt routing diagram in your manual to get it on there properly. This is a solid video. My issue with the video is that I'm mad that his drive pulley came off so easily, haha. I have videos of my LT1018 for drive belt and engine replacement and that damn pulley was on there tight. Even with the engine completely off when I replaced the engine and using a pry bar, I couldn't get the pulley to move.
