I never learned the stitch into both loops in first and last stitch, it looks so clean and sharp!!! I’m going to do this from now on. I love it ! Thank you so much for that great tip!
I can't believe I was actually able to make this hat. It looks so difficult but was actually quite simple once I picked up the pattern. Easy to follow! Thanks again.
Woo Hoo! Super glad to hear that! I felt the same way when I first tried cables! I couldn't believe I wanted so long to try them. You are right once you get the hang of it, it's actually not that hard at all! The outcome is Gorgeous! You are so welcome and Thank you for watching.
Made this hat, love it! In the final row of single crochet I crocheted around a hair elastic to give the hole a good stretch :) I like to use 1/4 inch sewing elastic that I sew into a loop. It is more sturdy and will not break.
I so appreciate how your videos are short and to the point. And very easy to understand. I love them and you create beautiful work. I had no idea how to do these and a few friends have asked...now I can gift them. Thank you again!!
Dee, thank you for your comment I truly appreciate it! I honestly try and keep it short and to the point too! LOL! But also try and think about the beginners too! These cables are so FUN - You'll for sure be "Hooked"! They make GREAT gifts! Thanks for watching.
I love this pattern and the tutorial - thank you for posting it! For anyone who joined the Facebook group but cannot find the pattern instructions, let me help you because I was lost too, even though it is simple. Go to the FB page, click "Files." On the Files page you won't see the pattern at first - just scroll down and click "See More" at the bottom of the list and more files will show. You may have to do it twice to see the Cable M@ssy Bun hat. Click and it should open as a PDF file. You can save it by clicking "Save As" at the top, or click "File Print."
Silverinkpot7, Thank you for your comment! I truly appreciate it! Thanks for the info too! Besides the Katniss - this is a popular pattern and don't know how to keep it to the TOP! LOL! Thanks for watching!
hi I'm just finished this hat in black for one of mi nieces and I'm so thankful for your tutorial the way you did explain it was so easy for me right now I am making the grey one and is for sure that I will have the exact same awesome result thanks to you girl God bless you and I hope you do a lot more tutorials.
This is a wonderful and super clear tutorial!! I love it! I wasn’t familiar with most of these techniques but the tutorial was so good I managed to make the piece with just a few watch throughs!! Thank you 🎊
I tried this a few months ago just by reading a pattern and it seemed so hard. After watching your video, I whipped out a child size hat in two hours and I love it. I did mine from the top down though. Great tutorial! Thanks.
Obsessed with this pattern!💛 my first cable stitch anything! So easy to follow, thank you so much! I made a couple so far, one I worked up to a full beanie and added a pom pom, gorgeous!
Absolutely love this tutorial - easy and quick. Had no problems, following along, modified a little to fit me. Love the easy pattern as well. Will be making again and again. Thank you so much - keep doing tutorials, you're great at them.
Thank you so much for your comment! You're very welcome! Glad it was easy to follow too! I mentioned in another comment that these Cables are just elegant looking I LOVE the look! Thanks for watching and I'm sure I'll be doing more! Stay Tuned! LOL!
Just a quick thank you for this tutorial. I was doing another that had the cable stitch in only DC's and they were just toooo tight (user error, I am sure) so when I found this it was just awesome to give me that little bit of room! Thank you! Your videos are so very informative and clear! I've applied for the FB page where the pattern is so hope to be able to print it out soon! Thank you again - this is wonderful!
Hi Linda, I think I approved you for the FB page! LOL! Thank you so much for your comments, I really did try and make this as clear as I could as I know that Cables can be intimidating. I know they were when I did my 1st ones! I know the pattern had been deleted but I put it back in there yesterday. Thank you for watching!
Thanks for such a wonderful teaching video! I just learned how to crochet my most complicated project and seeing it worked out made the front/back post so easy! Who needs word games when you can learn new stitches every evening!
Dorothy, you are so welcome! Woo Hoo! Good for you that's so exciting! I know this Cable stitch can be very intimidating especially for beginners! But super glad this video was helpful! LOL on the word games! Thank you again for watching!
