I wish my little crested Gecko was also sweet, he is a little monster! The spawn of SATAN and absolutely wants to destroy me every time I try and feed him or do maintenance in his terrarium. *Ps Love your videos! Big fan from a fellow tuber all the way from South Africa.
I would really like a crested gecko but I want a leo more. I may be getting one in the summer. I am going to adopt because what's the point in getting a brand new one when you can get an adult 😁. I love your videos and keep up the amazing work 😊.
I'm considering a crestie as my second reptile and this was a great idea of the supplies to start with! Any chance you ever do anything on bearded dragons? Im thinking of overhauling my dude's my old tank into something bigger and love your tank set ups!
Hey hey! So 1) you don’t really have to bathe your crestie. But if you do I suggest using clean water. NOT TAP WATER. just put them in a little container with little water(up to their toes) with a paper towel. This helps with shedding.2) I don’t suggest taking your crestie outside. They are jumpy animals and it could be a HUGE risk of it jumping away. But you can always take a temporary tank thing out there for a few min.3) some good products are the Pangea, basically any plant decor, eco earth, exo terra tanks.
I want to say Thank You for such an awesome video ! I just got my nephews Crested Gecko because no one wanted to take care of him and I’m starting from scratch to learn about and how to take care of the little guy ! You’ve helped me out with this video and he definitely needs a complete tank and living area upgrade ! I’m telling you if you are not a Teacher then you should seriously think about it because I think you’d be excellent and would help an awful lot of kids to learn about what ever you will be teaching ! Thank you again ! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I just ordered the final tank upgrade for my little one. She’ll be six months old on the 21st! I got her when she was just a wee little baby, but she’s been growing at a steady rate. I love the way her little sticky feet feel on my hands and I love watching her hunt down her crickets. They remind me of tiny, dorky little dragons. So cute!
Thank you for this updated video, help solidify some choices I made for little Ziri while I am still trying to see if I forgot anything when setting up the tank. (Dominique from Patreon here btw)
I like how you do your ebay shopping and go to shops etc to get thing for your terrariums. Because that's what I do and I can get upgrades for my crestie. Great video as always have a great day!!
As for too much UV exposure, they won't carry on creating D3 if over exposed to it. I too thought the same as you, but after studying appears I was wrong. So you can still use a shade dweller and supplement D3 😄
Love the presentation and I love your shopping list. . I have been doing allot of research on crested geckos as I am getting one soon. Your the only one that had mentioned that they need uvb as allot of my research has indicated that there diet is sufficient. Only time they recommend uvb is for bio active. Also the census seems to be a temp between 16-27 c seems to be sufficient with no external heating required. But the important thing is to keep the temp stable where ever it’s at. Thanks again!
I just found your channel and now I am binging your videos! In 2 Months my little Crestie will come to our home and I am starting to build its first enclosure. Thanks to your videos I hope it's gonna be decent 😄 I love your channel!!!!
I would love to see a video of the best way to handle baby/juvenile crested geckos? As well as how to best approach handling them. Thanks for the awesome video!
Yes! More cresty vids. I know you use terrariums & go the bioactive route. But would it be too much to challenge you to make an enclosure out of a plastic tub? Explain the pros/cons to both kinds of enclosures. Like plastic tubs dont get water buildup issues, maintain humidity, easier for new owners etc. If you do please let people know our arboreal geckos dont belong in 6qt tubs. Or maybe another video where you judge our enclosures. I would love to know your opinion of mine. You could maybe touch on how its possible to provide a heat gradient with tubs with a heat pad regulated by a thermostat etc.
I like the pangea biodegradable food cups because you can just pop those in the soil and let the cleanup crew care for them or throw them away without feeling guilty for creating plastic trash
I use distilled water for misting. No more water spots, crystal clear glass. For those who say distilled water is bad if they lick it, I say why? Rain water is not that different from distilled. Besides, the lizard gets most of his minerals etc from food. Although, I also do keep a small water cup with the feeding ledge and use tap water (with proper water treatment drops) for that. Been misting my growing Crested (in a bioactive terrarium with live plants) with distilled water for almost a year, and he and the plants are doing fine.
My mom and I absolutely love to watch your videos! We usually watch your leopard gecko related videos but seeing this video made me want a crested gecko so bad! Unfortunately, I'm broke and Baby, my leopard gecko, is already too much for me 😂 Thank you so much for making amazing and understandable videos, it has made me a better leo mom 💛💛
If your looking for a timer for your misting system timer . I use the hive smart plug as you can turn it on and off from your phone and set it as a timer in seconds. I used it for my frog when I went on holiday and it worked perfectly

Do you have any tips on how to provide care over an extended vacation? We arent really in a situation where we have someone that can come by daily, and wondered if there is a way to automate the care. Thanks!

