The band "Heart" does a tribute to this at Kennedy Center, a famous performance. Ann Wilson is the only woman (or person) powerful enough to pull it off.
Don't worry about "specific" meanings of the lyrics because they were intentionally ambiguous so, therefore, the "meaning" you're reading is just one person's interpretation. Just listen to it and figure out what it means to you. That is the beauty of art; it will have the meaning YOU place on it.
My darling, I believe you have been under a rock (lol, you know I love you). Rock and Roll was dead, until Zep burst onto the scene and ruled the decade. Best performances are live at MSG, "Since I been Loving You". Jaw dropping.
My all-time favorite Led Zeppelin classic. Never will get old.💯🌹✅ Essential request MotherPop @Casey Brown 👏🏾👏🏾✨✨❤️ Honest, deliberately respectful, and thoughtful reaction Sir Jammin’.
This is widely considered the greatest rock song of all time. I've just listened to it again for the hundred thousandth time and I see no reason to change my mind...IT IS. Peace and Love :)
On the bit humorous side, the source of endless guitar jokes is the "No Stairway To Heaven" in the guitar store. The opening on acoustic guitar is as notorious for beginner level player to try as is the electric guitar riff for "Smoke On The Water" by Deep Purple. :) The Stairway joke has been immortalised in the film "Wayne's World", complete with the sign. :) If you listen the song "Tangerine" from the album III, it has same kind of elements in it already. "Stairway" has been a subject for a long process in court for alleged copying and thus copyright infringement. It was finally laid to rest in 2020 with statement that the song was not a copy but original work by Jimmy Page and Robert Plant. If someone wants some more information, please check out the video "Did Led Zeppelin Steal Stairway To Heaven ?" It features former Triumph guitarist being interviewed, Rik Emmett who gives some examples over the subject and other specialists on the matter. Uh, sorry for the rant !
OMG! This was always the last song at every high school dance in the mid 70s! And I still get high and listen to Zep today. Thanks JJ, you never disappoint! #justjammin
That is hands-down not even close the single biggest rock song of the entire 1970s it’s number one on every countdown list that’s ever been done it was people‘s prom songs every one in the world knows that song it is absolutely incredibly famous and an absolutely brilliant piece of songwriting as well as performed unbelievably well. While it is fresh in your mind you should react to the group heart singing this song at the Kennedy Center honors while Led Zeppelin themselves as much older people sit there in the balcony and watch heart perform this to them and for them and Barack and Michelle Obama of the hair as well many people regarded as the greatest tribute song ever done for anybody
It's so funny you mentioned the time because I was sitting hear thinking it went fast and I had that thought for the exact reason. I love the song and have been listening to it for over 35 years and I still don't know what it means but I love it.
Great reaction! This is probably one of the best musical arrangements in rock history. The song can have many meanings, or you can make your own meaning, for me, it's a metaphor for life. "When all are one, and one is all", sounds similar to what spiritualist call oneness. Have a great day, Peace!
Glad to see you discovering LED Zeppelin BUT I wish you had done the live performance of this song from the Madison Square Garden concert. Try Whole Lotta Love from the Madison Square Garden concert next !
Ethereal? Dreamy? Are those words that might be close to the one you were searching for to describe it? It’s definitely a great song. You helped me really appreciate and enjoy it ! I’ve heard it so many times from it being a radio hit in the 70’s and after, that I usually just tune it out when I hear it. So thank you, and MP! Another great reaction!
I had a chance to see their legendary performance at Madison Square Garden, but I was mostly into R&B in the 70s and turned down the tickets.😳 (My friend won tickets from a radio station contest.). Fast forward…it was just a few years ago that I saw that MSG concert showcased in the movie Song Remains the Same and came to deeply regret not going to that concert that night! Seeing them live at MSG was THE Zeppelin performance to see. Unbelievable guitar by Jimmy Page, Bonham on drums. Just WOW.
When seeing you react to this song - 50 years later - "it makes ME wonder" isn't this a very odd and strange one! In those days there was so much experiments and styles and new sounds. But today this song is still different! Iconic or not. Did you react to Frank Zappa yet?
Ok now that you've heard the original you should check out the tribute to LED zeppelin from the Kennedy center honors from 2012 the group heart does this in front of the remaining members of zeppelin for the honors.......... you'll see Obama in the audience.........the lead singer Robert plant told Ann Wilson lead singer of heart that he doesn't like it when other people sing this song but he really liked it ✌️
This song is a song of metaphors. It's about the road to redemption and the ultimate prize of salvation. The sign on the wall is "FAITH" the two meanings are her name and the ACT of having faith. The reference to gold is the streets of heaven being paved with gold. Having two paths is a reference to good and evil or more specifically, Heaven or hell. The Piper is God/Jesus, you get the gist of it. If you listen to this song from a spiritual standpoint it all makes sense. Great reaction!
Why some people don't react to the live version? It's easy, watch other reactioners videos 30 seconds and thats all to select the correct vídeo to react --.--
If you can 'see what it means', you are doing better than Robert Plant who wrote the lyrics. He can't recall what it meant when he wrote it and said the words just seemed to come to him and it's a song that's open for people to interpret as they wish. He also called it 'a song of hope'. To me it's a song about not letting materialism dominate your life and distort the real you to the point of illusion, however tempting it might be. There are other more important things in life.
I was born under the rock in which my parents didn't play any other type of music in my household besides gospel. But I managed to occasionally hear some MJ from time to time.
Yes, The Five Stair Steps. All brothers and one sister (family). My fav is Danger! She's a Stranger. Don't Waste Your Time, World of Fantasy. I had their debut album and listened to it incessantly. Anyway, this Stairway to Heaven is a classic Zeppelin song and boy did we blast it on the radio when it came on!!