kraftsbyyvonne ThanknYou, i watched this over n over n thought NoWay i can do this.... and guess what?? Im doing it🤗🤗🤗🤗 and im making a baby blanket with this pattern. Its lookn soo adorable...THANK U
This was my first project with cables. I tried others before but it was too hard. Thank you for making such a clear, understandable video! I already made one and I’m starting on my second.
Thank you.....I found this pattern on Pinterest with a bow on it. I have been trying to follow the pattern and just couldn't work it out. Then I found you doing this on UA-cam. It was so much easier....thank you thank you thank you.....and you explained it so well 💕👍🏻💕😍
Thank you Yvonne for this amazing tutorial! I can't wait to try making a messy bun hat. The pattern is beautiful and I am looking forward in making this pattern for my 3 girls. You are amazing crocheter ❤❤
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your comment! This is one of my Favorite patterns by Diana besides the Katniss one. It's just so Elegant looking. Thanks for watching!
Thank you! I started this pattern from the Facebook page, and it was good to check in and see that I was following pattern correctly, as awkward as it felt. Look forward to watching more of your videos!
Hi there sorry for the late response been a crazy last few months here. But wanted to respond. Awwww Thank you & You’re welcome 😊 Thanks for watching & Happy Holidays!
Thank you Carol! I LOVE this pattern by Diana also! I have to agree on the FB Group too! So many great hats! They will LOVE this hat in SoDak! Thank you for watching!
Awesome video Yvonne! everything about your videos are perfect...no wasted time with over talking about the stitches, you get right down to business, you can see exactly how you work the stitches without your fingers or hands getting in the way, you are very clear with your instructions! thank you so very much! i do have a question...you've made a note saying that you can do your bpdc around your ch 2 if you'd like. would this also include when your round begins with a fpdc? how does this make a difference in the look? i'm assuming it's a neater and less obvious seam? i'm anxious to try this pattern later today!
Thank you so much Leilla! I appreciate your comment and trying to get better at staying in the camera AND keeping fingers, hands out of the way! LOL! Yes, so I noticed that on SOME of the rounds it's really easy to wrap around the ch2 space - the FPDC you mention it's not that easy but can be done. I think it makes a neater seam - I played around with it alot and some are done this way and some are not. I would just play around with it and see how it works for you. Hope I answered your question! Thanks for watching!
Love your tutorial, watched and going to give it a go today, you explained it so great...Could I ask about the label...Love how it completes the look! Thank You
Hi Lynn, Thank you so much and you're very welcome! That hat shown is from the designer and she makes the labels. I'll see if I can get the link for you or how she did it. I know many in the FB Group ask her about them and she's going to share how she does it. Thanks for watching.
Jessica, So AWESOME! Glad to hear you enjoyed following me! Once it clicks they are super easy to make and make great Christmas Gifts! Thank you for watching.
It would be helpful if you zoomed in to differentiate between the stitches to know where to stitch into. I started with 70 rows and I have no problem doing the crossed over trebles but I ended up with the wrong count of dc's. I took them out and will try again next time I have time to sit with it. It's a beautiful pattern, I hope I can figure this out.
kraftsbyyvonne well, I found my mistake and it was indeed mine. I had missed a couple of DC's. So I am back on track next time that I pick it up. When working up a pattern I know from experience that the first row establishing the pattern can be tricky. Heads up!
I need pattern and am having a difficult time finding it. Hat portion: starting off with 2 dcbp and cable; then the next time it seems you 2dcbp, 2dcfp AND another 2dcbp then cable.
Hi Renee, Yes the pattern is in FB Group in the link above in the description - message me if you still can't find it. I'll get it to you. Yes that is correct. Again if you can't get pattern email me. Thank you for watching!
Yes she missed doing a second back post on the second time of showing it that is how she ended with a front post. But if you looks she does it but doesn't show us.
