This was my first time knitting in the round and my first beanie. I used a lesser weighted yarn so I had to use some adjustments to these instructions, but this was a good template to go off of. Thank you!
Thanks so much for this tutorial! I watched so many others and really struggled to follow but yours was nice and easy. I made the mistake of buying circular knitting needles that were too long though, and so had to thread through the extra wire each time...not realising I was accidentally adding stitches each time I did a purl stitch. The result... 120 stitches around, very floppy and funny looking 😂 I ended up seeing together the excess and trimming it off and got there in the end, but learnt a lot of lessons for my first knitting project!
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed! Have you ever heard of the magic loop method? It will allow you to work with the long cord a little bit easier! Glad you were able to find a solution tho!
You can also make it on 2needles,I'm not a fan of circular needles, you just have the seam to see,l find it much easier and quicker, just my opinion, but a great video thank you,l have subscribed to your channel.
I know this is old but I did this project yesterday on straight needles and then sewed the hat together when finished. Came out perfect! Thank you for the pattern!
So I have this amazing 4 weight yarn I'm wanting to make a hat with. How many stitches should I cast on and what size needles should I use? I love this pattern !!
It’s all based on your gauge! Do a gauge swatch and multiply the number of stitches you have per inch my the number of inches you want your hat circumference to be!
What does it mean to long tail cast on vs “regular cast on” ? I’ve never knitted before but regularly crochet and I’m lost lol Is the knit stitch smaller than the purl stitch and that creates a valley? One more question! Lol I see continental knitting recommended for crocheters, do you have a recommendation? Thanks🤦🏼♀️🤣
Your hat reminds me of a muffin or a cupcake. It's so cute. This is a bit similar to the copy cat CC beanie hat that a lot of people here on UA-cam make.
When a pattern says ....row 2 and all even numbered rows; work in a P ......what do I do...???? I’m a new self thought knitter and need some help from anyone who can explain what I do next
There are 4 sets of Purl ridges. If you find written patterns helpful, you can find the written pattern on my blog! I believe the link is in the description box!
Booo…my tension was all off and so mine came out too small. I am going to do 2 more rounds before starting the decrease. Your pattern is great though, the issue was my knitting.
I resolved my doubts on the messy bun hat I am doing!! Thanks!! Great instruction, Great Video!!! :)

How many 3rounds of purl on the hat I'm a bit confused thanks
I enjoyed this tutorial. Thank you for showing us how to make it. This will be on my list next. ;-)
I so loved your Easy messy Bun Hat! I will be making one and more! You're an awesome teacher! I just had to subscribe!
Wow! Thanks so much! ☺️
Love the beanie, just wondering if it can be done with straight needles?
You could use double pointed needles, but standard straight needles probably won’t work.
You can not knit in the round with regular straight needles.
I know this is old but I did this project yesterday on straight needles and then sewed the hat together when finished. Came out perfect! Thank you for the pattern!
@@kimpierson8009 did you follow the same pattern?
You can knit as a flat piece and then seam, yes. You cannot knit in the round tho..
Do you have a knitted bolero jacket pattern thank you

I made this. Easy, fast, and looks great! How would I make it into a regular hat? Close it up. Thanks for a great video.
8’’
Thank you! This is very helpful.
thank you love the bennie but also can't find the written pattern on your blog :)
Love it ! I have only 4 size yarn 😩😩how many stitches
It’s all based on your gauge! Do a gauge swatch and multiply the number of stitches you have per inch my the number of inches you want your hat circumference to be!
I used 4 size yarn doubled (2 strands together)! I also did 48 stitches.
I can't find my 9mm.....would an 8mm be okay? And if so, how many more stitches would I need to add? New to knitting.

Thank you so much. A pattern I can actually follow. 🤣
When a pattern says ....row 2 and all even numbered rows; work in a P ......what do I do...???? I’m a new self thought knitter and need some help from anyone who can explain what I do next
When it says work in a P, purl the next row.
I'm sorry, and all rows that are even or odd, whatever it says, purl those rows. When it says work it means purl or knit the whole row.
Love it but can’t find written pattern.
Great 👍
wherre can i find the patterns please?
That was easy.Thsnk you.
Can I use 4 weight yarn?
Yep! You’ll probably Need to cast on more stitches though.
@@LunarKnitsbyLori by how many? I'm going to start this project! 💙💙
How do I print pattern
It’s on my blog! I’m not sure if you can print from there but you can copy and paste it into a document and print from there! 🙂
How many ridges before decrease
There are 4 sets of Purl ridges. If you find written patterns helpful, you can find the written pattern on my blog! I believe the link is in the description box!
Do you have printed directions? Oh, BTW, it is pronounced “skane” not “skeen”.
AWESOME, THANKS, I MADE ONE, NO PROBLEM.
where do I get the written pattern?
You can find it on my blog! I believe the link is in the description!
Can not find a link

I made it with 8 mm needles and chunky yarn. I like it but idk y its tiny as heck lol like im afraid it wont fit a 5 yr old lol i cast on 44
Mary Miceli you need 9mm/us 13 she mentions that at the beginning you used a smaller needle. Hope that helps
Ya, 44 is kind of small with an 8" needle.
♡♡
How do I get the pattern?
You talk too fast!!
Ok