A masterpiece. I consider it the 2nd greatest song in Rock history, behind only another Zeppelin masterpiece, "Kashmir". Thanks for the reaction!
😎🎸💯
I'm not much of a rock fan, but I have always loved Led Zeppelin.. They are so awesome.
This is another record I've been listening to since it came out. It'll never grow old 👏🏿👍🏿👌🏿💯
To most this is the #1 rock song of all time.

Yes it was, this was the theme to my high school prom in 1976. Led Head forever!
One of my favorites by them ❤️❤️❤️
Something about this song gets me every time. It's timeless

Absolutely don't miss watching the Kennedy Center Honors by Heart 💜 Amazing!
Make sure it's the unedited version, or as unedited as it gets.
Please check out Heart at the Kennedy Center Tribute..made them tear up. And the drummer is the original drummer's son..Outstanding!

What an absolutely beautiful song!
This song was the #1 most requested song on radio airplay stations for 12 years in a row .
My favorite Led Zepplin since I first heard it! Fabulous request and emersed reaction. 🎶🎶🎸🎶🎶

I've done one of his songs.
Try Led Zeppelin's "Rain Song," or "Ten Years Gone."
this is not a song, its a musical journey
My favourite Led Zepplin song.A must learn for all guitar players but don't play it in a guitar store or you might get kicked out! Lol.🎶🎸👍
Another great storyteller that must be listened to is Arlo Guthrie check out Alice's restaurant.
Classic!!
Have you reacted to Kashmir? That & Dazed & Confused are also great Led Zeppelin songs

People don't realize a lot of Rock and Metal lyrics are written very poetic, or like a sonnet.

Hey man : your a little on the thick side

Not really a unique song for this group. They had several truly epic songs, but this is likely the fan favorite.
BS….. that’s not your first time hearing stairway to heaven…. What rock were you born under!!!!!?
Get outa here!!!!
hes 24 and grew up on Rap!
Wow!!! You see this what I don't like. Stop the negativity please. 20 year olds may not know our era of music .....................
Criticism is the sign of a closed mind especially when it is not constructive.