i agree. I was confused and messed up because she didn't show doing the two back post the second time and i didn't know why my stitches weren't lining up correctly.
I love your tutorials! You do a good job! I just thought of a trick for you, when I was watching this, for you to stay in the camera. You could put a sticky dot in the center of the viewing area of the camera on the table or 4 sticky dots in a square to keep you in the viewing area. That way you would know when you are in or out of range of the camera but it would not hinder your crocheting tutorial. It would be just for your own knowledge. They could be very inconspicuous so as not to attract attention away from the tutorial. Hope this helps!
Thank you LInda! I really appreciate you comment! LOVE your idea and thought of it too - I first thought it would take attention away BUT I'm thinking of something to use that won't! Yes it does help thank you! Thanks again for watching!
I personally would not recommend this pattern for beginners. Not that it's so difficult, just complex enough to make it easy to lose your place. Takes a while to become comfortable with how the stitches look. There are lots of simple patterns beginners can try that look nice too without causing unnecessary frustration and possibly ditching the craft. Just my opinion...
So excited I finally learned this stitch from you!! I made the hat and it came out beautiful! Going to use this stitch with some heather color yarn (like the first hat you showed) and make a baby blanket! Thank you!!!!
Millie, thank you for your comment and so glad you enjoyed and learned this stitch! It's one of my favorites! You are so welcome and thanks for watching.
Thank you so much for the excellent video tutorial. You are a superb teacher and make learning so much fun. I look forward to following many of your videos to come.
Sam Withoutlimits Hi there, no you’re not the only one whose told me that. I’ve had a few other connections saying the same! This was my 1st crochet video and was super nervous. Anyway I made this other one which is much slower. ua-cam.com/video/iZ1evVdYRTg/v-deo.html Thanks for watching!!
Thank you so much for this! I just did my first cable... I was too intimidated... but you made it easy for me, thanks! I think my mother in law will love it this Christmas. Also I don't think some of the comments are right about you going fast. Whoever says that is tackling a pattern level they are not ready for.
Cody, you are so welcome! I was too til I made my 1st one - then I met the Designer to this one and tested for her. I totally fell in LOVE all over again and am obsessed with them. You're MIL is going to Love it! So glad I made it easy for you - I always worry about that part. I want it to be easy for everybody! Ha! Ha! On your last comment it made me LOL! Thank you so much for watching and I truly appreciate your comments!
Great video. Although i am not new to crocheting I have put off learning to do cables. This video has changed that for sure. Just finished one for my daughter and am moving on to another one. Really works up fast. Anyway thanks for taking the time to do this.
Doneva, I know what you mean! I too put learning the Cable stitch! But now they're addicting! Super fun and so elegant looking. Thank you for your comment and thanks for watching!
I had a hard time following at first. but of course I like to multitask while crochetting. once I sat and really watched I understood in less than 5 minutes! thank you. ^^ the Facebook group seems very nice as well, I recently joined. I made my first hat in this pattern black. for myself. I'm hoping to try more of the free patterns on the group.
I just Made this hat with you you were very well explanatory if that is a word my hat turned out beautiful took me a couple tries I messed up now and then but you do videos very very good
Brenda, Thank you so much! I appreciate you comment! So glad your hat turned out beautiful! I LOVE This is a great pattern from my friend! It's super ADDICTING too! Thank for watching!
Very helpful video, thank you. Your voice is also so soothing it kept me calm while learning the cable stitch :-) One little addition that would be helpful is either a link or time indicator of the point of the video where each of the cable rows starts (for those of us who take longer to memorise things). Please keep making tutorial videos x
Hi, thank you for your awesome tutorial! You explained the directions very well, and all stitches were clearly seen. I made this hat in white, and it fits perfect! I did 60 rounds as my head is smaller. I'll definitely will be making more!!
