I just got my crested gecko today And i wanna know how many times i feed him? Or i would like to know where you got your information about how often you should feed them Mine is like 5 months old btw
I feed my gecko every 2 days. Before I got my gecko I did a bunch of research mostly reading articles written by long time created gecko keepers and watching youtube videos and I found that most people recommend to feed your gecko every other day so that’s just what I do. I found Taylor Nicole Dean’s and Emzotic’s UA-cam channel to be quite helpful.
i use a 1/4 vinegar , 3/4 water solution to clean my glass, comes out clear everytime :) you can scrape really stubborn watermarks off with a knife or razor. i tried lemon juice and water but it left marks i didn't like, will definitely try baking soda! also, if ur spot cleaning i recommend a toothbrush, helps a lot
I had a quick question, I have a baby crested gecko and he really isn’t into his Pangea, he does eat it but he doesn’t rly like it. Have any suggestions to help with that? Btw your create sgecko is so cute!!
At first my crested geckos was the same, he didn't like Pangea. So I recommend experimenting with more flavours maybe your gecko doesn't like a specific fruit (for example mine doesn't like mango). If your gecko still doesn't like it, try other brands like Repashy or foods that have a mix of fruit and insects. Experiment and get know what fruits your gecko doesn't like. Also very important to mix it up so your gecko doesn't get bored. My gecko is really picky and gets bored really quickly so I always have at least two flavours of food to alternate between. But first step is just to go buy a different flavour of food and see if your gecko likes that better hope this helps:)
my gecko was only eating crickets when he was given to me by a friend, so i dipped the crickets in pangea and he would get used to the flavor and now he pretty much only eats pangea with worms or crickets a few times a week :)
Do you think that, if the tank is bioactive enough, the 6-10 week marker can be extended? I want to get a crested gecko, and I need all the info I can get
I don’t know much about bioactive setups but I’m pretty sure in a bioactive setup the clean up crew will clean the tank for you, you just have to spot clean every once in a while. But I’m not sure so definitely do your own research, the UA-cam channel Leopard Gecko Talk has some great videos!
I have some questions. Do you have to wash your hands before doing it? How do you spot clean it? How do you feed it? And how many gallons is your tank?
Yes, you should always wash your hands before handling your animal and for cleaning the tank, you can also wear gloves. When I say spot clean I mean cleaning the water dish and giving fresh water daily, also if you see any poop just getting rid of it so that your tank doesn't get as dirty as quickly. For feeding get a small dish and mix in water with a fruit based diet like Repashy or Pangea I also have videos on that. My tank is the Exo Terra 18in x 18in x 24in terrarium (I think the small tall) which is around 20 gallons:)
Everyone in the comments is saying they have a crestie, and since I don't have one yet its making me so jealous!! (I will get one soon tho, maybe in the next month or two, my dad is waiting for the right time)
I actually don't know much about bioactive enclosures. I've tried both repashy and pangea and I like both but repashy is just more accessible for me so that's what I feed my gecko.
i use pangea and my gecko loves it :) he east the fig&insect kind! as far as bioactive enclosures go, i don't have one but im always watching videos on them. the isopods and springtails, or other clean-up crew organisms you have in the tank should handle most of the filth in the enclosure, but cleaning the glass or spot cleaning feces in places the cleaners can't reach is a good idea!
hello, I have a juvenile crested gecko and I use paper towels as substrate as she is little. when she is older is the loose substrate okay? or will she get impacted? because I don’t want my baby getting sick.
What I did was I used paper towels until she was used to the place and got a bit bigger so like a couple months. Then I switched to eco earth and sphagnum moss which is what I recommend. Eco earth is good because when it’s fully dry it’s basically like dust and when it’s wet it still doesn’t clump together as much so it won’t cause problems if your gecko eats some. My gecko even ate some at the beginning (which is uncommon if your gecko is well fed) and she had no issues. So this is just what I recommend:)
I would have a trash bag taped to the desk or whatever the tank is on then just scrape it all off into the garbage. And you shouldn’t have to buy more every time no, the bags they come in are usually pretty big so it’ll last awhile
Yes mold is toxic for them just as it is for humans. Having mold in the tank is not good for your reptile and is not good for you either because you’re breathing it in. So try to avoid mold as much as possible maybe mist less or make sure your substrate is less moist so that it can dry.
I am so confused 😕 lol i am wanting one and people keep telling me spray water with like a out of a cleaner bottle like wash it out and put water in it and spray it on like the leave and stuff but i also see people like u using a water bowl ?..
Yes so I do both and I recommend doing both. This way your gecko can drink whenever it wants and doesn’t have to relay on you spraying. But then also mist the tank two times a day to keep it humid plus your gecko can drink off the leaves. Hope this helps:)
@@MarcoLiftz not sure if it’s a 20 gallon I just know the measurements but it’s pretty big (probably a 20 gallon tho) you can see it in my tank tour video
Oh no that’s not good! You need to clean your tank immediately if your gecko is breathing in mold that’s toxic!! Clean your tank as soon as you can and make sure your safe too and not breathing in the mold directly.
@@Bettasbay Update: I havnt cleaned it yet but i have found out what it is.It is mildew and its way less dangerous than mold but im obviously still going to clean it because it looks scary as hell and it makes me super angry
I recommend cleaning your tank every 6-10 weeks. You should spot clean daily but change the substrate every 6-10 weeks.
I realize Im kind of randomly asking but does anyone know of a good website to stream new movies online ?
@Abram Nehemiah Flixportal :P
@Dean Aaron Thank you, signed up and it seems like a nice service :D Appreciate it!
@Abram Nehemiah no problem :)
pangea and other sources say to clean it every month?
To clean your decor you can also use baking soda, lemon juice, or white vinegar!
Thank you for this video bc I was wondering do you spot clean or how do u go about cleaning lose substrate. Thanks for the clarification!

Is this spot cleaning or deep cleaning?
This is deep cleaning.
do u always have to buy new substrate and how do u take the substrate out the tank (for soil)
I would have a trash bag taped to the desk or whatever the tank is on then just scrape it all off into the garbage. And you shouldn’t have to buy more every time no, the bags they come in are usually pretty big so it’ll last awhile
Lemon juice works well for glass