A fellow you tuber went to see if we were keeping crested geckos the correct way so he went to the wild and saw that actually in the wild it’s 82 during the day and 78 at night so saying room temperature is not accurate unless your house is above 75 and humidity was at 80 so yup. After watching your video and noticing that my crested was acting slow and not eating much in winter I put a ceramic heater and now she’s back to her normal self
Im thinking about geting a crested gecko but i im super confusted about uvb and what to feed them. I made a misting system and used a Geyser timer u can set it in seconds think I ran 8sec for system I built and you can set it to come on multiple times a day, they very cheap available from any electrical supply store
Hey I hope your feeling better! I’ve been doing a little reading but wanted to ask you, would you recommend a male or female for my first crested? Is there differences in there needs ? Any tips are appreciated ..thank you!
The only difference is that females can ovulate. They may lay infertile eggs. They may reabsorb them. They may get eggbound (although this isn’t very common). They may go off of food when ovulating.
Check out the Lucky Reptile PRO digital timer for the mister. I'm just looking into doing a setup and this is programmable in seconds. I saw it on SWELL but probably get it elsewhere.
hey so I’m getting a deep heat projector soon. I know you say to put slate underneath but can you use ceramic tiles? Also when using a dhp do you still need to use d3 supplements?
DHPs only provide infrared a & b heat sources which doesn't cause a reptile to create their own d3, UVB/UVA lights do that. So if you do not plan on using a uvb light with them, then you'll still need to supply them with synthetic d3.
hi i have colored led lights put up in my room that light up my whole room. would those bother my crested gecko or would they like it because you can use it for their tank?

hi Rebecca! i’ve had a leopard gecko for almost a year now and for the last couple of months i’ve had trouble getting him to eat and i took him to the vet a few months ago and found out he had anorexia which is all cured now but i could still only get him to eat 5-10 worms a week (he doesn’t take crickets very well and will only eat maybe 1 or 2) but recently he’s started to eat 15-20 worms every second day and i’m wondering if i should cut him off at a certain number or keep feeding him now that he’s finally eating and see if he slows down eventually? i just want to make sure i’m not over feeding!
He will become obese if he continues to eat so many worms. Mealworms and superworms are fatty and difficult to digest. Feeding too many leads to overweight geckos. They’re not healthy for their main diet. Look into Dubia or discoid roaches, silkworms, and/or black soldier fly larvae. They’re all good options for his staple diet. How old is he?
I use the Thermo-/Hygrostat combi by trixie, it lets you set up the timing in 1 second intervals. And i bought glass sauce dishes as food cups, they're easier to clean than plastic ones and you can put them in the dishwasher :) Btw, do you refridgerate your food? Cause it says that it's only good for 6 months if opened and that's not enough time for my crestie to eat everything
Bonnie Parker yeah it’s meant to last a little longer in the fridge. I know what you mean about using it all up. I got that big bag of watermelon but really I should have just got the smaller one.
I want to get a UVB light for a crested gecko but the top of my tank is glass and not mesh. Will the UVB pass through the glass or does it make the light useless?
I have a 3 year old female crested gecko that is in a 18x18x24 bioactive tank with lots of hides. When I got her from her previous owner (she was a rehome) warned me that she was a “runner” and oh boy is she! She is super hyper and bolts all the time. She luckily hasn’t dropped her tail yet but boy she gets spooked easily and just bolts. I try to handle her briefly a couple times a week for just a few minutes to get her more used to me but I feel so guilty stressing her out. Any suggestions or similar experiences?
Maybe try just gentle pettings a bit, like the head and upper back, hanging out in the room with her, maybe hand feeding her food and treats here and there?
"Crested geckos are docile.." *my crestie bouncing around the tank like a lunatic* 👀
SekiDoesThings ☺️☺️ I mean they’re not aggressive though ☺️

When you had a bromeliad in your tank how did it go? Did it work well as a plant? Thanks.
hii do i still need a DHP even if my house is always 72-74 degrees? it’s never cold here in florida
Have you tried using RO water? Doesn’t leave water marks on glass
Do you use distilled water to mist down the tank? I’m pretty sure it doesn’t leave water spots!
What's better for external or habitat vivarium?
hey so I’m getting a deep heat projector soon.

Btw, do you refridgerate your food? Cause it says that it's only good for 6 months if opened and that's not enough time for my crestie to eat everything
Bonnie Parker yeah it’s meant to last a little longer in the fridge. I know what you mean about using it all up. I got that big bag of watermelon but really I should have just got the smaller one.
I want to get a UVB light for a crested gecko but the top of my tank is glass and not mesh. Will the UVB pass through the glass or does it make the light useless?
I’m having a hard time finding a pulse proportional thermostat, all I can find are the on/off ones. Know where I can find some for a decent price?
Could you maybe share some tips on how to bond with your Crested Gecko?
Do you use exo terra water treatment ? Apparently tap water isn’t safe to give to reptiles but, I’m not sure how true that is
Tap water with chlorine (used throughout North America) isn’t safe to give to reptiles. You can use spring water, or water treated with reptisafe.
Should I buy bee pollen for my crested gecko
An easy way to prevent water stains on the glass is to use distilled water for spraying. It has no minerals in so leaves no stains.
Do I need the heat I’m in uk and it’s spring