Aww Thank you! Super awesome that you are able to do them now. I'll have to warn you...they are super addicting. You are so welcome and Thank YOU for watching.
Love your tutorial! Thank you as my niece in-law has asked me to make her a messy bun ha. Looking forward to trying this and hopefully mine will look as great as yours. 😊❤️🇨🇦
Thank you Yvonne for this video! Easy to watch and I will try to get back to you when I do this project. I am working on the scarf right now and I needed an idea for a hat to go with it and found your video.
I just finished my first cable messy bun hat from your tutorial. Ive learned so much: cable stitch, sc decrease, etc and i made an awesome final piece for myself. Thank you so much for this amazing tutorial . Have a happy holidays!!
So sorry I never got this comment. YAY! So happy you were able to make the Cable Hat! That's awesome! Glad you enjoyed the tutorial and thank you for watching.
Hi Veronica, at this time I don't have a pattern for a child size - you could try a smaller hook or even a #3 yarn. My friend designed this hat - we'll see about doing a child size. Thank you for watching.
Great tutorial, thanks for sharing! My first cable stitch project and it was great. I don’t feel that it was too fast. This definitely is a video for those with a good basic crochet knowledge who want to take the next step. I subscribed, thanks again!
Thank you Jennifer for your feedback. It was my 2nd video and I was extremely nervous especially with this stitch. Glad it turned out great for your 1st Cable Stitch project! Woo Hoo! You are so welcome! Thank you for subscribing and thanks for watching.
I am almost done and realized I did it wrong, but I do like it! I do not see how many rows you are supposed to do, I guess I'll have to judge on myself when I'm done.....but love this pattern!
Awesome! This is a great pattern for sure and super addicting. I did do another video just like this but also showing how to make it into a Full Beanie. You can see that here - ua-cam.com/video/iZ1evVdYRTg/v-deo.html Thank you so much for watching.
I just love the way you explain this, your voice is extremely pleasant... Thank you very much for the tutorial - started the hat, i am sure it will be awesome looking :)
Dang when that happens! Well then looks like trip to buy more Yarn! LOL! You know since the videos - I've made the Brim part 9 or 10 sc -10 seems to cover the ears much better - so I do 11sc to start. You are very welcome and Thanks for watching!
The hat is amazing when finished! My sister-in-law requested a messy bun hat and when I saw ur video, I fell in love with it but one thing I can’t get thru the 2 row. I have way to many stitches. I tried joining the FB Group to get the pattern but no luck! Please help desperate crochet! Lol
Sorry I answered your other question first! Let me know if you still need help. You have to have Multiple of 10 stitches. So the brim should be 60, 70 etc..... I do have a slower video but it sounds like your stitch count might be off. Again...thanks for watching.
Thank you Michelle, it's my Friend Diana's pattern! Sorry for responding so late, work and holidays been crazy here! I'll see what I can do about a scarf for this pattern. Thank you for your comment and for watching!
Omg when you opened up the video i was soooo happy. I was trying to follow this pattern on another video but.... she spoke a biiiit too slowly and it was slightly fustrating for me. To each her own! I enjoyed your video :) thank you!
Lavorazione spiegata molto bene. Chiaro il video ed i movimenti . Ho confezionato questo cappello con misure da uomo e pom pom. Risultato spettacolare. Molto caldo e compatta la lavorazione. Thanks
Hi there! Thank you so much! Sorry when you click the Show More button it's right there. I didn't realize you couldn't see the group the pattern is in. facebook.com/groups/603800456472001/
This was a really good video. I ended up making a chain of 64 and then i just added extra back ridges around by the cables stick starts, if that males sense. So cool!! My firdt messy bun hat amd fist time cable stitching....thank you so much.
Hi there sorry for the late response been a crazy last few months here. But wanted to respond. YAY!!! Once you get the hang of Cables they are a piece of cake AND addicting to make! Thanks for watching & Happy Holidays!
I never learned the stitch into both loops in first and last stitch, it looks so clean and sharp!!! I’m going to do this from now on. I love it
! Thank you so much for that great tip!
You are so right it looks so clean and sharp! You are very welcome! Thank you for watching & Happy Holidays!

