    Just tried this! A tip for making sewing in the elastic easier is to sew in a guide thread in a different color into your final loops tie it off to itself making one big circle, then remove your loops from the loom. Then you have a much easier time sewing on the elastic.

    Thank you so much. I make approximately 300 hats per year for charity and about 1/4 are messy bun hats... But I have only been looming for a short time and did not think that I could do a messy bun hat. Thus is great. Thank you so much😎😎😎

    Thank you so much for your amazing videos! I first tried the wrap headband and now this. I had never knit or crocheted before and your videos helped me be able to do the full projects so far! The only part I found difficult (which someone else mentioned) is that the flat knit was really tight and hard to do. You made it look so easy but no matter how hard I tried I couldn't do it easily the way you were doing and actually made my fingers really raw tried to move the tight loops. Then I figured out that doing it like a purl is much easier and you get more control over the tension of the loops. So I just kept the loose thread on top and purled from bottom to top. Don't know if that makes sense. That might make it easier for others as well. Again, thank you so so much for your videos. I'll be making more projects thanks to you!!

    • @roohina
      @roohina 6 років тому +2

      Also if anyone else is having trouble tying in the hair tie at the end (if the hair tie is too tight) I ended up passing a separate yarn into the loops (to hold the loops intact) and taking them off the loom before tying in the tie and it really helped make it look even.

    • @roohina
      @roohina 6 років тому +2

      I felt the exact same way. The flat stitch was getting too tight and really hurting my fingers to cast. I figured a way to do it an easier way that keeps the loop loose. It's like a purl except you keep the loose thread on top and you pick it up going from bottom to top. I don't know if that makes sense.

      Hi Shirley! To prevent the stitches getting tight I normally knit them 1 by one (laying the working yarn in front of the peg without much tension, or creating a "u-wrap"). You can loosen your tension as you form the stitches... You can see an example of what I mean here: ua-cam.com/video/SEHE3WGui30/v-deo.html
