If the muffler delete is too noisy, you could do a resonator delete and keep the muffler intact. Should give you a little more sound, nothing too crazy

Kinda. The muffler reduces all car sounds at all RPMs but the resonator works at low RPMs to reduce droning. You can also get sports mufflers which are designed to get that specific racey tone

Has the 4.2 L V8 and it sounds incredible. Thing screams like an R8.

Help needed! Just bought a brand new a class a200 petrol and want a better sound - some people have said muffler delete some have said resonator delete and as a complete newb I have no idea which to do as like you say in you video the drone gets a bit annoying on long journeys which I do a 300+ mile journey twice a month. Been told as it’s a new car there are no aftermarket exhausts available yet and as the car just cost me over £30k (every penny I had in the bank and credit cards lol) I’m on a seriously low budget to make it sound better - not looking for a45 sound just nicer then the absolute silent stock exhaust. Subbed a couple days ago as I just got a 15 two door gti, not the performance pack but still am seriously impressed with how this car handles and takes tight turns for a fwd car. Not to mention it's alot quicker then I expected coming from a 2006 Volvo s60R. Muffler delete, LED headlights, then once Im used to the car stage 1.5 eurodyne tune are the only mods I plan on doing besides small/cheap cosmetic stuff. Keep the vids coming, I'll be doing some car stuff too once I get things going

In the 1960's we ran cutouts,Then you could have both,By the pull of a knob on or off.
That's what I'm going to do. Install a cutout with an electric valve that opens with the push of a button. From stealth mode to asshole at the flip of a switch.... Going on Wednesday.
Mufflers do not affect MPG, O2 sensor, fuel and air ratio, or even emissions. Unless you take off resonator then it will affect your car!

The only reason fuel consumption goes down is because you are speeding more due to the amazing sound. It's not because you removed the muffler its self. And as far as emissions it's not affected unless you remove the catalytic converter. The resonator and muffler are strictly for sound reduction.

Apparently in the state of MA (where I live) you can't pass inspection with straight pipes. Of course could just be that those two particular shops I visited are picky.

MedicMagic in mass technically you can modify your car but if it's louder than what it sounds stock you fail lol depending on how nice the guy is
Just put some remotely controlled exhaust cut out so that when you want to drive your car like a race car you can have the noise that you want and if you just want to drive chillin you can shut the cut out off and it would be silent like it used to.

I did muffler delete on my direct injection cobalt and it sounds amazing like 200 grand of modifications is going through the street it’s amazing and it doesn’t drone only if you remove the catalytic and don’t put a proper cat back

I juat do a muffler deleted on my 17IS200t today. I have mix feeling on the interiors sound confort but same time, i enjoy the sound when i am in the mood. But for long drive. I dont know yet. I have done a long drive yet.

Did this for 2 days in my Nissan, after getting pulled over 6 times in one day, I put the mufflers back on. Violates city rules here in my city to cut the exhaust.... sound oridance...

I know this video is practically 2 years old by now, but I need an opinion.
I want to remove the mufflers from my 2014 Elantra Coupe. It’s a 2.0, and the only performance modification on it right now is an injen cold air intake. I love hearing my car’s engine, but the only thing that’s _probably_ stopping me is the fact that it might draw more cops’ attention.
Should I do it anyway?
My expert opinion is... just send it! I’ve never been pulled over for it just don’t be a dummy and rip it where there might be cops lol

What drone? Had my muffler gone, doing 70mph around 2k rpm, almost sounds quiet, It'll only start to rumble at around 2,9k rpm for me.

I'm seeing so many posts not just this video but others as well like this about back pressure. No car needs back pressure. The only car la that probably will be effected is automatics. They will need a tune. However, if your a true car can that loves the fun. GET A MANUAL!!! No tune needed when doing a muffler delete. Thank you

Lol all 'straight pipe' means is that a certain length of the exhaust is an aftermarket straight pipe. A full 'straight pipe exhaust system' which you are confusing this muffler delete with is literally a straight piece of piping from the engine to the back of the car. This guy has put a straight pipe in the place of a muffler. It's attached to the stock piping which still has a catalytic converter/resonator if his car has one
I believe he’s saying when you cut off the muffler to weld a pipe on so it extends out the back. This is to prevent the carbon build up on your car.

I plan on just deleting the muffler, it's rusted the fuck out, I have a 2.5L v6 Ford contour, which produces 170hp at the wheels, it moves and is somewhat loud when I floor it. I love it, but it simply isn't loud enough, so is it true that removing the muffler will cause an exhaust leak?

Actually, because the muffler isn’t there, it’s easier for the engine to push out the exhaust; giving the engine more horsepower. At least that’s what I think. However, it could effect your gas mileage because when your at a stop, you always get that feeling of wanting to gun it so you can hear how beautiful it sounds which ends up eating so much gas.

Rocked with a muffler and res delete on my gti for about a year not really any drone unless your cruising at 90+ mph I got a catless dp and I’d say your car get 2x louder with a downpipe so I tossed the resonator back in just the muffler delete alone sounds bad you need to take the resonator out too for a good tone

No, thats your oxygen sensors in your catalytic converter, or the one in your exhaust manifold, but the O2 sensor in the catalytic converter simply is for emissions, no engine damage

RC CARS NATION some counties in Texas only care if you straight pipe a diesel removing the DEF system (mainly in dallas, houston, and austin from what i’ve researched). If you’re driving a gasser they don’t really care as much

I bought a 2010 Hyundai Genesis 3.8l v6 with a muffler delete. I fucking love it.. I love being that girl with the loud ass car. But honestly my heart is broken. Because I have to put a muffler on my car😭😭 in Delaware you apparently can’t have straight pipe.. and you must have a muffler😭 I was pulled over a few weeks ago and got into this huge argument with this cop about how my car doesn’t go over the max decibel which is 96.5 decibels between 2500/3000 rpms.. (which yes I can of course make it much louder than 96.5) but out of respect for the neighbors I try not to rev it and be crazy loud when coming and going from the development.. Only wen I get out the development do I rev it and even then I really don’t and granted it gets a lil loud but technically it doesn’t go over 96.5 decibels at the dmv test. But it’s straight pipe😭😭 so im beat basically I guess.. I’m so sad this car is my baby and the thought of her sounding different honestly makes me wana cry and I kno that sounds stupid cuz it’s just a car.. but she’s my baby and I feel like my hands are tied on this and there’s nothing I can do about it😢 my car still has the delete at this moment but my ticket is due on the 11th so I gotta get it in the shop before then and get the muffler on before then so I can take it to court and the cop said he’d drop it.

I’ve taken the mufflers off my Nissan and it sounds great but now I’m starting to question the legality of it. Call me a pussy but I’m just a little concerned, don’t wanna get stopped constantly and fined. I live in FL so we have no emissions tests but the law on mufflers is pretty straight forward, you can’t modify them in any way other than stock. Fl also has decible rating for what they deem acceptable, I thought of going to a shop and getting a recommendation on how to stay somewhat within the law as far as the decibel rating which is 82 decibels over 50mph but still have a car that’s louder than stock. What do you guys think?

You can get a little more horsepower by deleting the muffler because it prevents scavenging😊
scavenging is good, but you can make more horsepower by increasing exhaust velocity, which helps scavenging. but you could only make more power with a less restrictive intake, because when you increase air flow on one end, you should increase air flow on the other