Made this hat, love it! In the final row of single crochet I crocheted around a hair elastic to give the hole a good stretch :) I like to use 1/4 inch sewing elastic that I sew into a loop. It is more sturdy and will not break.
Awesome! Glad you Love it! Good to know about the Hair elastic! Thank you for watching.
I so appreciate how your videos are short and to the point. And very easy to understand. I love them and you create beautiful work. I had no idea how to do these and a few friends have asked...now I can gift them. Thank you again!!

Jan Courtney you are so welcome! Glad it was easy enough to follow! Thanks for watching!
I think that the pattern will be with 72 doble crochet. Because it is sipouse to be multiple of 8. With 70 I can't follow the pattern. Left over 2

I see what I did now! YAY!
Just finished this beanie. LOVE LOVE LOVE. And so easy!!!
Rachel, Woo Hoo so glad you found it easy to make! Thank you for watching!
I need pattern and am having a difficult time finding it. Hat portion: starting off with 2 dcbp and cable; then the next time it seems you 2dcbp, 2dcfp AND another 2dcbp then cable.

Can I get that too? So it 2dcbp then 2dcfp and then 2dcbp between the cables?
@@yvonnemetz1 I would like a copy of this patter please :)
Rhonnie Jones Hi there! Click on the link in the description box above. It goes to my blog. Thank you for watching!
I have the same question @@annemccarty5068
Thank you very much for your tutorial. 🌹It's so nice to find someone who grabs the hook exactly like me!☺
You are so welcome! LOL! Thank you for watching!
I think there is a mistake . You should do 2 back posts 2 front then 2 back not one otherwise you will not get 7 cables with 70 stitches
Ghada Eladawy Hi there! Yes since I have 70 I’ll get 7 cables if you do 60 you’ll get 6 cables. Thanks for watching!
Ghada Eladawy I noticed that too. So with 70, it’s 2,2,2 right?
Hi Kristi, if you have a count of 70 you'll have a total of 7 cables. What part are you talking about? Thank for watching.
Yes she missed doing a second back post on the second time of showing it that is how she ended with a front post. But if you looks she does it but doesn't show us.
i agree. I was confused and messed up because she didn't show doing the two back post the second time and i didn't know why my stitches weren't lining up correctly.
I think how you explain what you are doing is brilliant and easy to follow
Alice, Thank you so much! I do try my best to make it as easy as possible. Thanks for watching.
muy bien explicado,gracias
De Nada! Que Buen y Muchas gracias!
Thanks again for watching!
por favor subeles sub en español
I'll see what I can do. Thanks for watching!

I want to talk to the 17 people who don't like this. one of the best hats for crochet imhop
Mic - Thank you very much! Your comment cracked me up! LOL!!! This is a GREAT Hat pattern! Thanks for watching!
It's up to 216 now, it's gotta be their own skill levels cuz the video is great
too fast for me to learn this stitch
Renee, Thank you for your feedback. I may be doing another project using this stitch. Thanks for watching.
You can slow the video down to your speed, you can pause and you can rewind or go back to the section you need
You can consult other beginner friendly videos to learn the stitches used in making the hat
Playback speed is adjustable
what a great clear video you make it look easier than many other videos I am even tempted to give it a go thanks
Thank you for your comment and you're welcome! Yes give it a go! Thanks for watching.
Too fast for beginners
Thank you for your feedback and Thanks for watching.
The pause & rewind options are available for those that need to slow it down.
You are so welcome and thanks for watching.
please do slowly your doing so fast. thank you.
Thank you for your feedback. Thank you for watching too!
You have the ability to slow down the video through the settings, you can also pause and rewind or go back to the section you need

Thank you so much for the excellent video tutorial. You are a superb teacher and make learning so much fun. I look forward to following many of your videos to come.
Tina, Awww thank you so much! I truly appreciate your comment! Glad it's fun for you! I truly enjoy sharing with you all! Thank you for watching!
I am probably the only one who will tell you but you go too fast for a pattern that is so complicated.
CraftSea Creations Oh my gosh how do you get to be a pattern tester? That would be like being a cookie tester!
I love that you have made two versions of this, I learnt different things from each. Many thanks.
Hi Jen, Sorry for the late response! It's been crazy these last few weeks! YAY! Glad you enjoyed it! You are so welcome & Thank you for watching!
You are so welcome! Woo Hoo for understanding it! LOL! The FB Group is really nice too! Thanks for watching!
I’ve tried three other cable stitch hat patterns. This is the absolute best. Thank you for sharing 🌹.

