A piano, a flute, some soft symbols, and guitar, coupled with one man's voice and only 40 words. Its amazing how something so small can have such an impact on one's heart and mind. I love this song, and the story behind it.

Terry Kath, the finest guitarist and songwriter that ever blessed our lives! My age is 68 now, I was 14 (in 69,) when I first heard the band, (the CTA album). At 15 (1970) myself, and a very good friend and great organist, (his father was a minister, and he grew up playing the piano and organ,) a good lead guitarist and very good drummer, both from our high school, formed a band, I played bass, I could play 6 string but was nowhere near good enough to play lead and rhythm in a band. We played a lot of Chicago's song's, minus the horn section but the organ he had was decent at producing horn sounds. We played high school dances all over the area and in our senior year played and came in 2nd in a battle of the bands held in New Haven CT against guys that weren't in high school anymore. We were quite proud of ourselves to come in 2nd as teenagers against bands with guys in their 20's and mid 20's. Terry will always be my favorite guitarist and songwriter, it saddened me terribly at his passing. He had soo much more to give to us all and his voice was wonderful.

Absolutely shows we have zero talent in the music biz these days.. I so miss the days of truly gifted musicians.
Terry Kath - what more is there to say?
Nothing more sir. Nothing else is necessary. I would trade everything I am & have to go back to the first moment I heard this song. And do it all again. Terry Kath will always be the best!
PERFECT SONG FOR THE PERFECT VOICE
Sam Pruett, I can't get enough of Terry and this song.
Oh Terry 😢
You were taken way too soon
I don't believe that Chicago was ever the same afterwards
Rest in peace dear man 🕊️💖
Beautiful song. Terry Kath was so talented. 😙
Terry could just bring you to tears here, Danny just smokes that tasty intro, thx guys
Doesn't Walt look sexy in his flute solo? They guy is a monster player!!!!
Some singers are really gifted and Terry Kath was one of them. Too bad he is gone I miss him.
You forget how great these guys were...thanks for the reminder.
I always tell people that Terry Kath often sounded like Ray Charles when he sang, and I can’t count the number of times people have said, “OMG, he does!” 😊

I saw their show in Buffalo, N.Y., on Nov 12, 1976; Loved it! The last time I saw the great Terry Kath play!
TERRY KATH WAS THE SOUL OF CHICAGO....SPIRIT...HE MISSED...IN THE 70'S,ALL IS MAGICAL...THANK YOU...
we need more bands with horns
Check out Bill Chase's record....Pure Music. Unfortunately, after that album, the core members died in a plane crash. Man....they were amazing.....
Totally agree, its one thing that set Chicago apart from the rest. such talent, each and everyone of them.
Check out tedeschi trucks band. Many great songs, but check out their tiny desk concert

RIP Terry
You are missed ❤️
Totally Memorized By Terry's Beautiful, Soulful Voice. God Bless.
Being more of a Punk in the 70's I never rally gave them much thought but now I see the genius that they were.
Rolling Stone Magazine just came out with the top 275 guitarists of all time, and Terry Kath didn’t even make the list!! Unbelievable! You’d have to be an idiot not to have him in the top 10! Oh, and Willie Nelson made 77th on the list. What a joke. Terry, you’ll always be the best IMO.
FRSM!
Mi querido Terry una voz como la que a mí y con todo respeto para el buen Kath, excelente como si fuera voz de gente de color y aguardientosa ,además excelente primera guitarra inolvidable mi buen Terry hasta luego
No comment. The songs speak for themselves. Can't be duplicated by any other band.

Terry Is The Man !!!!!!
Chicago was never the same without Terry Kath
He was "Chicago" that's all there is to it
I get so tired of people comparing Terry to Hendrix just because they have history...In my opinion Terry sounds NOTHING like Hendrix...thankfully...
La super banda Chicago, me encanta, lastima de la perdida de semejante músico
Still miss him.
THE BEST BAND EVER OUT OF CHICAGO RIP TK
I just watched a documentary on Chicago on Amazon Prime. It was about 3 hours long , but packed with great Chicago music. Told the whole story and the tragic death of Terry Kath. Im about 60 years old and didn't have any idea about what all happened. All I remember is Peter taking lead vocals. It is a must see. Blessing to all who read this in Atlanta Ga
I understand why Hendrix said Terry was a better guitarist than him