Very helpful video, thank you. Your voice is also so soothing it kept me calm while learning the cable stitch :-)
One little addition that would be helpful is either a link or time indicator of the point of the video where each of the cable rows starts (for those of us who take longer to memorise things). Please keep making tutorial videos x
You are so welcome! Thank you for your feedback as well. I'll for sure keep making videos. Thank you for watching!
Hi, thank you for your awesome tutorial! You explained the directions very well, and all stitches were clearly seen. I made this hat in white, and it fits perfect! I did 60 rounds as my head is smaller. I'll definitely will be making more!!
Toni, you're so welcome! Thank you for your comment! You'll for sure be "Hooked" on making these! Thank you for watching!

kraftsbyyvonne awesome! I will send you pics when I'm finished!
Great vid & teaching style, I made one so easy. I did a slip stitch around the base of the ribbing to clean it up some, came out nicely :) thanks

LOVE this pattern! I made matching boot cuffs as well to go with the hat.
Mandi, that's so awesome! Thanks for watching!

So sorry I never got this comment. YAY! So happy you were able to make the Cable Hat! That's awesome! Glad you enjoyed the tutorial and thank you for watching.
Love this hat. Do you have directions on how to make it for a young child please?
Hi Veronica, at this time I don't have a pattern for a child size - you could try a smaller hook or even a #3 yarn. My friend designed this hat - we'll see about doing a child size. Thank you for watching.
I really liked your video and can't wait to try the cables. Thank you!
Arlene, Thank you so much and you're welcome! Thanks for watching.
Excellent tutorial, looking forward to trying others from your channel. You made a difficult looking beanie fun and easy.
Sorry for the late response! YAY! Glad to hear it. I'm about ready to start making more videos again.

Woo Hoo Suzy! That's just AWESOME! It's the best feeling ever! Thank you for your comment! You are so welcome and Thank YOU for watching!
You can see that here - ua-cam.com/video/iZ1evVdYRTg/v-deo.html
Thank you so much for watching.
I just love the way you explain this, your voice is extremely pleasant... Thank you very much for the tutorial - started the hat, i am sure it will be awesome looking :)
Thank you so much for your comment! You are so welcome! Thanks for watching!
I am on my 2nd one now. I ran out of yarn, so the first one is a bit shorter but still very much wearable. Thanks again
Dang when that happens! Well then looks like trip to buy more Yarn! LOL! You know since the videos - I've made the Brim part 9 or 10 sc -10 seems to cover the ears much better - so I do 11sc to start. You are very welcome and Thanks for watching!
got plenty of other yarn :) Thanks a lot for sharing
The hat is amazing when finished! My sister-in-law requested a messy bun hat and when I saw ur video, I fell in love with it but one thing I can’t get thru the 2 row. I have way to many stitches. I tried joining the FB Group to get the pattern but no luck!
Please help desperate crochet! Lol
Sorry I answered your other question first! Let me know if you still need help. You have to have Multiple of 10 stitches. So the brim should be 60, 70 etc..... I do have a slower video but it sounds like your stitch count might be off. Again...thanks for watching.
I made mine and it took me about 5 hours! 😅 I love it!
Woo Hoo! Awesome! They do go faster once you get the hang of it! Thank you for watching!
Thanks for your help, I truly enjoyed your video so clear and easy to follow you.
You're welcome Cathy! Thank you for your comment and thanks for watching.
Thank you so much for sharing this tutorial..love the stitches and the hat ❤️
Jasmine, you are so welcome! Thank you for watching!
Hi. Thank you for the video. How many yards did you need for this project. I wanted to make sure I have enough from a left over skein.
You are so welcome! I honestly don't remember. I want to say 1/2 a skein? This is a #4 weight yarn. Thank you for watching!
Acabo de terminarlo y quedó hermoso. Thank for the pattern , is perfect.
YAY! Glad to hear it! Thank you for watching & Happy Holidays!
Just finished the hat. It was so easy! Thank you!

kraftsbyyvonne awesome i will!
When you open up the three dots in UA-cam it gives you the option to slow or speed up the video. Such an awesome feature :-)
Lavorazione spiegata molto bene. Chiaro il video ed i movimenti . Ho confezionato questo cappello con misure da uomo e pom pom. Risultato spettacolare. Molto caldo e compatta la lavorazione. Thanks
You are so welcome! Thank you for watching!
